So many threads are shut down! I think you mods are being too strict, just chill out, OK? Don't close this thread, it will drift away sometime... I just saved a guy from getting banned after so much stuff he did including opening threads he shouldn't have opened which I had to close down, flaming and so on. Don't immediately assume things just by seeing some closed threads that the mods are strict. I myself have said that there are also too many closed threads. But we're doing our job here. You think we're being too strict? If we were being too strict I would've closed down the stupid question and answer thread when you started it. A couple of ancient threads that were bumped up for no apparant reason but to give silly little comments. Aaaand a couple of general closures for other reasons. The reason it looks like we close more threads over here is because hardly anyone makes any new threads to wash away the old threads. In the swamp people make threads every day and the closed threads get washed away into the past very quickly. SWF as a whole has a lot of posts each day but the Cantina itself has jack all in it. I personally think that you guys do a good job here (no sliming) I used to spend some time at jedi-knight2 + 3.de and first I like the way people talked there (like they want in someway, sometines rough, more direct ) but now...nearly every 2nd thread is closed there...and if a newbie asks a question he gets most of the time the answer :" Use the search option for heavens sake'. Thats not good. Therefore I'm here again...you guys let some threads open although it might be already started months ago by another member...but who cares about months ago...people want to talk:cool: well...to come to the point ....I think you're more tolerant here than there (which makes me kinda sad because of course I like a german JK site become big:( ). And i'll bet ya $10 that when the time comes to close the Stupid Question and Answer thread there will be another game thread to take its place. It's over a year old. Well, that's what makes it so special. It's so old, it became an antique piece! Everybody loved the Bar Fight. It wasn't just a stupid thread a few days old where nobody went. Those threads should be closed, not the bar fight. Why not put up a poll and see wether anybody likes a topic. If everybody likes it, everybody goes there, the topic is over 5 long, that means it deserves to stay. Whereas if a topic is stupid, spam, being ignored or something, then it can be closed down. The mods found the bar fight thread to be funny and amusing in the beginning but like a lot of things it just gets old and boring and you end up having the same thing occur over and over and over and over like a broken record. A thread that is ignored doesn't need to be closed down. It'll just drift away into the abyss. If we took your suggestion and closed down threads no one really uses we'd have a million times more closed threads than we do right now. The reason it looks like there's so many threads closed is because one member caused some trouble at one point. I don't care what his cause is. The entire point is not to spam this forum. When a moderator says the decision is final it's no use trying to create new threads because in the end you'll just end up pissing everybody off and getting banned. I know this place doesn't get much traffic, the only traffic the cantina gets was from the bar fight thread. But that will only lead to a trend of people looking to use this place as a game thread arena which is definately not something I'd like to see happen. The other sections of SWF are very well used. Lots of useful Star Wars discussion going on, esspecially in the Ep3 forums. The only place that ever causes trouble is this place, the cantina. That was started here in LF for people to have fun without them having to make crappy threads like the bar fight and you can do it all in an RPG fashion too. As an admin of a different forum on the net I dismissed an effort by a couple of my members to try to get me to open up a forum where people could just spam for the hell of it. There was one catch about it - non of the posts you made in that forum added to your post count, so after the initial "excitement" about it nobody went and things were changed back to what they were. Listen - if you want more users in here - you guys are going to have to create some GOOD non-spamy threads. I'm sick of the Bar Fight - its old already. Think of a better game or something that wont result in four people Spamming. I'm turned off by going in here because you guys are so agressive. You love to turn threads into jokes and spam - and you do it with no tact. At least if I could see some humor in it I might just play along - but nothing. There isn't really one thread in here - besides this one that looks worth while to post in and it doesn't take much. And quit crying about the Mods. They are here to stay. The same things happen in the other forums - people cry about power wielding mods. You are dime a dozen. And also a dying breed in this forum.
