Codja X
Looking through this particular section of the forum, there are plenty of threads about what is wrong with the prequels, why they suck etc. I thought i'd take a different approach - what do you find good about the prequels? All the faults have been extensively documented and so I want to highlight the good things, such as: The reveal of Darth Maul, The Duel of the Fates lightsaber battle, Palpatine's / Sidious' scheming Witnessessing the Clone facilties for the 1st time. Obi vs Jango round 1 (on kamino) Obi vs Jango round 2 (asteroid chase) Yoda's battle Seeing Coruscant all it's glory Jedi battle at geonosis Boba Fett's roots - where he comes from etc... These are just some of the highlights I can think of off the top of my head. If anyone wants to add or elaborate on this list then please feel free. No prequel bashing though - there are plenty of other threads for that:)

RedHawke
The whole of Episode 1 minus the really stupid Midiclorian schlock! The whole of Episode 2, sans most of the necissary, but cheesy, Aniken and Padme romance lines!
sith_master2000
I like everything in both films, I don't know why some people bag great things like these, but there are crazy people out there .
joesdomain
I liked the movie as a whole. Plus the additions of Jabba the Hutt and Boba Fett into the Prequel trilogy.
FiEND_138
Seeing the Jedi in their prime. The fall of the Republic/Jedi. Rise of the Empire/Sith. Why Anakin died & how Vader is born. Natalie Portman in skimpy black leather
Dio
I gotta agree with a lot of the points in the thread opener. I liked Episode 1 minus all the Jar Jar scenes. Episode 2 minus all the love scenes.
Codja X
See, there's loads of good things in Ep1 and 2 - I completely forgot about the Pod Racer sequence - I don't quite remember this either: Originally posted by FiEND_138 Natalie Portman in skimpy black leather Was this in an international version I didn't see? Druid_Allanon
The thing I like about EP1 the most is the part when Darth Maul and the two Jedi were dueling. That kicks ass. As for EP2, the battle at Genosis, and Natalie Portman.
Sivy
it's all good. my favorite thing is definitely the duel of the fates - that's how jedi should fight! and and seeing yoda in action, that was a treat.
Prime
Qui-Gon Jinn Opening fight between Jinn/Kenobi and the battledroids Political manouverings by Palpatine Maul Seeing Coruscant Slave 1 Arena battle/Battle of Geonosis and Obi/Maul fight Actually, the Obi/Maul fight is arguably the best sequence in all of Star Wars. txa1265
Remembering that I am as old as most of your parents, it will come as a surprise that Attack of the Clones is my favorite film of the series - but probably no surprise that The Phantom Menace is my *least* fave. What I like: The Phantom Menace: - Short Negotiations - the first battle with the droids. Gave us the new image of a Jedi, awesome lethal Push, and some great moves. - Ewan McGregor as ObiWan - charming, reserved, irreverant, and just perfect. He is one of my favorite things about the prequels. - Courtyard/hanger battles - Darth Maul and Duel of the Fates Attack of the Clones - Relationship between Anakin and Obiwan - Relationship between Anakin and Palpatine - The romance - Obiwan vs. Jango on Kamino - Obiwan vs. Jango in Space - The battle of Geonosis - Yoda - Anakin & Obiwan vs. Dooku - Anakin in the Geonosis caves - Anakin on Tatooine, with his mother. - Obi, Obi, Obi! In some ways, TPM to me is a series of cool scenes connected by stuff I skip on the DVD. Attack of the Clones I like end to end. Mike
Darth Talliusc
first 10 minutes of ep1 + duel of the fates and any maul appearance. obi vs jango on kamino. anakins freakout (tusken soup anyone?) "good job" watching the clones in action. final fanfare with the loading of the clone ships as palps and Bail look over the balcony. and natalie portman in that tight white outfit. yowza. Vader523
Phantom Menace is my least favorite. Most of the movie is not relavent to the plot and I HATE Jar Jar. What was Lucas smoking that day? lol but Episode II was awsome! My favorite is how we go from young boy with a crush in the beginning to stubborn, rebelious, psycho Anakin in the end. "I-I killed them... I killed them all. And not just the men... But the women... And the children. They're animals! And I slaughtered them like animals! I hate them!" *Imperial March* << One of my favorite scenes! Then the Jango/Obi scenes were jaw dropping. And the war on Geonosis was just so freaking awsome lol. Prime
Originally posted by Vader523 Phantom Menace is my least favorite. Most of the movie is not relavent to the plot... How so? TPM sets up so many things: - How Palpatine diposed of Valorum to rise to Chancellor - Putting an unready Obi-Wan in charge of Anakin - How Palpatine/Sidious was playing both sides - To show how the Senate was corrupt - To show just how gifted Anakin really was And so on. Actually, I like TPM more now knowing what we know after AOTC.
Vader523
Well its things like the pod-racing, Qui-Gon Jin (Who we never hear about in the original trilogy, he just seems out of place. Seems like Obi would have mentioned him even once). I agree it does set up some things, but there was a large chunk of the movie that did nothing in explaining, and just got on my nerves (Which mean Jar Jar was in the scene lol). El Sitherino
Originally posted by Vader523 Well its things like the pod-racing uhmmm.... it showed how special this boy was, not only was he a human (very few can actually pod race and not die) and he was a little boy! I think that qualifies as an "OMG he's special". The pod racing was there to show Anakins potential, his gift as a pilot and a force users.
