PR-0927
Well, my dad and I were finally looking or a good computer online day before yesterday (I went to Niagra Falls yesterday...). He wanted a Server computer, but then he realized that video cards, sound cards, and Windows XP isn't supported on them. So, we looked, and nothing was good, until we went to http://www.ibuypower.com. That website had one of those, "build your computer" things, it rocked. We ended up with a computer with 80 GB hard drive, AMD 64 Processor, the ATI Radeon X800 (not PCI Express, this was the second most expensive graphics card, number one was the Saphire ATI Radeon X800, around $500, more than the one we chose), and other cool stuff. What do you think? Good computer? And, is the website good? It only came out to be around $1,500-$1,700.
Sam Fisher
Well, you did happen to get A VERY KICKASS GAMING COMPUTER! I wish I could upgrade. But first I'm gonna wait until the price for the X800 goes down, which it will in a month because Nvidia will come out with a new card.
Mex
Go to a computer fair and buy all that stuff instead. That is VERY over priced.

Darth Groovy
Ok, I have a question. My computer is over two years old now, and starting to show signs of age. I would like to get a computer that really excells in the game department, and not get ripped off. Now let's say I buy all the pieces and somehow manage to put it together? How much am I looking to spend? Also, don't want a new monitor, I love the one I already got. NOW how much am I looking to spend for the complete package? (I want to play games like Doom 3 and stuff)
ZBomber
I got a nice gaming system. Only thing that could be better is that video card. (ATI 9600 Pro). I spent about 950. Go to computer convention things, you get awesome prices there Groovy. I'll try to get you my specs tommarow if you want.
Tyrion
Originally posted by Darth Groovy Ok, I have a question. My computer is over two years old now, and starting to show signs of age. Around 800-1000 dollars, I forgot the exact parts(was trying to do this for my cousin 3 weeks ago), but go to newegg.com and just look around. You'd want a Athlon 64 w/ motherboard, 512-1024 megs of ram, an x800 or 6800 Gt video card, a sound card of your choosing, things like that. BongoBob
EDIT: um, for a good solid one, around 800 to 1000 dollars. That's how much the one I want to build is.
ZBomber
Radeon 9600 Pro is good enough to run Doom, and it's like 200 dollars. i'd go for that, unless you got extra money to spare.
