Presidential Debate 2004: 1 of 3

Well, the first presidential debate concluded a couple hours ago. Who does everyone think won? Did the outcome of the debate change anyone's mind?

Me? I think Kerry cleaned Bush's clock. That may not be an elegant way to phrase it, but Bush looked like he had to use the men's room, the way he kept squirming up on the podium - as if he wanted to be anywhere but there. In my opinion, Kerry's delivery and message was on target and cut like a laser through Bush's tired, repetitive, bumbling delivery.

I mean, whether you like Bush or Kerry or neither, regardless of what you think of the positions outlined by the candidates, Kerry was by far the better debater, and appeared much more presidential than W.

Rogue15, you might want to leave the country of W wins too. His little escapade in Iraq has done nothing but act as recruiting tool that exceeds Bin Laden's wildest dreams, making America much less safe than had Bush finished the job in Afganistan, where the real terrorists are.

If Bush gets reelected, I wouldn't be surprised to see a small ship sneak a nuke into New York habor and detonate it, courtesy of Bush's misguided crusade against Sadam, who didn't disarm his WMDs for the inspectors because he no longer had any.

Four more years of Bush = time to run to the hills.

Bush's little escapade has made Australia a bigger target too ...

In fact, not only Australia but the whole world. And now the Bush administration wants to force us Canadians to accept the planned ballistic missile shield :( otherwise we will be excluded from the "defence architecture of North America" as they say ( I think Australia is involved too)...as Vagabond says, Bush is carrying on a crusade...I wish the world had evolved a bit more since the Medieval times...really I hope Bush is not reelected. He is the worst thing that can happen to the world in terms of stability and safety.

Exactly. And the thing is Paul Martin is dumb enough to "play his game"...

And regarding Bush's fantasy missile shield, the thing is going to cost hundreds of billions of dollars, for an embryonic system that they tested in highly artificial scenarios, where the target is unrealistically broadcasting its position. And despite all this, the missile shield still has an abysmal success rate. So, not only is this so-called shield a huge waste of money, but it scarcely even works, and at the same time has gotten everyone all worked up.

At least of the thing worked, I could sort of see the justification. But as it stands now, it's just another colossal error in judgment.

If Bush wins I'm staying in Hawaii. They dont really change us so why move:D . But America is in $900,000,000,000,000 in dept. and yes that is the correct amount of 0's. So if bush come prepare for a draft, if Kerry comes get out your blaster and defend you home. Even though I'm being Very optimistic, that's what I've heard from my good friend Senatorial District 5 Don Couch.

Edit: heyyy, if we do have to defend our own homes, at least we have assault weapons to do it with:D

First time there was a gun incident down here in Australia everyone freaked and gun laws became tight as all hell, the government even had this buy back scheme where the government BOUGHT the guns from people so they could all be destroyed.

That is a bad thing. The ban on assault rifles should have been held up. There is absolutely no reason that a person needs to own a gun of that power. I think it is just asking for trouble.
