stingerhs Posted November 3, 2004 Posted November 3, 2004 ^^^^ from what i've seen in my university, and at the polls, most of them were quite ignorant of the issues, and thus decided they had better things to do on their day off from classes. of course, i'm almost proud to be among those 17%.... [/topic] of course, to express my views on farenheit 9/11, i think it was a well done movie, even if i don't like the views he expressed in that movie.

I was kidding about the spelling thing. I doubt Bush's average supporter is any less informed than Kerry's average supporter. I'm sure there are just as many people who voted for Kerry just because they liked him more than Bush. What many people don't understand is that Kerry voted to approve the use of force. When this is brought up, Kerry says he approved but we should have waited for more allies. What would waiting have accomplished? The people who didn't join us would never have joined, because they were selling illegal stuff to Iraq. Sadaam may not have had WMD's, but he certainly had weapon labs and materials that were forbidden by the treaty written at the end of the previous Iraq war. In that war, Iraq attacked Kuwait because of a petty squabble on oil prices. Basically, we put Iraq on parole, and then enforced the terms of that parole.
