RebelScum!
Does anyone notice how slow Obi is at the duel of the fates? When he jumps up from falling he sees Maul and Qui fighting....And it takes him about 1:00 minute to get to the shields...Then when he runs through the shields either shut faster or hes jsut slow again. -.- I know they needed that par tfor the story but could'nt they have done it a little better? Evil Dark Jedi
Hmmm yeah they couldve made it better. But if Obi did make it through Ani wouldnt have become a jedi.
Nairb Notneb
Yeah, he does seem to sort of take his time. If my master was fighting the first Sith to show up in about 1000 years I think I would hustle a little bit more, wouldn't you?
mr.piercy
when he's runnin to the energy beam thingo he surely could have used force - speed to get there quicka

True...Like i said it had to happen as part of the story but i think they could have done a better job...Made obi Wan wouned in the leg or somthing...So he was slower...lol i dunno somthing better than him just jogging to help his master
Nairb Notneb
Obi runs kind of funny in that scene. His hands are flaring out to the sides and he is running like a girl.
Hannibal
Originally posted by mr.piercy when he's runnin to the energy beam thingo he surely could have used force - speed to get there quicka  You guys don't know the first rule of fighting? You never run into a fight you can get hurt real bad that way. Your suppose to move as fast as you can and still be able to stop without getting your clock cleaned because your momentum is still carrying you forward. If you look at when the first energy beam shuts on him he slides and barely misses it.  . Imagine him force running towards Maul. :swipe: dead Obi-wan.  This goes for real life too. Don't ever run full speed into a fight. If you get hit you'll get hurt real bad.

He does have that Fight technique doesn't he, and it proved to be right in two occasions against Sith in combat. The first fight against Maul, Qui-Gon runs in and gets run through, the second fight Anakin charges in and gets charged up!! Â I guess Obi-Wan knows what he's doing after all, let the other guy go in first and soften him up, though it didn't work as well in the second fight. Yoda came in after he sent in his two wipper snappers to soften Dooku up.
Darkside_tanro
Obiwan was not nearly as powerful there as in ep II. He had good reason to be slower. SUcks qui gon had to die tho.
guybroom
I agree, if obi-wan has run into fight maul, he'd be running, have to stop and he'd slide into maul's saber.  Also, the reason he took a moment to jump up IMO is qui-gon and maul were fighting and if he'd have jumped up next to them, qui-gon would be distracted and maul would kill him. - waste of time though  Also, what were those red energy things? Â Nobody wanted him to be a Jedi. It's because it was Qui-Gon's last wish that Yoda allowed to train him, if I remember correctly. So, EDJ is right here. Revan Solo
Obi Wan was a Padawan at this time. You shouldn't compare him with Qui Gon or Maul! He had to train more.
Darth_Monkey11
well,he killed the sith right! and gone though eposide 2 he came better, eposide 3 came better, eposide 4 came craper
Leviathan
Obi Wan was a Padawan at this time. You shouldn't compare him with Qui Gon or Maul! He had to train more. Of padawan, Obi-Wan only had the rank. As Qui-Gonn said, he was ready to pass final tests...

El Sitherino
Obi-Wan slow? Well he did kinda just get knocked down atleast 500 feet onto a metal bridge. I don't know if you've ever fallen 500 feet but even 20 feet knocks the wind out of you.
Pho3nix
Yeah, I agree. The scene could've been better.
Leviathan
So, do you have any suggestion to improve this scene ?...
Pho3nix
Well, I think Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan should have been alot faster and they would have the upper hand of the fight. Right until they get separated. The Darth Maul vs. Qui-Gon fight should have been more intense, and longer.
Leviathan
But Maul and Gui-Gonn began to be tired...
