Darth333
You are free to upload your mods where you want but it would be nice to keep a centralized place such as lucasfiles and pcgamemods where the majority of modders upload their mods so they are easily accessible. When you look for somehting, you know where to go.
Darkkender
Originally posted by NiCK-LeSS fileplanet is slow, thats why i hate it. Yeah I'm aware fileplanet tends to be slow but I have seen one mod there which is the dantooine aftermath. I figured this thread was here as a method of mentioning alternatives that were not listed above, which is what fileplanet is. Truth be told that is where I found out about this community for modding. Yet there is nothing really there.

Don't want to go down that Dark Path, eh Skye?

Samuel Dravis
There's also http://www.freewebtown.com - 1gb bandwidth/month, no ads, FTP access, 20mb space, no file size or type limits (other than the 20mb) and a lot of features as well. Colma Adawin
okay, 2 wee questions, 1) why can i post my mod on PCGM, it always comes up with file not found when i choose the section where i want the mod. 2) i've done everything for LucasFiles, sent the E-Mail with mod, got e-mail saying it will be up in 24 hours -------- waited and nothing, must i wait longer? or must i do it again?? i dont want my own site, becoz i like the fact that the majority use PCGM and LucasFiles so there would be no use. so im stuck for the moment. Check your computer for spyware. Run ad-aware and if you are still unsucessful, use another browser such as firefox. 2) i've done everything for LucasFiles, sent the E-Mail with mod, got e-mail saying it will be up in 24 hours -------- waited and nothing, must i wait longer? or must i do it again?? MattCole 1) For pcgamemods, a common made mistake (especially here recently) is using "special" characters in your mod .zip filename. Don't use commas, apostrophes or punctuation (except periods). Stick with letters & underscores if you can. It's mis-leading because you actually go through the whole process of 'uploading', but then *poof* File Not Found error shows it's nasty face (I've had this happen to me one too many times...hehe). Try re-uploading it with a different (more simple) name. 2) Lucasfiles can sometimes have lengthy waiting periods. My Juhani Dark Robe took almost 2 weeks for it to show. My guess is because it's an Official mods depot, each mod has to go through a 'screening'. Depending who and how many are on staff...and/or the legal consequences they could suffer for a 'mistake', I'm sure the mod gets examine head to toe. The good thing is, Lucasfiles traffic is pretty good and download tallies can shine almost as well as pcgamemods...

ChAiNz.2da
Hey all, I was just wondering something. With TSL for the PC available in under 2 weeks, modding is going to eventually happen. For most of us, we each have our own sites to host our mods, BUT we all know the convenience of using pcgamemods as a central depot. 1) Is there going to be a TSL section at pcgamemods. I understand it's not a site maintained by Lucasforums, but was wondering if there has been "negotiation talks" or an arrangement (or hell, a desperate plea & good ole fashioned ass-kissing;) ) 2) If not, are we to upload TSL related mods to the Kotor Section (I can see poblems developing here unless there's massive backwards compatibility). If we DO decide to upload mods there (in Kotor Section), should we at least agree to mark it in either the mod description or filename? ie - 1) TSL_ChAiNzFeebleMod.zip or in the description: 2) "This mod was developed for TSL. My mod description...blahblahblah" Just wondering if anyone else has any ideas or thought of this?
Darkkender
I would say as long as we mark our mods with big neon lights from now untill pcgamemods has a TSL section we probably won't have problems with people trying to load a TSL mod into KOTOR 1. However since we can't have a big flashing banner that says this is a TSL mod we may want to have about twenty different references in the mod title, description, mod name, and Readme. Otherwise our own personal sites and lucasfiles might be less of a headache.(One of the reasons I've been working hard on completing the development of my own site.) I asked Sergio about this, and he gave it the big thumbs up, so look out for a KOTOR II section at PCGM soon! Incidentally, the KOTOR section has been, in my view, the most friendly and easy to run section that PCGM has ever had by a mile. I'd like to take the chance to say what a good community this is, and how amazed I am by the helpfulness and deceny of its members. Its no surprise that Sergio would be happy to have a KOTOR II section really, the first was a big success for the site. I'm retiring from my PCGM admining, I've emailed several people from the KOTOR community who have helped me out these past months, so hopefully you'll get some great new admins there. Appologies for monentarily hijacking this thread as a platform... but I'd like to thank everyone who has used the KOTOR section at PCGM for making it so enjoyable to admin. Finally, I'd like to say Sergio deserves a lot of credit for what he has done at PCGM, good on him. I now return you to your normal forums service, bye all

I'm sorry to hear that Though the KotOR section and members here at Holowan will miss your "always there to the rescue" dedication, I'm sure you have your reasons. That doesn't mean you're going to be a stranger here is it?.... naaaahh that would be 'inconceivable' (we hope) Finally, I'd like to say Sergio deserves a lot of credit for what he has done at PCGM, good on him. Much thanks goes to him and what he's done for this Community. Thanks Kengo for going to bat for us and getting this set up. We owe you alot!
