Man I tell ya,Have any of you seen how awsome that episode 3 game looks?I only have one complaint....Why arn't they bringing it our for pc????I mean common lucasarts are you really gonna leave all of us pc gamers stuck with jedi academy for god knows how many more years when you could bring this AWSOME game to pc gamers and also incorporate multiplayer in it?In my opinion you would strike gold if you did that and i'm sure my other fellow pc gamers agree...:)leave any thoughts and oponions...:)

this is not just gonna be a hack and slash...lol...I mean if it is then what do ya think jedi knight 2 and jedi academy are??...:)...I mean if any of you have the star wars trilogy then you must of saw how they made this game. They took all the moves from the movies which is what I have been hearing from all the jedi knight players is exactally what they have been craving!!!If you also look at the teaser trailer you will see plainly that the duels look very movie like...:)

yes I did and did you read the press release???....it is an action/aventure game not a FPS...:)...or hack and slash.Like I said in my last post what do you think jedi outcast and jedi academy are!All you do in those games are run and gun with saber hack and slash too with a little puzzle solving once in a while. I mean the episode 3 game I am sure will have these elements too I guess when more info is realesed we will find out...:)

ok and also go to both of these sites and watch both trailers. As you will see jedi academy trailer is very nurotic and very fast hack and slash where as the episode 3 game looks more fluint and precise in saber fighting which like I said before is what most of the jedi academy and outcast players have been craving for years now.To be able to have duel's like in the movies...:)

I'm with Prime. There is a significant stylistic difference between FPS (or TPS, as some like to call JO/JA) and a hak'n'slasher.

I just hope that it is good ... at whatever it tries to be.

hey,

as much as i love JO and JA, i would at least have to say that to call this Ep. 3 a hack and slash game you would then have to call JA a hack and slash game. To maybe put it more openly, hack/slash/use force powers occationally. Don't get me wrong, i loved every minute of SP in JO and JA, but to call a new starwars game hack and slash but claiming that JA is not the same.... well it just doesn't really make sense because you will most likely find that this Ep 3 will have MORE problem solving than JA. I only recalled using force sense about 3-5 times in JA and they were the only real instances where the levels we more than a straight foward gauntlet to the end. I actually !LOVE! how they make the levels a one way gauntlet because it doesn't mean walking round in circles, going back the way you came to explore the other route, etc, etc. I hope they keep the JO/JA level style in the next installment.

that's my 2 cents.

catchya,

P.S. It's good to be arguing with you again prime :p lol

Hey, nobody said hack-and-slash games are bad, they just have a different feel than adventure games. I would say that JO was more of an adventure/action game while JA was more of a hack-and-slash. You often had to use your noggin to figure out where to go next in JO while still including enough enemies and action to keep it interesting. JA on the other hand focused on saber fighting, with Cultist and Reborn around practically every corner and only a few simple puzzles that would stump JO veterans for a grand total of five seconds. Both games are great for what they have to offer.

As for the Episode III game, it's too early to tell. It's certainly an action game, but whether it's an adventure or a hack-and-slash remain to be seen.

That was what I was saying as well - a couple of months ago I played through Rune and then Blade of Darkness, both hak'n'slashers, both great fun. JKII & JA feel much more like Elite Force II than either of those games, thus I separate FPS from HnS.

The strength of the JK series (obviously not including DF1) has been the combination of Force, Sabers, Guns, Explosives with first AND third person play.

There's so much to do, and it's very action oriented. Single Player & Multiplayer.

This game looks to fall short of that precedent. Even if they are billing it as the "ultimate Jedi Simulator" I doubt it will be much more than a pretty over-hyped movie-tie in. But I'm sure it will make lots of money on the consoles.

Hopefully for them, it won't be another "Obi-Wan."

... jesus christ. I've heard seen this question 7 previous times. -_-

It's a hack and slash, they never succeed on PC, it's being designed specifically for consoles and their controllers. They didn't wanna make it for pc, get over it.
