El Sitherino
hmmmm I personally think this lady sniffs too much glue. I mean honestly. Masturbation is healthy for you. I personally like the no testicle and prostate cancer factor that comes with masturbating. I'd rather be an "addict" than a cancer patient. so anyway, just wondering opinions. jon_hill987
Well I can hardly see a porn "addict" stealing to get the money to pay for porn, as you might with crack. this is quite stupid. It really is.
El Sitherino
Several suggested that federal money be allocated to fund brain-mapping studies into the physical effects of pornography. hurray, more tax money being wasted on STUPID ****! The panelists all agreed that the government should fund health campaigns to educate the public about the dangers of pornography. they did this in 65, it was called Perversion for Profit, the thing is though, it was an obvious bull**** campaign of lies and idiocy. Queen acknowledges she can name people who have compulsive and destructive behavior centered on pornography, but argues that can happen with other activities, such as gambling and shopping. and I can tell you I know kids addicted to school. LET'S SPEND TAX MONEY STUDYING THE EFFECTS SCHOOL HAS ON THE BRAIN! -_- Queen also criticized the methodology behind research showing that pornography stimulates the brain like drugs do, saying the research needs to take into account how sex itself stimulates the brain. I believe most of these studies were speaking about ejaculation itself, which does happen during sex. :x masturbation and sex are pretty much the same thing, just ones with a hand the others with a *woohoo*. Studies intended to show the harmful effects of pornography must contend with ethical rules prohibiting harm to human subjects the only harm I see coming from masturbation is the guy that forgets the lotion and gets a rash. wassup
It is the viewer's fault that he/she cannot control their so-called "addiction" to pornography, not the pornography itself. There are many people in this world leading healthy, balanced, and controlled lives who view pornography. What do the pschologists say about them? On a further note, it is disconcerting at how our society (especially the media) places all the blame upon external forces such as pornography or video games, and yet depict human beings as innocent and inculpable. Redwing
I like how the opposing side gives no arguments except that it's dishonourable to women. (Why not men?) I do understand this, though, as when I had the same opinions I also only had 'a feeling' to back them up. Then I learned the facts about it. I still have no desire to watch porn, though...(sorry, IS ) I won't go into the details, but here's a fun fact: Pornography is the only industry in the world (or the Western world, at least) where women are ALWAYS better paid (at least 4 times as much) and nearly always the ones in charge over men. "Pornography really does, unlike other addictions, biologically cause direct release of the most perfect addictive substance," Satinover said. "That is, it causes masturbation, which causes release of the naturally occurring opioids. It does what heroin can't do, in effect." That argument is just AMAZING. It's stating that pornography causes masturbation (rather than the other way around). And masturbation "causes the release of the naturally occurring opioids [which is] what heroin can't do..." Wow. Just, wow. Let me dejargonize this for the benefit of our incompletely educated viewers out there. Satinover is saying that masturbation makes you feel very, very good, in a natural way that heroin can only imitate (implying that this makes masturbation more dangerous). This is completely true, sans the implications. Satinover is actively presenting his argument in such a way as to deceive his readers (which is a fact which should surprise no one, if you click the link to his home page). If Satinover's implication was correct (that, [All this], and thusly pornography is bad), then sex MUST be bad also, because it has the exact same effects as the ones he listed for masturbation. This also equivocates sex to heroin in the exact same way as masturbation is being equivocated to heroin. So, if you agree with Satinover, then you must also believe that sex (ANY sex) is more dangerous than heroin. Which, if you do, uh, go you. But we DO sort of need it for our race to continue to survive. I'd be very curious as to whether Satinover claims to be a Christian, considering his deceptiveness. I haven't said it wasn't dishonourable for men, I just was rather tired and forgot to add those six letters. Still, I see sex as the ultimate form of love between two individuals, and I don't think it's right to share that with the rest of the world.
