tk102 Posted January 12, 2005 Posted January 12, 2005 Should rename this thread: Salvadore Dali Meets Macromedia Flash
T7nowhere Posted January 13, 2005 Posted January 13, 2005 Thats Pretty cool, though its not that Bizaar or sureal. Still very cool.
Darth333 Posted January 15, 2005 Posted January 15, 2005 Reminds me Escher's work more than Dali's, more particularly this ,this and this. (Check the gallery for the periods "Back in Holland 1941 - 1954" and "Recognition and Success 1955-1972" for other similar work).

Im gonna have to save a few of those for wall paper.
Darth333 Posted January 15, 2005 Posted January 15, 2005 Yup, I think these are the originals some people may already be familiar with famous "Escher cube" The man sitting on the bench at the bottom of this pic holds such a cube.

I was making trippy cubes for weeks after. EDIT: Ati has a screen saver availible to DL based on this This painting edit: Found the ATI screensaver Moebius its at the bottom of the page. Its old but still a cool screen saver.
tk102 Posted January 15, 2005 Posted January 15, 2005 So it's a Necker cube if it's 2D and an Escher cube if it's 3D? And while we're on the subject take a look at Escher For Real to see how geometric shapes like the Escher can actually be constructed. Anyway, I still think its more Dali than Escher. Not too many straight lines in there, and Escher didn't do too much in the way of human (or demi-human) figures.
