Wildstar
I guess what is upsetting me is the fact that I completely forgot to take a dose of my medication today, the first time that's happened in over 5 years. I noticed b/c I remembered to take my noon pill and noticed the morning pills still in the box. My sister said to take the morning pills @ noon (when I called her to check in) and the noon one 2 hours later, so I should be back on schedule now. Keyan Farlander
Originally posted by Nute Gunray I'm sad because that girl was looking super cute today but that other guy is always there Time to be sad and lonely all weekend. School sucks. This weekend will suck because I'll be stressing out about my two midterms and my skit for Italian. I barely know any Italian and I suck at the foreign languages. Perhaps you could reconfigure the deflector dish to emit a stream of inverse polaronshabadoobadoodoo particles. If you could get the angle just right, you could capture the girl's interest and pass the exams all at the same time. This plan is quite obviously flawless. It's a good thing I'm here. Nute Gunray
I attempted to recalibrate the secondary induction coil so that I could use the primary deflector array to emit an inverse polaron pulse that would interact with the graviton emissions from a local subspace distortion. To make a long story short, it took some help from Q in the end or else there wouldn't be much of a universe left right now.

edlib
2/25/05 More snow. More shoveling. Kill me now. Still pretty tired and dragging ass everywhere I go it seems. I wonder if I'm fighting a cold or something... or maybe I'm just mildly depressed about the nonsense I have to go through at work sometimes. Finally finshed reading The Bourne Supremacy last night. I started reading it just before my uncle went into the hospital and got about halfway through it before the situation totally interrupted things. I put it down for a couple of weeks, finally picking it back up earlier this month and realizing that I had no idea where I left off, so I re-read most of it. Now I have to decide if I'm going straight on to The Bourne Ultimatum, or read the next book in Stephen King's Dark Tower series... I guess I could do both; the Bourne book is a little paperback, and the King book is a big ol' honkin' thing. I could take the Ludlum book in my bag and read it on the train to work, and read the other one at home. I hate trying to keep 2 different stories straight when doing that, but I really want to read them both ASAP.
Rogue15
dang i still have to finish those halo books......got distracted from new computer and galaxies......and now i'm totally immersed in Deus Ex...so i think galaxies is gonna be on hold for a while til i beat deus ex. got my pistol skill to advanced plus i keep modding it so it's got like 84% accuracy, laser sighting, target zoom.....like hell yeah! XD prolly the best thing in the game to upgrade since there is always 10mm clips just laying around. hehe and i can get headshots easily. i am halfway through that halo 'fall of reach' book....it was getting interesting too! lol i dunno when i'll pick it up again. =\

"Ultimatum", hands down. It's a much better read then "Supremacy"... I almost had to force myself through "Supremacy", but "Ultimatum" was a *lot* more like the first one. It picks up after Supremacy, but it's really continuing the "Identity" storyline of Bourne vs Carlos vs shady government organization.
edlib
OK. Ultimatum it is then... Yeah... the last third of Supremacy was really good, the rest of it was kind of a slog. Probably why I couldn't really remember where I left off, or why when I put it down I didn't run right back to pick it up. Still, I am 4/7ths of the way through the King series and I hear the last 3 books are the best of the entire series, and it has been REALLY good so far... Nute Gunray
I missed daylight today. I slept something like 17 hours last night/today. Totally wasted the day. And messed up my sleep schedule On tuesday, I have an oral midterm in Italian that I know I can't do and I'm very worried about it. We have to do a 2-3 minute conversation with someone on one of six randomly determined scenarios. A few of them are pretty hard ones and its so difficult to converse in a new language when you're too busy trying to think of how to say what you want to and are restrained to a single verb tense. You use the present tense a lot less than the others. I mean, I've used the present tense four times in this post and the past tense seven. The very same day, I have one of our TWO exams (i hate when you only get a midterm and a final) and this is probably the hardest test I've had in as long as I can remember. Forty percent is short answer wherein we must identify and discuss quotes from the readings. That's not so bad, but I had a rough time keeping up with the reading for this class. That's my fault; I won't blame the prof for that. But the other 60% of the exam is two essay questions. He gave us four possible ones to study in advance. He likes "long essays" and said that one or two pages is an introduction to an essay. Now, I have no problem with long essays. Most classes that essays dominate the exam, I'll do four or five pages. But that's when there's one of them. We have an hour and fifteen minutes to write these two essays. That plus the short answer section makes me already wonder if I'll have enough time to do this. Worse yet, he wants us to cite examples from the texts. That's all well and good, you know, when I have actually have the book in front of me. Everything about this exam is stacked against the test-taker. I don't mean to be 'waahhh this test is hard.' I'd understand if these was a 300 or 400 level religious studies class. But its not. It's number is 044. Its a 000 level class. The easiest level of classes. I've had dozens of 100, 200, and a few 300 level classes that aren't as hard and nightmarish as this one. Plus not going to this class for two weeks probably hurt me. It wouldn't be so bad, I guess, if I had more time and didn't have that damn Italian skit to do on the exact same day. edlib
I had a class like that in college. It was a half-credit (0.5 cr!) guitar performance lab that I had to spend twice as much time studying and practicing for than the rest of my classes combined just to pass... not even pass with great grades, just to make it through! I took 3 and 4 credit classes that didn't kick my butt anywhere near what that one did. Of course, there aren't many 3 and 4 credit courses at my school... 90% of the classes there are 2 credits or less, and the average credit load is 16... the minimum is 12. That 6 to 8 classes if you take nothing but 2 credit ones... and easily 10 or more if you throw a few labs in. The semester I took that death-course I had something like 9 or 10 other classes and labs I was trying to keep straight at the same time. Looking back: I really should have dropped it, but I suffered it out for some reason. The only class I really got fed up and bailed out on was a 4-part Fugue writing class (Yay! Advanced Counterpoint! Can I get a Halleujah?!?) I took as elective... and that was mainly because I didn't have the time to devote to it to do it properly, and that I thought the teacher was a bit of a tool. The first third of the semester in the class was covering the basics and some more adavanced concepts; the other 2/3rds was writing projects. I made it through the whole first half, right up till midterm exams. By then we were supposed to have most of our final project written and present it in class. Well, for 3 weeks when I should have been studying for all my other subjects I was spending all of my free time writing and re-writing this thing. I got a good chunk of it done, (probably 50 or so bars) and I constantly checked it for technical errors (parallel motion, akward leaps, etc...) until I was sure that it was flaw free for the measures I had. The only thing is that I used some very slightly more modern sounding melodic and harmonic ideas than Bach or any other Baroque writer would have used. Well, the teacher picked up on that immediately. "This is not anything that Bach would have written." Me: "Yeah I know, but it's not really technically wrong, is it?" "No, but it's not stylistically right to Bach's era. You will need to re-write your theme before I would pass this." "Huh? Uh, this is 1997, after all! Things have changed musically a bit in that time! And I'm not J.S. Bach... never will be either. Don't think I'm even related to one of his children's bastard kids!" "That's not funny. You need to be able to copy Bach's style before you could ever hope to move on to more modern styles." "First, I don't agree with that! Second; That means re-writing every single bar of this thing!!! I don't have time for that! This is just an elective for me!" "Well you will if you want to pass." "See ya!"
Rogue15
well yesterday we had pizza at work since we finished our job for walgreens....dominos. heh. i found a better way to unload pallets since the person that puts the boxes onto the line isn't fast enough, i've gotta kill my fingers, but it's alot quicker, just hope i don't do anything permanentally damaging....o and one of the supervisors said she was gonna recommend a $100 bonus since i was actually moving and helping out during downtime, so hopefully she wasn't just saying ****, cause i really could use that $100. I didn't say much to the girl, hell i don't even think she notices me. i think i'll just not be selfish. i mean, asking someone to like me is asking quite a bit, imo. so if she wants me she can come and get me. meh. Got home and played Deus Ex from like 11:30-3:30. wiped out the new york city underground tunnels. almost have enough skill points to master pistol. I actually completed the mission too. so now i'm in this area trying to locate the NSF base to help them or something since the characters bro decided to join them. felt nice assassinating his boss in cold blood. edlib
2/26/05 Got my taxes done today. I'm getting almost 2 grand back, so that's a good thing! I always overpay my taxes, since I used to do a lot of freelance stuff where I didn't pay anything on it all year, so it would work out at the end of the year and I'd break even. Last year I hardly did any freelance work, so all that money I overpayed to cover myself is all coming back! Sweet! I always go to H & R Block to get them done. I'm lazy, and I hate trying to make sense of the Government gibberish that passes for instructions on the tax forms. This way I have to pay a bit of money, but the whole thing is done in under a half hour, my guy finds deductions that I would never think about, and if anything goes wrong I get to just point at the guy and say "His fault!!!" and I'm covered. I went to IHop to eat afterwards. I like IHop, but the food is never pipng hot when you get it... always just warm at best. Why is that? I still haven't gotten around to getting tubes for my amps. And none of the places I know about around here are open today. Maybe I'll just mail-order them...
Rogue15
omg dude..... ihop=4 bad experiences. lol never going back to there ever. since every time, they spent like 2 hours making our food. what the **** is up with that?!
edlib
Yeah... every time I say the same thing, that it's not worth it and I'm not going back. Keyan Farlander
I never go out for breakfast. They always give you that glass of orange juice that's like two sips worth. Why is that? They can give you a huge glass of coke, but orange juice is just too special to give out in large quantities or what?
Nute Gunray
Originally posted by Rogue15 so if she wants me she can come and get me. This has happened like twice ever. Coke is also probably easier and cheaper to produce. Plus you can store way more of it on hand at any given time than you can orange juice. Five gallons of Coke syrup for a fountain takes up the same five gallons of orange juice, yeah, but that five gallons of Coke yields like...a lot more than five gallons of Coke. In the three years I worked at a coffee shop, I only remember replacing the syrup a handful of times. I would estimate that five gallons of syrup comes out to 25-30 gallons of drinkable Coke. edlib
Funny... breakfast is about the only meal I'm ever all that interested in eating out. A good breakfast, with all the fixins, is a rather labor and resource intensive endevor. Plus, at that hour, I have absolutely no interest in actually cooking, but a lot of interest in eating. I usually go with the carafe of coffee though. It's a better bargan. I had a girl kinda come after me when I was younger, but I totally misread all the signs. I thought she was just being strangely friendly to me, but I never imagined that she could be interested romantically. I was very attracted her too, but I never thought I had a snowball's chance in Hell. After she had gotten married I ran into her dad who told me that he was surprised that I didn't end up with her, since she had been crazy about me and used to talk about me all the time. Ouch. There were a couple of other girls back in high school that always sat near me and kinda teased me at lunch. They were a couple of grades ahead of me, so I tried to ignore them, thinking they were crazy, or just having a laugh at my expense. I always wondered what thier problem was. One of them eventually ended up working with my mom a couple of years later. One day I visited my mom and the girl recognized me. After I left she told my mom that she and her friend were always trying to find a way to get me over to one of thier places to tag-team me. First: I can't believe that she would EVER tell my mother that! Second: I can't believe that my own mother would tell me that she was told that! Hey, thanks mom! I'd actually rather not have known... Back when I worked in a movie theater we used to change Coke (or was it Pepsi?) syrup several times a day. My shoes were always sticky and tended to attract insects when I was outside as there was always a little syrup that dripped out on my feet when we changed it. And I always smelled like popcorn. Kylilin
Getting a tax refund is a great feeling. Keyan Farlander
You can get a pretty big orange juice and McDonalds. It sucks, but, well, what do you want from McDonald's, something good? I don't even eat breakfast. Getting every last second of sleep possible is far more important. I don't eat lunch half the time either, as even something small tends to make me tired during the day. I like the actual type of food you get at breakfast, but most days my first meal comes at about 2 or 3 in the afternoon, and that's if I get up at 6:00 am or earlier. The later I sleep the later my first meal comes. I reallly have to be up about 8 hours before I can stomache food. I just have no appetite before that. Today I slept until almost 10 am, and "breakfast" for me came at 6:30 this evening. Oh well, might as well as do this: 2/27/05 Went to the wholesale store to pick up a couple of months' supplies. Loaded up good, too: Bottles of juice, toilet paper, dry cat food, mac & cheese mix, kitty litter, canned veggies, pasta, tuna fish, batteries, peanuts, you name it... if it could fit in the cart it was damn sure coming home with me. I felt like a Viking or a Visigoth... just pillaging as I pushed my cart down the aisles, taking all the booty I could see! Yahrrr! Fear my wrath!!! I get pretty crazy in those places. The prices are so good and portions are sooo big! Me Wantee!!!! Give it to me now! All of it!!! Get out of my way, bitch... or you'll end up in the cart too! Ahrrhahahahahah!!! Then I always regret owning a Volkswagen when I get back out to the parking lot...
