coupes.
So this summer is very hot on the East coast, probably one of the hotter summer I've experienced so far. The sun is burning and the humdity level is through he roof. Anyways, this is just a fun discussion about ways you guys use to cool down a bit. Do you dive in your pool, drink a cold beer, eat spicy food, etc. This might even give people some ideas on how to cool down I personally like a cold beer when I'm hot, as I don't have a pool. However I'm lucky enough to have AC at home, so when it's really hot outside, I usually just sit back and watch a movie inside.

Aw man tell her she has our sympathy, it was bad enough for my wife who was due mid-Sept with our first ... of course, she went 2.5 weeks late before the C-section, but being huge-pregnant in the summer heat is just a really rough thing ... Of course, beer doesn't quench your thirst, and is really one of the worst anti-dehydration things you can do. We've been doing air conditioning and pool. And loads of water. Rogue Nine
I stay inside all day at the office and only really get exposed to the heat and humidity when I go to lunch, and even that's really kinda gross. Blurgh. Can't wait for Cali.

Indeed I got to install AC but I need the approval of the other owners in the building first and that is not before september... ( I have huge windows that go from the ceiling to the floor and when the sun hits it's hot as hell ). So in the meantime it's cold water... (and sometimes a glass of white wine with berries though it 's not really efficient) Anyways, I work a lot with Inuit ("Eskimo") communities in the North of Quebec and some people were telling me that it's been 35°C (95°F) in some communities near the artic circle... Nerd_Annhilator
Going outside right now would cause me to burst into flames and fry on the sidewalk.
Darth Groovy
In Illinois there is a watering ban, which means under no circumstances are you allowed to water your lawn. About a month ago, we had a "boil order" meaning the water if ABSOLOTELY necessary had to be boiled prior to consumtion. It has not rained since the 4th of July, and that was a light shower, at best. Grass may be dry as hell, but at least I got to do alot of outdoor activities this summer. I enjoy bike riding and swimming, I also like wave runners, but I can't afford that right now, so I stick to the paddle boats instead. My favorite summer drink is a fresh brewed pot of iced tea with no sugar or lemons.
lukeskywalker1
Darth333, put some curtains over the windows to block the sun. The thing about curtains is they can prevent the sun from beaming down into a room which prevents heat, but they can also block heat inside a room aswell. You'll have to experiment. Right now, I stay inside a lot, with my fan on. I drink 2-4 bottles of water a day, and turn the AC on for a couple of hours a day. It costs too much to leave it on all day. Mike Windu
zOMG GLOBAL WARMING! Summer here's been mild at best, hot some days, not so hot other days. (In Tennessee by the way). So, thanks for taking all the heat guys

At the beginning of summer, my computer kept on crashing because of the outside temperature. Personally, I like to put my head into a bathtub full of water. It cools me down for 20 mins. You would think it would be fun to go out and do some exercises but it's too hot to do anything. I feel all sticky...
Tyrion
Bwahaha, for once summer's worse in the East Coast than it is for the West. While it is a bit warm here in Southern California, the absence of humidity is duly noted, suckas!
El Sitherino
95? That's daily here, then again you are in Canda. Quite disturbing. But anyway just leave a tub full of cold water and occasionally wet your feet, always does the trick. Could also try freezing/chilling your underwear. ZBomber
My parents have AC all through out the house, but never use it, so my room is the only one that is cold in the whole house - thus, I never leave my room.
