My point is what you said made no sense. What exactly is complicated and what about parents?

Your logic made no sense, I understand the gaming arguement. Tis why I still have a windows machine. But I the rest of your arguement made no sense, you offered no example of what you meant.

You don't have windows? Edit: (Oh, mis-read it)

And I could care less that you like to pretend you don't understand me in an attempt to try and void my argument, even though you have no point to disagree with me (or you haven't pointed one out yet).

So I say: Why should I care?

I'm just trying to figure out what the hell you meant by making something more complicated and what parents had to do with this. Linux (if that was your implication) is not complicated, nor is it impossible for a parent to use.

And you seem to have a sour image of me that is completely false, I'm not pretending, nor am I trying to void your arguement by pretending.

What you said made little to no sense and I wished for clarification on what you meant.

You made the post, you obviously cared enough to make it.

um Linux is only complicated when you only know window gui but me i grew up with dos(Dumb operating system) and I when i actually took a linux corse i couldn't beleive the trouble the windows junkies were having and as for it actually being easy to learn it is not something you can just put as little effort into learn and actually be able to us it effectively and shouldn't a linux window debate be in the senate chambers:D and I only run window to play games and use microsoft visual studios .net oh and did i mention linux is free

Well, moving on from Insane Sith's pointless quarrelling, I read that Vista wasn't coming out until late 2006, so I guess they will have awhile to add some features and such. And hopefully it will shape up pretty well by the time its finished. I just hope it works well.

Not really, I grew up with windows and early mac. I got Ubuntu Linux and that was a breeze to pick up, same with zen linux and gentoo, etc.

All you have to do is take some time to figure stuff out, just like you would with any other computer.

Remind me how questioning to understand what you mean = arguing.

and this thread will be the first to get the axe.

Stop. It. Now.

Indeed. I was merely trying to understand.

Anyway, I remember hearing rumours that they were going to be just having a business edition for ... business' and a personal use edition. But no "Vista Professional".

Well, looking at some of those screenies, and all arguing aside, I realize two things: 1) The one post is from 2003. 2) If the actual desktop looks that way with a freaking huge clock and side bar, I will stay with XP until I have time to sit down and learn Linux or something. It really looks like XP with a couple of bells and whistles. Now, if there were updated pics and stuff, I would like to see them. Other than that, yeah I don't like it so far...

Well yeah, but then again you could say every afterbuild of an OS looks like it's predecessor with a few bells and whistles added.

But I agree, looks a lot like those mock-longhorn themes you get for stylexp or windowsblinds.

:xp: I'm joking.

I'm going to stick with Windows XP, how the heck is anyone going to minimize games? It'll take like 2 minutes just to load your "3D" desktop. Also I don't really like the name, I preferred Lonhorn.

It'll be interesting to see, to say the least.

Also I don't like how much RAM Vista is going to use up, now that new games are requiring 2 Gigs of ram, if you can't afford two and only have 1 gig I guess about half of thats going to be used for rendering the desktop.

I do like the idea about the sidebar though, even though that should've been added years ago. It'll be easier to navigate through menus and the like.

I just hope Vista isn't as easy to pirate as Windows XP (RHQQ2 anyone? :xp: )
