Another tid-bit from the Newsletter I subscribe to. I just downloaded it and it's pretty kewl!

Some decent hardware specs are required (as stated in the quote)... but this is very "fun" to mess around with! :D

In this week's editorial, we mentioned the incredible detail now available in satellite photos. If you'd like to see most places from the sky, you can download Google's free software, Google Earth, to get a better look. This is a very cool program, based on the old Keyhole technology. You can type in a street address or a city name and zoom in on wonderfully detailed views. And even better, you can select "layers" to overlay on the maps, showing where various types of places are located (such as schools, banks, postal code boundaries, airports, cemeteries, restaurants, gas stations, golf courses, hospitals and many more. Our only caveat is that you need a good 3D video card and a broadband Internet connection to take advantage of it. You can download it here:

Home to...school

Pretty neat app

EDIT: How do you get the directions to go away on the screen? I got this screen from the printable view on the internet browser, I couldn't figure out how to get all the writing off the map in the program. And help?

EDIT 2: Nevermind, I figured it out. You uncheck the little boxes!

Oh, and for some reason, my part of the map is all green and blurry... I know its a suburb... but sheesh... hehe
