A Star Wars Halloween Costume - 2 yrs

Hi guys!

I'm in need of your help! I want to dress my son up Star Wars Style this halloween. Most of the costumes I have seen out there are of course Darth Vader. I can't dress my son up as anything with a helmet. He barely will wear a hat - so I can't see him wanting to be in a helmet. So that leaves either battle scarred just before the turn Anakin or the ever present hero Obi Wan. I've been debating on ordering from the Star Wars Shop directly - however has anyone gotten a costume from there and is it good quality? The reason I ask is that they are almost $40 a costume and they have no returns unless its for a size exchange. Also - I can't really tell if its fabric or lots of vinyl. I would like it to look authentic. I saw a pattern for an Obi Wan where I would have to sew it - not a big deal. Not sure if it looks like a good Star Wars representation. Anyway! Let me know your opinions. Also if you've seen an online site with some good SW costumes please leave a link and also if you see it in a store let me know. I live in California and there are lots of stores - and if I can't find it maybe we can work out something out.

Thanks guys!

Shannon

Man, I thought you was gonna say you was going as Leia as Jabba's slave this year. What a disappointment, just kidding. Umm I would imagine they would have alot of costume shops in CA. Hmmm those star wars shop ones look ok, but not the best looking. I did a quick search for a few sites and found this:

http://www.nightmarefactory.com/starwark.html (Has the Glove and Braids for a jedi padawan, plus alot of childs costumes.)

http://www.buycostumes.com/star_wars_costumes.aspx

I hope these helps.

Also if your looking for a good cloak maker check out http://www.twinrosesdesigns.com/ I got them to make me a Darth Maul Cloak a few years back, very nice ppl.

There should be loads of 'little jedi' costumes ... I guess i was lucky, as my younger son wanted to be Anakin starting with the video release of Ep I, so he has kept up with costumes since he was 2.5!

You could try to make some sort of cheap Yoda costume. Here's a link to a pick and a short description of the cheap costume.

Jeezum crow thats a lotta god damned work for a buncha costumes that'd only be worn once! I'm gonna love my kids but damned if I'm gonna drive myself up the wall making them a costume - no less 7 of the damned things.

This is where you and I see differently. I showed that page to my GF and this one made my us want to have a baby ewok. How can you NOT be touched by that? That is the absolute cutest thing I have ever seen in my entire life! I WILL have a baby ewok someday....promise!
