Nanda Keon Posted October 10, 2005 Posted October 10, 2005 Do any of you out there have pet snakes because I have two corn snakes named Dot and Sid, If you can can you say the species and name (I really want a Boa constrictor but I'm not allowed one but I'm happy with Dot and Sid)
The Doctor Posted October 10, 2005 Posted October 10, 2005 I could never own a snake. They're actually kind of useless. You can't play with them, you can't scratch their ears, and they can't comfort you when you're sad. Cats and Dogs are better, but that's just my opinion.

I don't have any snakes, and they aren't the kinda pet I'd want to have.And the fact that if they don't like you they'll kill you in your sleep adds to it.

Their ugly, they're useless, and most chicks are freaked out by them, so they aren't exactly chick-magnets.

He used to feed them with live chickens Snakes (and tarantulas) are part of the "pets" I don't want to own. I'd rather have a live chicken! (I had one when I was a kid but the maid kill it one day when we went for vacations ) Also, not only you can<t scratch their ears as mentioned by The Doctor but since they are cold blooded animals, it's also rather weird when you touch them.

And that must suck having lost a chicken, I had 2 (one hen and one rooster) but the neighboor complained to the city and we had to give them away.

Snakes are cleaner because they eat their food whole so there won't be much mess apart from a little red stain if the pinky (newborn mouse) has had severe frostbite and its legs have fallen off
kdsphantom Posted October 11, 2005 Posted October 11, 2005 aye i had snakes as pets before, they are very cool pets and you can to cuddle adn pet them. as cold blooded they will cuddle with you while you are running about with your Jedi, a 1/2 naked Bastila and a crazy robot saving the day. there skin is very very soft. and if they even happen to bite you its just a mistake, but it doesnt hurt worse then slamming your finger in a car door, (heh yes i have had both happen) But i myself do like cats more so then snakes, but cats think they are the owners, snakes jsut dont care, and im sorry about your chicken Darth333

You get someone to come over everyday to feed them and change their litter box. If they're outdoor cats (which is a bad idea), then they'll be fine on their own for a while.
