Deac
Imperial Base, Gallery Level *The lift door opens and Deac, Kal and two troopers enter the concourse, weapons ready. A large gantry hangs over a series of deactivated workstations, now covered in several shimmering portals, to lands unremarkable and bizzare. One leads to the now destroyed wreck of the Avatar facility. Several creatures wander, ranging from simple cows to flying Jellyfish* Deac: Fan out. If it comes at you, kill it. We need to see which of these the Empire's been going through. Solider: I'm not so sure we can tell. They look pretty random to me. Probably from when the infrastructure went down. Deac: This would explain how the scientists escaped. I wonder if the portal's still open.
BattleDog
*Kal moves to one of the work stations, the furthest one from a portal* Kal: I'm trying to bring up the holo-logs. *Pause* It looks like they got corrupted when the power went down. Its an older system, the logs get encypted every fifteen minutes, if we're lucky the last footage should still be in temporary storage. *He works at the system.* Kal: Yes! We have the last seven minutes of playback. I'm downloading it so that when we get back to the ship we can clean it up fo analysis. *Kal hits play and a fuzzy hologram with no sound appears, one of the scientists points to a portal and the others run through, then he locks the console and truns through after them.*
Redwing
((OOS: FYI BD, the main evacuation took ships and went through portals that they had opened themselves - portals they knew the destinations to. The ones here would have been ripped open by escaped experiments. Also, the recording systems in the facility are very good and also very inaccessible. (Better than the life support, in fact.) This however could be a backup system designed by the scientists for their own use once contact with their Imperial commanders was cut off. Both would be in the backup datacores that Deac's team is currently looking for. I suppose those scientists could have been left behind, though, and had to take a risk and get away on their own. In fact I'll just go with that. I would've PMed you with information that would've told you this (as I told Deac), but I didn't know you were going to do anything there. )) Imperial Base, Gallery Level *The footage continues. An eerie figure walks into view, stumbling eerily. It seems vaguely humanoid but covered in a roiling blackness, obscuring its face, one of its arms, both its hands, and wrapping around its torso and down its legs. Details are hard to make out through the fuzziness. As it stumbles it raises its black-encased arm to the side and runs its hand along the air, as one would run a hand along a wall. Abruptly a rip appears around its fingers and grows wider as the figure walks forward. Then the figure rips its hand away and the tear in reality hangs there, a new portal, matching all the rest but opening to yet another landscape. The figure startles, suddenly, and tumbles to the side as two bestial things, also half-covered in the blackness, rush by on all fours. One is trailing black-laced blood from a wound ripped in its side. A flash of orange-red whizzes by, just missing the creatures before they go out of range. It leaves a smoking, melted crater in the floor - a disruptor bolt. Another figure runs past, holding a pistol. This figure is lithe and humanoid, identifiable as female. One of her arms is engulfed in black. She stops, noticing the humanoid figure, now struggling to get up. Her lips move. Then she fires the pistol at it, once, twice, three times, leaving two smoking holes in its body and one in its head. The creature reaches out its hands as if trying to catch itself, or as if to plead. Twin portals rip open arund its arms as it falls. The woman walks up to the body and pushes it through one of the portals until it falls through, as if over a precipice, and vanishes into the other world. Then she walks out of view. After a couple more minutes a small bird flies in through one of the new portals along the floor and lands on the floor, looks around as if baffled, then, flies off.* ---------- Ten Days Ago Coruscant, Abandoned Financial District, Shadow Base *Gilian and Orion sit in a small room. Lily Aren enters, flanked by two guards who she waves away after a moment. She signals for silence, then puts down a small device on the table that unfolds itself, emits a ringing sound, then glows briefly before silencing itself.* Aren: There. Privacy. You know, I'm surprised. I expected Rwos to pull something like this... but not you. Gilian: Why not? Didn't you tell me you knew the vampire Enelya always did what she pleased? Aren: Well, exactly. I didn't expect you to give this dimension another thought. Rwos is the one who cares about these people. Not you. Your actions don't really seem to jibe with the image people have of you. So why'd you come? Gilian: We managed to translate more of the Blood Scrolls. Also, we captured K'Warra K'laar. Aren: We caught a little of that raid on our monitors. Frankly I'm impressed, mostly by how brilliant your timing was. I bet it was Slythe who completed the act, though, wasn't it? Gilian: Actually, yes... how did you know? Aren: I have some pretty impressive sources. You might be surprised. Gilian: I'm sure. But right now I care more about the prophecies. The mystery child. Aren: You know about her? Oh, of course... K'Warra, right? Sejhan was sloppy. Ironic, really. The best laid plans... Gilian: We know he plans to kill her. We know how, but we don't know why. Aren: He hasn't exactly been forthcoming about the why to us either. I'm not sure what you expect I'll do about this. Sejhan has a long-standing contract with us to carry out this project. It's not in my hands to stop it. It's going to happen anyway, and if I screw it up, if I don't follow the proper timeline, someone else will take over. Think of it as damage control. *She folds her hands* Besides, I'm not killing her. Just finding her. Gilian: I know. Which is why I came. I want to see Cyrus Duncan. Kuuki
*Korriban* *The blaster bolt flys at F Irvine's head, it gets almost a meter near it and F Irvine spins away, ending up facing at the Elf. He force pulls Irvine's crimson saber to him and he ignites it, holding it in his right hand wide and out to his side, using his left to provide a 'hand gesture'*

Redwing
((Deac, haven't you said that for several threads now? However: I do plan on finishing alot of plotlines I've set up within the next few months (so likely within this thread), getting most of my characters out of the way so I can actually keep posting when school starts. I don't see a need to end the Cantina threads altogether, since they're so all-purpose. But I'm going to be wrapping some of my stuff up (basically everything but the Apocalypse storyline, which can be delayed or sped up as necessary). BD, I have a plan to remove Cracken and the entire 'royal family' (including Starr, leaving a power vacuum unlike the last times this happened) out of the way for your plotline, I just need to get ahold of Cracken to confirm it. Really its implementation depends on whether that slacker wants to post now that it's summertime, or not. ) R15: Zero chance of Galaxies. Redwing
Blade Ship Silver *As the Aesir and the other Blades remain silent* Rwos: Why is it so important to Sejhan to kill Gerd? K'Warra: That's the billion-dollar question, isn't it? Sejhan, as a shifter demon, is an agent of chaos, of change. So is Gerd. She is named "Jotun" in the Blood Scrolls. The Jotuns represent the forces of antediluvian chaos and the ascendancy of nature in all its untamed, destructive glory. The Aesir represented the forces of order-based culture that opposed them, again at the logical extreme. The Blood Scrolls draw direct parallels between the Aesir and the Jotuns of our dimension and the Aesir and Jotuns of this dimension. So... theoretically, at least, Sejhan and Gerd should be on the same side. ----------- Eight Days Ago Coruscant, Abandoned Financial District, Shadow Base *Gilian enters a small, dimly lit room, occupied only by a small table and two chairs. A man in a coat sits in one, crossbow strapped to his back, carving a piece of fruit with a knife.* Gilian: Hello, Cyrus Duncan. Cyrus: Greetings, Angel of Death. Gilian: That was a long time ago. Cyrus: Demons never change. Gilian: Then why are you working for one? Cyrus: Because there is nothing left for me in this life but vengeance. This demon has offered me vengeance. What do you plan to offer me? Gilian: Redemption. Cyrus: A demon, offering redemption? Gilian: I was only a demon for a time. I was human, like you, once. Cyrus: You were never again human once the Devil took you for his bride. Gilian: Let me tell you a secret, Cyrus Duncan. Even the Devil was an angel once. There is no such thing as absolute evil. I was an agent of evil. I changed. And you've changed too. Except you're turning in the opposite direction. Cyrus: One who destroys a monster babe in its cradle saves the lives of every innocent creature the monster would have grown up to destroy. And when this monster falls at my hand, I will have the justice I've slept thirty-five hundred years to exact. Gilian: Justice? How do you see killing a little girl as justice? What happened to you over the centuries? Cyrus: I had a little girl once. The Jotuns tortured her, ripped her limb from limb before immolating her still-living body in flames. This girl is the descendant of the Jotuns who did that to her. Would it not then be justice if I did the same thing to this girl? Gilian: No. Vengeance, not justice. And a poor form of vengeance at that. The Jotuns who killed your family are thirty-five hundred years dead. They won't be hurt in any way. Duncan: Then of course I must take whatever form of vengeance fate will offer me. Gilian: Sejhan is using you, Cyrus. You're an agent of evil. Take it from a former agent of evil herself: you'll get no satisfaction out of this. None of your vaunted justice. All you'll do is act out your role as a demon's gamepiece. Think about it. A demon wants someone killed. Shouldn't you be asking why? Cyrus: It does not matter to me why, Enelya. Not anymore. Vengeance is all that matters. And vengeance I shall have. Gilian: You could be destroying the world by killing this girl. Doesn't that matter to you at all? Cyrus: What do you really know about this girl, Enelya? Do you know what she is? What she may do? I am not the foolish gamepiece you think I am. Do you hope to redeem yourself by saving her? This girl is a being of absolute evil. Her destiny is to destroy the world. This is truth, whether or not you wish to accept it. And this child, this demon - will perish at my hands. And I will have my vengeance. And my peace. Nothing you say will make any difference. Gilian: Then I have nothing left to say to you. *She rises and walks out of the room. Duncan takes a bite of his piece of fruit*

Blade Ship: Silver Vidar: Sejhan wants Gerd dead because she is a threat to him of somekind. Perhaps he sees that she will cause him to lose power, or for some plot of his to fail.
