Tysyacha
KOTOR is my absolute favorite role-playing game of all time. It beats EverQuest by a mile for me, despite the latter game's superabundance of nifty player-useable items. I wish... ..that there was a KOTOR-era multiplayer game/mod, although on the scale of Neverwinter Nights or Guild Wars, not EQ. BioWare and LucasArts would make it, and SOE would stay the heck out of the way. Here are my ideas... --You start out as a Soldier, Scoundrel, or Scout. At level 5, you can choose whether or not you want to be a Jedi. --The Alignment (Light/Dark Side) system stays, but not the Influence. It would just be too hard to do with so many PC's and NPC's all in the same space. However, I like EQ's "faction" idea, where you can gain greater faction with the Jedi or the Sith depending on your deeds. --There are more items that are Light Side or Dark Side only, Neutral only, and specific to one's player class in the game. --Short cinematic sequences, a la Guild Wars, are involved. --A la Morrowind, you can be punished if you are caught stealing, murdering, or attacking someone without cause. You either pay a fine of credits, or your skills get bumped down a point because you're doing hard labor (but your Strength or Stamina is increased by 1 to compensate.) --You can choose from several dialogue options when dealing with NPC's, although there will be a chat box for PC encounters. I love KOTOR, but I get lonely playing it sometimes. I'd love to play a KOTOR multiplayer mod with you posters on the forums!!! More ideas? Let me hear 'em! --Tysyacha
Vladimir-Vlada
Aye! My friend you found the wrong place to post this thought. The idea of KOTOR being a multiplayer is respected as much as flaming here (well not really, sugesting that wouldn't get you banned), people here are VERY sensitive when it comes to this. I mean no offence, but you should watch out for some members because you will get a lot of rants from many members. I personally don't like the idea of KOTOR being a multiplayer, but you have your opinion as much as I do. So get ready for a lot of flaming, my friend. Good luck. Oh and by the way: If you are thinking of making a new game that is disconnected from the KOTOR story, but placed in the KOTOR era as a multiplayer with this, it might work. Some sugestions: In the D20 rules, they allow mounts (read vehicles), so they could be inserted also. If this works than I might support it. At least it would be better than that piece of s**t Galaxies.
90SK
Yes, a KotOR era mp game would be awesome. Not to be confused with Multiplayer for a KotOR game. Or whatever. I love playing in the -4,000 year time period in general, and multiplayer would enhance the experience a lot.
Det. Bart Lasiter
As long as it's implemented well and players can make their own modules I think it would be a good idea.

stoffe
Personally I would have to say no. I've yet to try any RPG with a multiplayer part that would allow me to get caught up in the story and immersed in the world. People tend to be too much out of character to be able to be able to suspend disbelief. (At least unless you happen to have a group of friends you know well who play the same game at the same time, which rarely happens in my case.) Multiplayer RPG games tend to turn into a Diablo loot&slaughterfest action game. Besides, when I play RPGs I tend to want to play a character who is someone special. In a multiplayer game your character will just be one in the crowd. For multiplayer games, I tend to prefer games like first/third person shooters. With no story or game world immersion suspension of disbelief is no problem.
Olympus
First, we definentally need a Mandalorian wars FPS. That would rule my face. And to KOTOR being multiplayer, no. The engine just wouldn't work for MP. But something of the era would be nice. And, to stoffe, I'm not sure what exactly you're looking for with that multiplayer RPG that you can get immersed in, but the closest I can think of is Guild Wars. Not often a loot and slaughterfest because as soon as you leave the town (where players congregate) you get your own copy of the world that is actually influenced by your decisions. [Also, eliminates that annoying WHAR DUU I GO 4 DIS KWEST UALELOL!? (a la World of Warcraft) because when you select a quest you get a map marker and a minimap arrow guiding you. Idiotproof].
