Also using swords there is skill required, instead of just large quantities. As well as that it takes more courage to use a sword than it takes to use a gun. And swords being more stylish. So swords are the way to go
REDJOHNNYMIKE Posted January 16, 2006 Posted January 16, 2006 I was surprised reading this, I never checked it out cuz I thought it would be a hippie commune Swords are cool, but I vote every other thursday at precisely 5:00PM (depending on timezone) the entire world partakes in a 3 hour fight club, guns and swords will still fulfil the same roles they always have, but after beating the living crap out of a crowd of people many possible murderers will be satisfied and way too tuckered out to get off the coach and mow down a city square.

They got rid of the all the weapons, and were promptly invaded by aliens using slingshots. They were saved when someone decided to fight back using a board with a nail in it. I think they did another one where they got rid of all the guns in town, and were immediately taken over by a band of zombie bandits that had guns. Leave it to the Simpsons to solve all the important debates for you...

Destroying Guns would just cause a regression as we all agree, further a regression in tech might inspire everyone to go back to war; since by the time you get rid of guns nukes will be long gone. Here in the UK guns are banned, gun crime has gone up, sharply.
Darth InSidious Posted January 18, 2006 Posted January 18, 2006 Actually, you can still own and fire a rifle, 'though you have to fire it on a range (obviously), and obtain a licence. You can also obtain a revolver, but you can't fire it at all, keep rounds etc etc etc ad nauseam.
BattleDog Posted January 18, 2006 Posted January 18, 2006 Rifles are only .22 calibre, revolvers have to be of an oblsolete nature. I saw an article in The Times about the Olympic team trying to get the laws relaxed as at the momment they are training in Switzerland.
