stingerhs
ok, so its really more speculation than anything, but this is by far the best news i've read today. anyways, check here for more info.

El Sitherino
I don't really see any reason to believe they'd port it. The only reason it was released on PC last time was because up until Microsoft purchased Bungie, Halo was going to be a Macintosh game. Personally, I'd prefer they make Oni 2. Gimme some classic Oni action with Multiplayer and I'll be one happy son of a bitch.
stingerhs
I'll believe it when I see it. untill then Its all just a bunch of rumors true, but this is a heck of a lot more concrete that recent rumors i've been hearing about a certain other game discussed on these boards.... Soogz
I don't know.... Those are just rumors. Plus Halo 3 comes out in a few months, so I don't see why they would be releasing Halo 2 on PC this late...

If they wanted a port, they would've done it in 2005, not at this time. It just seems like marketing suicide.
RevanA4
true, but this is a heck of a lot more concrete that recent rumors i've been hearing about a certain other game discussed on these boards.... why not just say it. we all know your talking about kotor 3 anyway. but yeah I agree with you. still it seems kinda late to do so. but as usual microsft has taken its own sweet time. ET Warrior
And if it does get ported to the PC, all the PC players will be talking about how sweet Halo 2 is, while the Xbox players scoff and go back to Halo
Hallucination
^And I'll be there, scoffing at the guys who just got it. Although I think a lot of people will be really happy if it happened, I just don't see it in the near future.
stingerhs
actually, Halo 3 may not be coming out anytime soon. heck, Bungie hasn't even admitted to working on Halo 3. the only reason why people think Halo 3 is going to come out this year is because of one statement Bill Gates made several months ago which he has since retracted. yeah, it might come out this year, but i highly doubt it. hey, at least it'll be 'super cool'. Vladimir-Vlada
I see. So, they think that by porting a great game, whose gameplay was purpousley ruined to acustom its original machine (X-BOX), to PC, one of the most advanced machines in the world, that they can get rich quickly? They can do whatever they want. They're not getting anything from me.

Vladimir-Vlada
On the contrary, it is completely ironic. I remember one case also. Remember Deus Ex? Well, at first, that game was made for PC only, since the gameplay and the story were too complicated for any console at that time (and for any console today now that you think of it). But when X-BOX came, the second part of Deus Ex (Invisible War) had degraded gameplay. Why do I say degraded? Because that game was the first (and only) sucessful (even a lot sucessful) hybrid of FPS and RPG. In Deus Ex: Insvisible War, they made the areas smaller, there were less characters, the game was shorter and the RPG elements were completely torn out. Why? Because X-BOX players can't use such a complex gameplay. Ironic, isn't it?

On the other hand, Halo: CO was well-accepted by critics and got great reviews. I've played the game at a friend's place and I feel it's a great game/port. Unlike IW, it's not ruined, but feels more like it was made for the PC itself. To summarize, it was not ruined IMO.

I played also Halo: Combat Evloved. Pretty good, since X-Box wasn't that much employed in the game world. The first one was good. And I admit that maybe I shouldn't judge the second part since I don't know how it worked out. But, the problem is, I get the feeling that this one isn't going to be as good as the first one. stingerhs
it depends on how you look at it. for me, its more of a controls issue: the mouse & keyboard system is much faster than the duel joysticks the consoles use, and its a lot easier to aim properly. otherwise, i've played both PC & Xbox versions of the first game and i've also played the second game. the multiplayer is fantastic on both games, and the single-player portions on both are equally satisfying. the story isn't quite as good in the second one, though, since it leaves everything unresolved (ie, a 'cliffhanger'). Vladimir-Vlada
since it leaves everything unresolved (ie, a 'cliffhanger'). Why do you say that it is unsolved? Halo was destroyed, the Plague has been stopped. Is it because of that last image when you see Guity Sparks travel through space from the Halo wreckage? stingerhs
no, the story in Halo 2 is unresolved. it gives you this cliffhanger ending that, on my first playthrough, had me going, "WTF???"

stingerhs
That good, huh?don't get me wrong, the gameplay was way above par. its just the story builds up to the one climatic point, and then it ends. that would be one reason why so many gamers want Halo 3 to come out within days.
