Crow_Nest Posted July 28, 2006 Posted July 28, 2006 My dad just sent me this email, pretty hilarious if you know your math
Dagobahn Eagle Posted July 28, 2006 Posted July 28, 2006 The expanding one is hilarious. Downright hilarious. The last one too. The one with "finding x" I've seen before, but it's still good.
Crow_Nest Posted July 29, 2006 Author Posted July 29, 2006 Pretty good. lol, poor student probably drew a picture of himself getting hanged.
IG-64 Posted July 29, 2006 Posted July 29, 2006 Ugg, that brought some bad memories >_> Just wait till you get to college (which I assume you're going to and also assume you're not in yet). My friend took calculus one and two and said it was one of the hardest things he's ever done.

IG-64 Posted July 30, 2006 Posted July 30, 2006 Calculus A and B were my two favorite math courses... does that make me weird? Calculus in high school or college? Because those are very different things.
Det. Bart Lasiter Posted July 30, 2006 Posted July 30, 2006 Calculus in high school or college? Because those are very different things. I've taken both. I took Calculus A and B at my high school then started taking my math and/or science courses (like Calculus) at Harvard Extension school shortly after.

Det. Bart Lasiter Posted July 30, 2006 Posted July 30, 2006 Noooo way I'm taking Calculus in college. >_> All the cool kids take Calculus though...
Nerd_Annhilator Posted July 30, 2006 Posted July 30, 2006 The first one and Chase's made me laugh pretty damn hard XD
Commander Obi-Wan Posted July 30, 2006 Posted July 30, 2006 lol. Those are pretty funny. Though, I am still doing that kind of math.
Lightsaberboy Posted July 31, 2006 Posted July 31, 2006 College calculus was easy. Maybe it was cause i took AP calc and got a 2 on it, but I aced all 3 quarters of first year calculus, and hardly went to class.

Agen Posted August 7, 2006 Posted August 7, 2006 That is inspiring. Any chance you could forward that e-mail your my good self?
Mike Windu Posted August 7, 2006 Posted August 7, 2006 I'm about to take AP Calc tomorrow. Wish me luck. To be honest though, all my friends who've taken calc say it's pretty fun, and somewhat mindblowing like ap physics... I like math... I just hate all the work. It'd be rather silly imo not to take advanced math in college... easy money when you get out.
Rogue15 Posted August 7, 2006 Posted August 7, 2006 can someone explain to me how to use calculus in day-to-day activities that don't involve being a teacher or scientist?
Lightsaberboy Posted August 7, 2006 Posted August 7, 2006 What if some guy jumps you in an alley, puts a gun to your head, and says "Solve this calculus problem!" If you don't know calculus, then you're screwed.
Mike Windu Posted August 7, 2006 Posted August 7, 2006 Yeah... then what are you going to do? Draw a picture of Bob hanging himself on a math problem?
