Titanius Anglesmith
Never put the Madden cover player on your team. Thats like shooting yourself in the foot... multiple times. Yep, the Madden Curse. It's happened to every player on the front of Madden for the past few years. I should've thought about that when I drafted him. thats whats so great about my Fantasy team. I don't have any real key players. Well if your quarterback gets injured in the first game and is out for the year, your number 2 halfback gets injured before the season starts and is out all year, and your number 1 receiver does poorly and then about 6 weeks into the season gets injured for 4-5 weeks, that kinda makes Shaun Alexander your key player. And btw, all of those things happened to my team. But I guess that makes up for my crazy run of luck last year. It was my first year doin fantasy football, I had no injuries all year, I went 12-1, but then I lost in the first round of the playoffs and ended up in 5th place. Cygnus Q'ol
BEARS vs. PACKERS Most would say this game means nothing. Most would say it doesn't matter what happens. Most would say there's really no point. You wanna know what I say? I say, Are you ready for some football? (cue music and ACTION!) Take one- camera zooms in on Cygnus and PINK dancing on that rooftop in the opening segment. Take two- Cygnus grabs PINK by the hand and twirls her into his arms and dips her to the rhythm. Take one- Camera one shows Cygnus bustin' a move and gettin' freaky with it. Take two- Camera shows PINK laying Cygnus out with an uppercut/hook combination. (End music- fade to black.) ...sorry. Believe it or not the SLACKERS are still in the hunt, barely. They would have to win this game and a couple of other pieces need to fall into place for them to get to post season. For obvious reasons, I don't think they'll make it. But, that doesn't mean they won't try. The Bears on the other hand are not laying down for this one. Hopefully they've learned the lesson of ending the regular season strong and taking some momentum into the playoffs. Hopefully history won't repeat itself. This should be one fun game. Jae Onasi
Green Bay can clinch playoff berth with: 1. A miracle 2. The moon, planets, and stars all align in a mystical conjunction and Packer fans hold their breaths for 4 seconds while doing 4 somersaults after 4 hops while eating 4 bratwurst, 4 Lil Smokies in BBQ sauce, 4 bags of Doritoes, 4 bowls of onion dip, 4 pieces of German chocolate cake, all washed down with 4 beers. 3. A miracle 4. Someone, _anyone_, who can reliably hang on to a Favre ball--I mean, how often does the guy have to hit you in the numbers before you keep the ball in your hands? 5. A miracle 6. The Bears deciding to forfeit (hahahahahahahahaha! I kill myself sometimes) 7. A miracle 8. Not only the Bears not bringing their A game to one of the greatest rivalries on their own turf, but forgetting to bring their games B-Z, too. 9. A miracle
Jae Onasi
Well, not only did the Bears not bring their A-game to Soldier field last night, but games B-Z were out floating in Lake Michigan somewhere, too. Packers should hire Rex--he certainly throws to them more accurately than his own teammates. Sigh.... This does not bode well for the play-offs, unless Lovie told them to ratchet down a notch for this game in order to avoid injuries.

Bob Lion54
Packers should hire Rex--he certainly throws to them more accurately than his own teammates. Sigh.... I've got a question about Grossman. Is he still viewed as the teams franchise quarterback? I've only seen maybe three games with him as a Bear but he played horribly in all three. His QB rating this year is only 73, so that seems to support what I've seen. So whats the deal with Grossman? -------- I fell asleep watching the Saints this weekend. It was a meaningless game for them. Duce McAllister didn't play at all and Drew Brees only played one series then one snap of their second possession. It seems he only went in for the second series so he could walk off the field and everyone see him. It was great though. He got a standing ovation and everyone was yelling "MVP , MVP, MVP!" Jeff
I was at the Bengals game on Sunday, man did they just try to give that game away so many times until Pittsburgh finally took it. It was a fun experience being there though, it was my first NFL game not counting a Lions preseason game a few years ago. And the 1 time I want the Lions to lose they can't do that Dallas should be very embarrassed. I could see if Dallas had nothing to play for, but now they're just a wildcard team and the Eagles won the division. The Lions still will have the #2 pick, hopefully they don't mess this draft up... I've only seen maybe three games with him as a Bear but he played horribly in all three. His QB rating this year is only 73, so that seems to support what I've seen. So whats the deal with Grossman? Lovie's stated repeatedly Grossman's his man. Rex's problem is inexperience because the injuries in the previous seasons have put him on the sideline early in the season (or pre-season), and that's really affected his ability to gain the necessary play-time. This is the first season he's gone all the way through the regular season. As the WGN sports guys note, you don't know if good Rex will show up or Bad Rex. if Good Rex shows up, he does a great job, particularly when the O-line protects him well and he's not having to throw the long balls. When bad Rex shows up, he's just dog-awful and it's really put his QB rating in the dumper. If you look at it game by game, you can pretty much tell which games they won/lost just by looking at Rex's numbers. I think they would have left Rex in this last game if it had any meaning so that Rex could work his way out of the jam, but I believe Lovie wanted Griese to get some time on the field, so they pulled Rex finally. The interceptions killed them for sure, but the D was playing so lackluster that the Packers just waltzed into the endzone far too easily. Let's hope Good Rex shows up for the playoffs. Taos
My first post in this thread - Now, living as close to Seattle as I do, one might assume that I'm a big Seahawks fan...well, I'm not. My feeling on them is best described as "meh." Granted I root for them, hope they do well etc and I still think they got screwed over in the Super Bowl, but that's a whole other story. Now, the team I really like is the Baltimore Ravens. With the addition of Steve McNair this year, they have shown they do in fact have an offense and don't rely on their defense to do it all for them. Of course, when Brian Billick started to call their plays instead of the offensive coordinator, that was really big too as they began to utilize their strong running game a lot more. Anyways, I like their chances and am excited to see how things go for them. I certainly wouldn't want to be a team having to face the Raven's in the playoffs with their defense. What's the saying we all hear over and over during playoff times? "Defense wins championships." I'm hoping this will be the case this year for the Ravens. Cygnus Q'ol
Using the unforgettable line from Atton Rand, "I've got a bad feeling about this." These are the keys as far as I, Cygnus, see them. Grossman His problem is along the same lines as Jae has stated. He's an unexperienced QB with a history of season ending injuries. This has never been more prevelant than in his performances of late. Good/Bad Grossman shows up depending on his comfort level which is determined by his lack of experience. If you noticed, Grossman's good games came when everything fell together for him. He can only play well when everything is working perfectly. When the blocking is there consistently, when the recievers run perfect routes, when there's a passing lane there for him without moving too much and when the playcalling catches the defense off guard. Then he seems unstoppable. If any of these circumstances aren't there, he panics and whips it up for grabs. If I were Olin Kreutz, I'd be a little upset. Many of the sacks and hurried throws could have been avoided by a simple two or three step forward into the pocket and a decent controlled throw. He seems to always be running backwards to avoid pressure and then a lofted toss from his back foot ensues. ...and we've seen the result of that. Defense Without Mike Brown comming up from the back like a missle on run plays and controlling the backfield by barking orders and adjusting personnel, rookie Daniael Manning and Ricky Manning (unrelated) are having trouble finding the correct positions on many third down plays. Vasher is a bit behind from his great season last year and the Bears are having a heck of a time stopping the run without the penetrating nose tackle Tommie Harris. Urlacher can't do it all. Brett Favre did more than just beat us. If anyone of those teams that could face the Bears were watching, or review tape, his exploitation of the Bears defense could prove troublesome in the playoffs. Bottom line: The Bears better get their stuff together, and quick, or this will be a very short playoff run. ...trying to keep the faith
stingerhs
well, you can scratch off the Cowboys and the Chiefs. my only comments on those games is that it was a tough way to end a promising season for Romo. well, at least his career as a holder. Taos
I didn't think the Chiefs offense was really all that good, but I don't follow them, so I don't know for sure....Indy defense looked pretty good though. But somethings gotta give next week when they play the Ravens. Count on Ray Lewis and company to be ready for Indy. Should be fun to watch! And Seattle...they've been doing that crap all season long...just barely getting by. In the end though...a win is a win..and in the playoffs..that is all that matters. So I'll just keep rooting for them, even though I don't see them getting past this next game...but who knows, I never thought Romo would botch the hold either. Bob Lion54
Well, everyones favourite player is the backup quarterback... Until he plays. Cowboys are overrated this year. Still, the way it ended was unexpected. The Chiefs/Colts game could have gone either way, though.
