Looking into a better cell phone service

Hey everybody. As the title suggests, I'm looking to go through a different cell phone company. I have Sprint PCS and I have to say that I'm not exactly happy. Their phones are all the same and for what I'm paying for my plan (roughly $65-70/month) I've seen ads for other companies that have almost the same plan for cheaper. I have another year left on the contract and I know that I'm going to pay the $150 contract cancellation fee. What I need to know is what are some of your opinions on the companies that you have. I don't want to turn this into "Verizon sucks" thread or anything like that unless you have had bad experieces with that company. Any input would be great.

I've had Cingular since my first cell phone, and haven't had any problems with its service.

I think the cellphone you get makes the difference in what you'll get out of your service. I had a crappy nokia phone since I got my car, and it was... somewhat less than decent. Once that finally broke, I got a Sony Ericsson and I love it. I find myself getting much better signals, and the games rock much harder.

I'm currently on Verizon and I really don't have any complaints. I think most networks these days have free inter-network calling plans, so I'd suggest looking at whatever the people you call the most are using. Most of my friends are Verizon, and so I need fewer anytime minutes since most of my calls are free.

Cingular here too :D

I've completed (2) 2-year leases (for the phone discounts) and currently don't have one (lease) with them, but I've enjoyed their service so much.. I'll stick with them and my old phone model for now.

Can't beat the nice discount on the kewl phones with a 2 year renewal though... I'll probably sign up for another dedicated 2 years just to upgrade here in a few weeks ;)

International coverage, plus I have more roll-over minutes than I think there is in a year :xp:

meh, those Swedish no good engineers can't do anything right. Nokia on the other hand has served me well these past 6 years. Haven't had any problems.

I love my Nokia 6170 (but maybe it just has to do with the fact that i'm Finnish :p)

I use verizon and I'm happy with my service. I have a crappy phone because my nice one got stolen, but the service is great. And we have an old plan so we barely pay anything per month compared to their current plans, but I guess that wouldn't help you.

I have Cingular right now as well, and I've not had one dropped call since I switched from Sprint. My only complaint right now is that the LG Chocolate is Verizon-only :(

Its a gorgeous phone, tue, but its got rubbish specs and the lightup kepypad is apparently very slow. So i wouldn't be too upset. There is a smasung that looks very similar (not QUITE as nice, but still good) that has much better specs.

I just got a sony ericsson w810i and i gotta say it is a very sweet phone. I would have prefered a slider or a flip phone, but none of them was much good. (with the possible exception of the samsung d900.. or if i'd been willing to pay more to get a 3g phone).

I don't actually use my phone that much, so i just got 125 x-net anytime minutes and 100 texts a month for £20 a month with a free phone and 9 months cashback. Thats a pretty good deal for my needs. If i sell my old d500 on ebay i can probably end up getting the phone and a year's calls and texts for free.
