Star Wars T.V. series casting rumor

I can get behind Josh... but Kreuk?

Okay yeah, you stay behind him, id be more than happy to get behind her.

As for the films, yes McDiarmid was brilliant in Episode 3 apart from a few cheesy lines he had to deliver but as for McGregor and Jackson... Ick. McGregor's accent was terrible and it's worse in the big battle scene in the opening of Episode 3, he sounds Irish half the time. Jackson.. yeah he pulled most of it off specially the Arena scene in Ep 2 but his death was well..crap. He screamed all whiney like a little girl and should have been decapitated by the Emperor for effect.

Ian McDiarmid is a strong contender...

Yup.

Out of all the actors, McDiarmid is the standout, handling all of his lines (even the bad ones) with great skill, and making his character the most believeable. For me at least, he made the prequels watchable, from an acting point of view.

At one time or another, all of the others seemed out of place. Maybe they were uncomfortable with their lines or with interacting with CGI characters (I think Liam Neeson said something to the effect that he "felt like a puppet"). McDiarmid is the only one who didn't seem to be reading from cue cards.

GL needs come up with the ideas, and let someone else do the writing and directing. Otherwise, with the exception of hardcore Star Wars fans (like me :xp: ), this series will fail to capture and keep an audience. If GL does "hand it off" after a season or two (assuming it survives that long despite his best efforts to undermine and destroy it like he did the movies :xp: ), it could possibly end up like Star Trek: The Next Generation. That series SUCKED its first season, then gradually got better and better until it became one of the best shows on TV (SciFi or not) at the time. One can only hope.

My biggest fear is that GL and company will find an excuse to sneak that cheesy-a$$ed "Wilhelm Scream" into every friggin' episode.

(Dunno about explicit visuals etc...best one from my 'stash' :xp: )

Yup. *Snipzor* My biggest fear is that GL and company will find an excuse to sneak that cheesy-a$$ed "Wilhelm Scream" into every friggin' episode.

George Lucas is known for shooting a scene for only 5 times. Not every actor can make a good scene from the start, some even need to warm up. You should compare The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi with eachother. It's quit obvious which one was directed by Lucas.

And experienced actors like McDarmid, Neeson and even McGregor can realy 'play' in thise 5 scenes they are granted. But rookies like Christensen (possibly) don't have that skill yet.

To conclude:

Kristin Kreuk...slave dancer outfit from ESB...any thoughts, HerbieZ?* :D

I work in the medical field. After seeing I don't know how many people having procedures, it's just another human. None of them have anything I haven't seen before. Now if they start growing some kind of weird raniskran out of their backs, that might pique my interest.

Let me go look for my man-stash.... :xp:

Holy moley!

That's just...

I can't believe...

How did you know about the Kristin image with the raniskran? :xp:

[serious mode]

My image of you has been severly damaged now..every time I see you post from now, I'll be thinking of amputation and House M.D. :D

No...Imo, people working in hospitals can the whole 'care-sector' get paid to little for what they do. If you compare what It costs to take someones life to what it costs to save someone life...

Actually out of the prequel trilogy, i consider Liam Neeson to be the best actor in them all combined. He actually played the part well and believable.

After watching his performance in Episode I, I was bummed out that he was killed off early. It would have been nice to see him in Episode II. I was more interested in Liam's character than Anikan. Too bad. Maybe someone will write another novel based upon his character. Qui-Gon was a really cool character.

Indeed! None of them. GL only directed Ep4.

No one in the prequels acts well. There are very talented actors (Neeson, McGregor, Portman, McDiarmid) in there it's just the direction (GL) that is unskilled. I can easily say that those actors make the top 20 list of best actors right now, but regardless of their actual skill, they are putting out their weakest performance of their careers in the prequels.

@Jae

Why don't you give the thread a sample from your stash, eh? Someone who would make a great Jedi-on-the-run or a swashbuckling-space-smuggler. You know?

Just pick any one of them off the Chippendales website. They're all yummy.

Or, the ever-sexy Orlando Bloom, who would make a very nice scoundrel:

He can leave rose petals in my room any time. ;)

And I love men in armor....

The men before Jimbo:

Shaun Cassidy, who played Joe Hardy in The Hardy Boys

Richard Dean Anderson in MacGyver

And, because firemen are always hot, and because he's one of the main reasons I'm in the medical field, Randolph Mantooth (Johnny Gage in Emergency!)

@Jason: These are the 'clean' ones that are postable here on a family-friendly forum. The Chippendales ones would be a bit much for this forum. ;P

Besides, I have Jimbo at home. ;)
