Tysyacha
(Book Idea) What if... ...a powerful presence decided to play God and destroy not only the Earth, but all the planets and the universe because it is, in his or her eyes, defective? Imagine this presence had so much power that he or she could do this, but only with the help of my protagonist as an accomplice to increase its effectivness? The Presence believes that only if the universe had a clean slate could another universe be formed anew. Of course, this presence is ultimately willing to sacrifice himself or herself, and the life of my protagonist as well. Some questions: 1. Is this idea scary to you? 2. This is kind of like the Flood of Genesis x 1000. If the Presence succeeds, will the plan work? Do you think the universe will be reborn and everything will go "right" as the Presence planned? 3. Do you believe it is right of the Presence to put an end to all the pain and chaos the universe has, or is the Presence nuts? Sincerely, Tysyacha
Samnmax221
On the Sam and Max animated series there was a character named Lactose the Intolerant who wanted to do that. Then he became a Cafeteria mom.
Emperor Devon
This Prescence sounds like a follower of nihilism. How pessimistic.
TSR
Surel blowing up the universe would include this being as well? What the hell is the point of that?

Ztalker
Hmm...destroying something for it's own good seems a bit harsh. Just unleash a global ice age or something...seems alot cooler (And yes i'm playing the new Battlefield...)
Mace MacLeod
1) Well, the destruction of the entire universe is a bit big to wrap one's head around and really be all that scary. 2) It would take some doing to come up with a believable reason why something that could destroy the universe would need an accomplice, and how the entire universe would be "reborn". 3) Also would be hard to explain why something would want to wipe out the entire universe. I mean, a few misbehaving planets or a galaxy that's been entirely colonized or conquered by Bush voters I could see, but the whole universe? A little extreme... 3a) This reminds me of an episode of The Tick...http://www.thetick.ws/car24.php
Torthane
Could be very interesting depending how you do it. Let's hear some more details!
JediMaster12
It's interesting but sounds a bit like Revelation, if you read the Bible though I don't recall the universe being destroyed.
CSI
Well, Seriously, I think this is similiar to Darth Nihilus in KOTOR 2. He's rediculously powerful--erase a star with ease, but in front of the Exile, he's too weak. Well, this is an interesting point. But you don't have to do that. The black hole will do that for you. Remember? [A theory (Only a Theory!) states the universe was created by a very, very small dot. one day, the dot explodes and slowly shaped the Present Universe. Well, if it can expand, then it can shrink back to the dot.]
Samnmax221
ROFL @ Lactose the Intolerant!!! What genius came up with that hahaha That would be Steve Purcell who created Sam and Max. You should go here, you should go here NOW.
Tysyacha
My other idea is to write a fantasy/sci-fi story called "The Year '12", either taking place in 1012 or 2012 A.D. My protagonist, an outspoken young lady, is accused of treason when she speaks out against the ruling class/authoritarian government. It chronicles her 10 years in prison (since she didn't sell any top secret info to the other side) and her temptation from a Kreia-like cellmate who wants to start a war against this government. Such a war, however, could bring far more disaster in the end, with all the bloodshed and lives lost. Hey, Torthane, I was thinking that the arrogant young woman who was going to destroy the universe and then rebuild it in my first idea needed an accomplice as a medium. To channel her power and convince the other humans that they need not die, only "repent" and yield. She does the same thing that Devon does to Tysy in my "The Duel" fic. Maybe the whole universe need not die, only be remade in the arrogant woman's own image. Which idea do you guys like better? --Tysy

The second one (the woman in prison) would likely be easier to write but they both seem to have alot of potential. It's entirely your shot. PS: I'm going to read "The Duel"
