The Tingler
Yes! Despite some early problems with Preordering activation, Sam & Max: Culture Shock is now fully globally altruistically available! Things of note so far, in the office at least: 1. Jesse James's Severed Hand above the closet door. 2. The noticeboard with a poster for The Human Enigma (or "TapHead-Boy" from the Carnival last game), and the paper bag Max Puppet advertised in the Hit The Road manual. 3. The box above the cabinet is dated 03/03/04. That wasn't a good day. 4. Managed to get Sam to drop-kick Max off the screen yet? (complete with shout of "Wheeeee!" from Max)

Metallus
Heh, good idea. I'll do that, and you go find DJG so he can fix Mojo news. Edit: I've done my part.
Samnmax221
They don't let me do the news. Not since I started to give "The State of my colon address".
The Tingler
They weren't really spoilers were they? I'll tag them anyway, to save further complaints. Besides, you all should have bought it by now, and a least seen the office if you've just played the demo (tightwad).
Metallus
And still, no one seems to be able to log into the Mojo news updating thing. This is frustrating
Thrik
Mojo admin is working now; it was a PHP setting that needed changing to account for ye olde scriptage. Credit to Matt for getting on the case!
Joshi
Question, when paying for the game, does anyone know what country to put in in the billing information (off of Telltales site). Only, I live in England and yet I cannot find England, Britain or United Kingdom anywhere (yet I can find Ireland). EDIT Also I'll be getting this from work and taking it home. As I don't have the internet at home will I need any internet connection once it's downloaded (i.e. after installation) for activation or anything? And also how big is the file to download? Metallus
Great Britain, dude.
The Tingler
What he said. And my new personal favourite reference - "That's the second least relaxing sign I've ever seen!" EDIT: Just finished. Very, very good indeed. Got stuck about four times, and worked my way out of each one, finishing with a massive smile. I'm still impressed about working out how to knock out Specs!
Joshi
Great Britain, dude. Are you kidding me? Man, i must be blind or something.

Joshi
Well, I got it, bought and paid for, now I've just gotta finish work and go home to try it out. *sigh* I wish I could work from home. In other news, I did try out the demo over the weekend, and I did notice the injokes under The Tinglers spoiler. Very fun, the beginning credits were especially fun. Laserschwert
Yeah, that took me a while too. I, on the other hand, searched like crazy for "Great Germany"...
Joshi
Okay, so problem. It turns out you do need the interent to activate the damn game, even if you've paid for it. I was hoping it would simply involve a registration key or something, but no, too many key-gens means game companies come up with better ways of activation, which means I need the internet. And big problem, I don't have the internet at home. I have it here at work, but I can't bring my laptop into work for security reasons. So question, does this game write anything to the registry (I'm assuming yes, but I'm hopeful for a no) or can I install it to a portable HD and then take the HD home and ply it off of that. Otherwise what are my options. Anyone?
jp-30
Yeah, you should be able to generate a hardware fingerprint of your home PC via the game interface (not sure where exactly, sorry), then from work email or PM that fingerprint to Emily at Telltale, she'll email you back a registration key. I think that's right, but no guarantees. Try the Telltale support forums next time you're at work.
Joshi
Thanks, I've just started a thread there, hopefully it'll be sorted. I think other people have had similar problems.

Samnmax221
No home internet, and you won't smuggle your laptop into work.
Joshi
No home internet - I barely make enough money to rent my studio apartment and eat at the same time, the cheapest home internet is an additional £20 a month, £11 of which goes to a phone provider I won't need (I need an active phone line to get the internet and I'm already paying £30 on my mobile), so that seems like a waste. As for the laptop thing, you'd be surprised how many security checks I go through before I get to my open planned office. Hell, it's hard enough smuggling my external hard drive in and using it without anyone noticing (by the way, that's an internal Hard Drive in a USB enclosure, so you can guess at the size and it has a seperate power source, not exactly inconspicuous). Oh, and my laptop is a 17 inch beast because I like to play DVD's on it, coupled with the overly padded laptop bag, it's mighty heavy. Now add an hours journey standing on the metro, there and back... no, just no.
