JediMaster12 Posted January 30, 2007 Posted January 30, 2007 @JM12: Is it the Diddies thread? Yep. I guess I'm laying them too easy on ya folks. I have to think harder.
Commander Obi-Wan Posted January 30, 2007 Posted January 30, 2007 Q: If you're 16 feet away from a door and with each move you advance half the distance to the door. How many moves will it take to reach the door?
Rabish Bini Posted January 31, 2007 Author Posted January 31, 2007 ^Is it 4? In summer I wear green, all day and all night. In fall I wear yellow, in winter I wear white.
Commander Obi-Wan Posted January 31, 2007 Posted January 31, 2007 ^Is it 4? Nope. In summer I wear green, all day and all night. In fall I wear yellow, in winter I wear white. A tree. My question stays active. Q: If you're 16 feet away from a door and with each move you advance half the distance to the door. How many moves will it take to reach the door?
Anakin Skywalker Posted January 31, 2007 Posted January 31, 2007 really easy, if you don't get it, then I'll be disappointed... I am black as death, I leave things wet. You are scared of me, but have no reason to be. What am I?

Titanius Anglesmith Posted January 31, 2007 Posted January 31, 2007 Q: If you're 16 feet away from a door and with each move you advance half the distance to the door. How many moves will it take to reach the door? Um... you'll never reach the door because you'll always be moving only half as far as you need to go.
Anakin Skywalker Posted January 31, 2007 Posted January 31, 2007 Nope, not thunderclouds... but very very close
Commander Obi-Wan Posted January 31, 2007 Posted January 31, 2007 Um... you'll never reach the door because you'll always be moving only half as far as you need to go. Yes, indeed. Just takes some common sense to answer that one.
Ctrl Alt Del Posted February 1, 2007 Posted February 1, 2007 really easy, if you don't get it, then I'll be disappointed... I am black as death, I leave things wet. You are scared of me, but have no reason to be. What am I? The blacksea? Okay, horrible.
Aurora Starfire Posted February 1, 2007 Posted February 1, 2007 Okay, um..... thunderstorm? A big truck is crossing a bridge 1 mile long. The bridge can only hold 14000 lbs, which is the exact weight of the truck. The truck makes it halfway over the bridge and stops. A bird lands on the truck. Does the bridge collapse?
The Seeker Posted February 1, 2007 Posted February 1, 2007 Okay, um..... thunderstorm? A big truck is crossing a bridge 1 mile long. The bridge can only hold 14000 lbs, which is the exact weight of the truck. The truck makes it halfway over the bridge and stops. A bird lands on the truck. Does the bridge collapse? No, because if the truck is a mile long and halfway on the bridge then there is only 7000 pounds on the bridge when the bird lands on it. Pass if I'm right. Too tired to think of a riddle right now
Aurora Starfire Posted February 1, 2007 Posted February 1, 2007 Um...... the bridge is 1 mile long, the truck is not 1 mile long. My question still stands...
Anakin Skywalker Posted February 1, 2007 Posted February 1, 2007 Of course it does... the added weight of the bird, even one ounce more causes the bridge to collapse
Aurora Starfire Posted February 1, 2007 Posted February 1, 2007 Nope, I'm afraid that's not the answer either......
Anakin Skywalker Posted February 1, 2007 Posted February 1, 2007 The only other answer would be no...
stoffe Posted February 1, 2007 Posted February 1, 2007 A big truck is crossing a bridge 1 mile long. The bridge can only hold 14000 lbs, which is the exact weight of the truck. The truck makes it halfway over the bridge and stops. A bird lands on the truck. Does the bridge collapse? No, because nobody would allow a vehicle on a bridge that weighs exactly what the bridge could carry without breaking. There are always safety margins.
Aurora Starfire Posted February 1, 2007 Posted February 1, 2007 Well, the answer is no, but that's not the reason why. Bonus points to whoever can explain why the bridge didn't break.
Rabish Bini Posted February 2, 2007 Author Posted February 2, 2007 ^Because a bird doesn't have enough bodymass? Or is it because the truck isn't moving? I run all day but cannot walk, I have a mouth but cannot talk. What am I?
Aurora Starfire Posted February 2, 2007 Posted February 2, 2007 No..... I run all day but cannot walk, I have a mouth but cannot talk. What am I? A river?
