BongoBob Posted March 9, 2007 Posted March 9, 2007 Alright, so who here is going to see 300? I'm going to go see it tomorrow with a group of friends. My parents don't want me watching R rated moves (even though I'm 17), so AFATK, I'm just gonna go chill out with my friend at his house. God I can't wait. (Spoilers put in thread title as a preemptive measure)
Fish.Stapler Posted March 9, 2007 Posted March 9, 2007 I'm going to go see it with a group of friends tomorrow after school. Pumped, BIG TIME. Gonna be sweeet. Rest assured I'll be chattering my arse off tomorrow on here after I see it .
IG-64 Posted March 9, 2007 Posted March 9, 2007 zOMG Vader is Luke's father! Wait, what are we talking about? Personally I'm not that excited about 300. It looks interesting, but I'd rather watch a movie actually based off of the battle of Thermopylae instead of a Frank Miller novel. I might go see it, but it depends on how much I cherish my 9 dollars.
ET Warrior Posted March 9, 2007 Posted March 9, 2007 Just got back from watching it. EPIC. Completely EPIC. There were a few pretty cheesy moments, but they were extremely dwarfed by the sheer magnitude of awesome that was this movie. Seeing this movie is doing yourself a favor.
Tinny Posted March 9, 2007 Posted March 9, 2007 Is it stylized like Sin City? I was pumped for that movie but aside for Marv's parts I was a bit dissapointed.
Pho3nix Posted March 9, 2007 Posted March 9, 2007 I'm not sure when I'm going to go see it, but I'll go see it in the near future.
Lorden Darkblade Posted March 9, 2007 Posted March 9, 2007 Here on Monkeyland, as IG's brother liked to call, Brazil lol it's only going to hit the theaters day 30. But yeah, I can't wait to see it XD I hope it's as good as Sin City.

Yeah, I'm seeing it tonight in downtown with some friends, just hope my brother can get me a ticket, we've had problems in the past, lol. Edit: 4chan is being flooded in this stuff.
Lightsaberboy Posted March 9, 2007 Posted March 9, 2007 was the spider-man 3 trailer attached to it for those that watched?
swphreak Posted March 9, 2007 Posted March 9, 2007 How can you be spoiled for this movie? Everyone knows what happens... Anyways, I plan to catch it early next week.

God I can't wait even more now. IG, go see it

Commander Obi-Wan Posted March 9, 2007 Posted March 9, 2007 Pho3nix said: Unfortunately not. Did you see, then? There is suppose to be a trailer. I hope to see later today. Though, it's 18A. So, I'll have to go with my friend and possibly his sister. But, hey, if I still get to see the movie that would be fine with me. Or since my friend's neighbour is the manager at Silvercity, we might be able to get free tickets to go see it at the IMAX. Though, no guarantee. I hope to see some time soon if not today. EDIT: preview for those who haven't seen it. 300 seconds of 300
Pho3nix Posted March 9, 2007 Posted March 9, 2007 Commander Obi-Wan said: Did you see, then? There is suppose to be a trailer. According to the Spider-man 3 message boards there won't be a new trailer attached to 300. They could be wrong of course. We'll see
Kylilin Posted March 9, 2007 Posted March 9, 2007 I'll be going to see this tomorrow night, I can't wait.
ET Warrior Posted March 9, 2007 Posted March 9, 2007 There WAS a new Spider man 3 trailer attached to it, and it was a VERY cool trailer.
Lightsaberboy Posted March 9, 2007 Posted March 9, 2007 I guess it's one of those trailers that are only in some theaters with the movie and some that don't. anyways I'll prolly be seeing this movie tonight.
JoeDoe 2.0 Posted March 10, 2007 Posted March 10, 2007 Im gonna see it tomorrow morning, because all the show times are already sold here in Manhattan.
Samuel Dravis Posted March 10, 2007 Posted March 10, 2007 ET Warrior said: Just got back from watching it.x2. Boo Xerxes! Hooray Leonidas! There was so much pwn in that movie I feel ashamed of my exploits on Rome: TW. Funniest quote: "No reason we shouldn't be civil." Though it was sad about Leonidas' spear throw. I really liked the atmosphere of the movie. It "felt" like a comic book. A very, very gritty comic book. With lots of awesome dudes wearing speedos... er, never thought I'd say that! ^_^
Achilles Posted March 10, 2007 Posted March 10, 2007 I felt that the end was a total rip-off of other genre films, specifically: Reveal hidden contents Braveheart, Gladiator, The Last Samurai, and Hero Very stylized film though. I really liked the texture of the movie, even though I found the story itself a little lacking.
Mike Windu Posted March 10, 2007 Posted March 10, 2007 It was awesome. I'd say that it falls short of great, but it's still good. I left feeling a bit meh, but in general it's awesome. Battles are schweet. slow mo was a bit overused though. I'll like this better when it comes on dvd. Though the entire theater clapped when Reveal hidden contents the queen stabbed that guy
Achilles Posted March 10, 2007 Posted March 10, 2007 That happened when I saw it too. Although the audience also clapped when: The lights when down The previews started The previews ended The production company credits ran before the title shot Talk about annoying.
jebbers Posted March 10, 2007 Posted March 10, 2007 Yea my theater got applause when the traitor died. There were some good lines in this movie. "Our arrows will blot out the sun." "Then we will fight in the shade." "What's your profession?" "Sculptor." "Yours?" "Blacksmith." "Spartans! What's your profession?" "RAWR!" "You see Athenian, I brought more soldiers than you."
