EnIgmA_XX
Upgrading your PC would be a much more valuable and lasting investment than buying a console that will be outdated in a year or two. hm? consoles get outdated after longer than a year or two, probably around 4 or 5 years and a pc really isn't a lasting investment. in fact, your pc will be outdated even before you take it out of the box! you'd have to keep upgrading it as well, my video card is already obsolete! yuck! the one time i'd take a pc over console is on the modding front. if you don't want the Wii, get the 360. Jason Skywalker
I want a PS3 or a 360 bad because some games are coming out for them. If they where out for the PC, i wouldn't be buying any.

Commander Obi-Wan
The Wii just doesn't appeal to me and is the most overrated console of the lot. Really, eh? It don't really get that impression myself. If we're naming the overrated consoles out, I would think PS3 tops the list. And apparently in Australia and Europe, there wasn't many people lining up to get it.

Very true, the only reason I'm gonna be upgrading mine is because its a GeForce 4 MX 4000 with like no shader support AFAIK...The card I had before that was a Radeon 9200 I think, so I'm looking forward to being able to play KotOR with all the settings on maximum! lol Back on topic, all this next-gen stuff is fine and dandy, but some people have forgotten what video games are supposed to be all about: fun! Look at the Wii's popularity, even though it doesn't have the uber pwnage graphics, it still sells like mad, because of the low price and very good controls and exclusives (Zelda, Mario, Metroid, etc...) It's the same for a game like Guitar Hero, it's absolutely brilliant, yet you wouldn't buy it for the cool graphics now would you? I'll have to admit the 360 has stepped up, especially thanks to a good range of titles and some exclusives (Mass Effect! *drools*) but it definitely doesn't pwn everything else out there, Nintendo is still out there getting their fair share of the market, and they're on the rise again! I do think the PS3 needs to step up dramatically if Sony want a part of the market in the near future...The pure lack of customer service is abominable, no backward compatibility for the European version? Give me a break! That was the last drop for me!

I have a PC - but Kotor runs like a snail on some illegal substance so my Kotor experience and modding experience is very limited. Regarding the PS3, i feel it would be dead before long.... Jason Skywalker
The pure lack of customer service is abominable, no backward compatibility for the European version? Give me a break! That was the last drop for me! I heard on a show that on October, a free download on Sony's site i believe will be available for the European version of the PS3 to have the backward compability. And i sure has heck won't have a PS3 as of this year.

MTV2
Go 360, bigger HDD(120GB) and more games.
Mav
I have a PS3, but thats mostly because I like the PS exclusives more than I like the 360's. True as of right now the PS3 has next to nothing, but I'm waiting patiently for games like FF XII, MGS4, GT HD, GTA IV, Assassin's Creed, Heavenly Sword etc. (and before I get grief I know they're not all exclusives). Also I've played the Halo games, and Gears of War, and to be quite honest, I liked Goldeneye for the N64 better than Halo, I honestly just don't see whats so damn impressive about Halo/2, and Gears of War got pretty old after wearing out the chainsaw. I'll admit, the PS3 has pretty much nothing right now, but it's still fairly young, and Resistance, while not great is really quite a fun little FPS with some unique aspects. Also the thing I like which I don't believe anybody has mentioned yet is that the PS3 has firmware updates, much like the PSP has it's updates, this can prove quite useful if used right. Also, I'm looking forward to Home for the PS3, that looks to be interesting. To be completely honest, if I could I would have all 3 systems, as it is right now, I just have the PS3 and the Wii. I would get the 360 if I had excess cash laying around, but nothing really makes it a must have for me right now. Mass Effect looks cool and all, but the fact that I've been a long time Final Fantasy and Metal Fear Solid fan as well as Kingdom Hearts and things like that, that is what made my decision for me. So honestly my advice is to choose your system based on the games and series that you enjoy, not on the hardware specs or the Blu-ray vs. HD-DVD debate, in the end it's a gaming system at it's core. And as a side note, believe the hype, the Wii is one seriously fun system, and with games coming up like Mario Party 8 and Super Smash Bros. Brawl and even that Super Paper Mario game. You can't go wrong, the Wii is a really good system to has some friends over and enjoy. Go 360, bigger HDD(120GB) and more games. You can actually swap out your PS3 HDD with any SATA 2.5" HDD so technically you can beef your PS3 up, but at an extra cost
Cygnus Q'ol
As of now, definately 360. Has more games Even more great titles on the horizon Better gameplay 360 Live ...and if you can, go HD. It's definately worth it.

MTV2
You can actually swap out your PS3 HDD with any SATA 2.5" HDD so technically you can beef your PS3 up, but at an extra cost ya, but that would cost even more, if the regular 360 costs $499CND and the 360 Elite costs $549CND and the PS3 costs $699CND. To put in a 120GB HDD into a PS3 will cost you an extra $120CND. the 360 is cheaper any way you look at it. Yeah the WII looks appealing. Between HD or blu-ray? Hmmm... well both formats are similar when comparing picture quality etc. but blu-ray can hold more data with a ratio of 25GB to the HD's 15GB. The PS3 has it's blu-ray drive already built-in, the 360's HD drive isn't but this could be the reason for the PS3's higher price which really doesn't make it any better value for money. Overall i may go HD, and thus the 360 (aswell as a WII) Blu-Ray vs. HD-DVD has nothing to do with any of this. The X360 games aren't written on HD-DVD because they don't need that much room. And the PS3 games don't take up the whole 25/50GB. True, you can get HDDs of 300Gb for about 50 quid nowadays (about $100), which is pretty damn good you need a 2.5" HDD not a 3.5" HDD. 2.5" is notebook size, which go up to 200GB and those are $180US. and anyways, the hard drive is encrypted and you can't use other hard drives with it until they find a hack for this. kotor_freak
Xbox 360 definately. Reasons? 1) Great graphics, in some ways better then PS3 2) More games out, more choice. 3) Stuff magazine said it was the overall best choice. 4) I have both of the consoles, Xbox 360 is the better of the two. etc.
