True_Avery Posted June 27, 2007 Posted June 27, 2007 Does it suppose to have some type of hidden political meaning, like the five shattered pieces of world peace? Or is it just suppose to be ugly? I think the word you are looking for is "Modern" art.
Bob Lion54 Posted June 27, 2007 Posted June 27, 2007 Does it suppose to have some type of hidden political meaning, like the five shattered pieces of world peace? Or is it just suppose to be ugly? Its supposed to look like 2012 written like this: 20 12 Instead, it looks like Lisa Simpson doing... stuff. When I first saw it a few weeks ago, I just thought it was a blob until I read what it was. I can see the numbers now, but Lisa Simpson stands out much more.
Negative Sun Posted June 27, 2007 Posted June 27, 2007 There is not way to this politely, that is hideous. If they paid the firm over $1.99 for its design they were robbed. Does it suppose to have some type of hidden political meaning, like the five shattered pieces of world peace? Or is it just suppose to be ugly? About $799,998 over that to be exact...
REDJOHNNYMIKE Posted June 27, 2007 Posted June 27, 2007 How's that working out for you? Well, I have a good CON, so I'm pretty much just experiencing some skin irritation. Now who is this Lisa Simpson anyway?
mimartin Posted June 27, 2007 Posted June 27, 2007 About $799,998 over that to be exact... Let that be a lesson to anyone that still looking for a career, think art design. Image how much you could make if you were actually good.
REDJOHNNYMIKE Posted June 27, 2007 Posted June 27, 2007 probably about $5 an hour, to make big money in Art you have to suck at it.
Totenkopf Posted June 28, 2007 Posted June 28, 2007 C'mon you philistines....it's a modern art masterpiece (of shiit) @Red--you're kidding about the Simpson thing, right? If not, it's Homer's older daughter/Bart's sister from the cartoon "The Simpsons".
Char Ell Posted June 28, 2007 Posted June 28, 2007 Great hairy balls of the eunuch, that's ugly!!! Uh, but I thought eunuchs didn't have any balls, unless you're keeping them in a formaldehyde solution post-castration. So basically the up and coming host cities for the Olympics are trying to come up with memorable designs for their Olympic event, right? Seems like this particular logo, if retained, will be remembered for all the wrong reasons though, heh-heh-heh.
Quist Posted June 28, 2007 Posted June 28, 2007 I think the comment my friend made sums it up pretty well: "It looks like someone sat on a grapefruit." Pretty accurate, I think.
King Dando Posted June 28, 2007 Posted June 28, 2007 It's pretty terrible. I love the lil' trademark sign on it though, like, as if anyone would want to steal it!
Negative Sun Posted June 28, 2007 Posted June 28, 2007 It's pretty terrible. I love the lil' trademark sign on it though, like, as if anyone would want to steal it! This guy who committed suicide by jumping off a 10 story building created a mess just like that! Sue him!
Rabish Bini Posted July 5, 2007 Posted July 5, 2007 A CHALLENGER HAS APPEARED! OWNAGE! But seriously, that logo's shockin', I reckon they should keep the 5 ring logo.
Master Zionosis Posted July 5, 2007 Posted July 5, 2007 I live in England and there are rumors that it will be changed but the designers have also said that they hope the UK will come round to the idea, i personally hate it, once again it gives us a bad name, (we seem to be doing that allot lately, especially with the Eurovision song contest, that was terrible). If the idiots who make this stuff keep doing it i swear one day I'm gonna be ashamed to be British,
Rogue Nine Posted July 5, 2007 Posted July 5, 2007 In more Olympic-related news, the resort town of Sochi in Russia won the venue for the 2014 Winter Olympics. Their logo, at least for now, looks fairly good. I quite like it, actually. Hope they don't go hiring whoever designed the London one to craft up another one if they do change it.
