mimartin Posted December 11, 2008 Posted December 11, 2008 Not that big a deal in most of the Northern Hemisphere this time of year, but this is Southeast Texas and snow does not happen every year. It isn’t sticking around yet, but it is suppose to get down to 27 F tonight. Edit: Well it stuck. We have an inch and it is still snowing.

mimartin Posted December 11, 2008 Posted December 11, 2008 The snow melted quickly this morning and we now have extremely sunny skies with a temperature of 46 F. The weatherman is predicting 75 F by Saturday. Two days ago I was wearing shorts, I guess yesterday was my one coat day for the season.

Darth333 Posted December 12, 2008 Posted December 12, 2008 We had no electricity for most of the day yesterday due to a snowstorm (photo taken in Montreal by "La Presse" newspaper...God thanks I have an indoor garage and can do without some of the "joys" of winter ) followed by an ice storm...and less than an hour ago by an icy tree branch (they're heavy due to the amount of ice) fell right in front of my car...a few seconds earlier and it would have fallen right on it (I am still a bit shaky ) It's currently -11°C (13°F) and we are expecting another snowstorm tomorrow...oh well at least it'll look nice for xmas...

I love winter (summer too...the only thing I don't like is the ugly November days...short, grey, rainy and cold, yet not cold enough for the winter outdoor activities and too cold for the summer ones )
Tommycat Posted December 12, 2008 Posted December 12, 2008 Snow is pretty... It looks great on TV. Of course I've lived in upstate New York. I've seen my fair share of snow. I think I have seen a lifetimes worth of snow. That may be the reason I choose to live in places where snow is an alien concept.

But now I must hope for no more; anymore and the school district forces us to do school on a saturday or over Summer Break ;_;

stingerhs Posted December 13, 2008 Posted December 13, 2008 its cool down here in SC, but its far from freezing. the best we can manage thus far is some morning frost on a rare occasion. hopefully, we'll get some rain of some kind soon, though. too much sun and drought this year.
