Taak Farst
I know I could of done this earlier but I have to ask, what do we think about that video Bin Laden made on the 9 11 anniversary? I think that he was pushing his luck a bit with that video. He is threatening to kill people when he has most legal forces on his back already. The 9 11 might of been a barbaric and cruel "victory" for him,but the legal forces (eg police) are no longer taking chances and personally I think he is trying to undertake a suicide mission. What is your opinion on the matter?
Arcesious
These terrorists are bad tacticians. Make the United Sates, the most powerful nation in the world more angry- Yeah, that's really smart.

Ferc Kast
I believe that was the worst idea ever...even considering the rush of TSL's release. At that point, Bin Laden could've just walked into the White House itself. Apparently, that wasn't one of these terrorists' brighter ideas. They must be the most unsubtle people in all of history, save for Napoleon and Hitler. At least, that's my opinion on that. @Below: TSL is KotOR II: The Sith Lords

*Don*
^^^^ lol, your joking right? I'm sorry, but how can u hang around KOTOR forums and not know that TSL stands for The Sith Lords? Tsk Tsk I'm just messin wit u. Anyways I personally believe that Bin Laden doesn't really even matter anymore. Personally speaking, I think Zawahiri (sp) is more of a threat since he isn't on a dyalisis machine and still has a working brain. At any rate, the video was just foolish. Its like a man going into a lion's den and poking him in the eye....

John Galt
The thing you guys seem to be leaving out is that bin Laden has all the militaries and police forces in the free world looking for him and they still can't find him.

Agreed! Look: These terrorists are bad tacticians. Make the United Sates, the most powerful nation in the world more angry- Yeah, that's really smart. Look at what you're saying. They're bad tacticians? I don't think so. They brilliantly pwned us on 9.11 and bin Laden hasn't had any personal ramifications. He's been plodding along making youtube vids for years. It hasn't worked out badly for him, IMHO. Not that I condone or accept it or anything... just that I have lost faith in the US government. _EW_
Achilles
Keep in mind that UBL is seen as a hero in much of the middle east. We see hubris in the face of the world's largest military force. They see "look, we can hurt these bastards just like the Russians in Afghanistan in the 80's". Whether our perspective or their's is the "right" one is almost irrelevant. El Sitherino
Considering most of the people he works with would gladly die in the service of what they do, I highly doubt they're too worried about law enforcement getting them. Infact I'm pretty sure that would guarantee them martyrdom. Poor tacticians, indeed.
Q
Poor tacticians, indeed. QFT. These people are intelligent, organized, (over)zealous and brutally efficient, so it would probably be wise to stop underestimating them.
JCarter426
Especially since they were sort of trained by the CIA.
Totenkopf
Perhaps they should be training the CIA.
Rev7
^ Yup. On topic: I wouldn't say that these terrorists that we are dealing with are bad tacticians, rather, that were....well....intelligent, and subtle in their attacks. I must point out that I am not trying to "praise" what they have done.
Arcesious
The only thing these terrorists are good at tactically is covert ops tactics. Even then they still have no chance, as we're even better at covert ops tactics. All they have is a few good ambush and raid tactics, but we still beat them at all military aspects. Edit: Sorry, wrong term. I meant Guerrila warfare, not covert ops.
mur'phon
If you beat them in all military aspects, why is there still fighting in Afghanistan/Iraq?
El Sitherino
Uh, we do not in any way, shape, or form beat them in all military aspects. As you pointed out, they are guerrilla fighters. And there are many more being recruited each day in many nations.
Totenkopf
No victory, even military, is ever absolute. Even the end of the second world war in Europe didn't stop members of the former nazi regime from engaging in acts of terrorism throughout "postwar" Germany. The difference between then and now is that when the "insurgents" were caught, they were summarily executed w/o a lot of the public handwringing you see today.
