Jason Skywalker Posted June 11, 2008 Posted June 11, 2008 Well, that's comforting. Starkiller is just a too much irregular first name.
Gurges-Ahter Posted June 11, 2008 Author Posted June 11, 2008 If his name were Starkiller, I'd assume that it would be his last name.
M@RS Posted June 11, 2008 Posted June 11, 2008 Yeah, I wonder what his first name is, it's probably some really, totally strange name that we'll never get ...
Da_man Posted June 11, 2008 Posted June 11, 2008 Yeah, I wonder what his first name is, it's probably some really, totally strange name that we'll never get ... Like Qui-gon for example? But it probably is going to something really outlandish, considering that Episodes 1-3 were chock full of crazy names, while the original trilogy had fairly normal names. It's the direction that lucas wants it to go.
Jason Skywalker Posted June 11, 2008 Posted June 11, 2008 It's just that Starkiller is such an orthodox name to call a person. "Oh, hey, it's Guy A! "Oh, hey! How's it going Starkiller?"
M@RS Posted June 11, 2008 Posted June 11, 2008 Starkiller = Guy B why don't they save us the pain and name him John Smith?
M@RS Posted June 11, 2008 Posted June 11, 2008 ^ how about "we-don't-know-what-to-name-him-so-we-gave-him-this-retarded-name"
Gurges-Ahter Posted June 11, 2008 Author Posted June 11, 2008 Really I don't care what his name is all that much, although it's fun to speculate. I just hope TFU has a good story line, and I believe it will.
M@RS Posted June 11, 2008 Posted June 11, 2008 Yes, a good plot, storyline, and settings, I would like to fight on Kashyyyk, that would be fun...Also cool moves for "starkiller" to pull off while fighting, and his name should have at least some meaning...
Ctrl Alt Del Posted June 12, 2008 Posted June 12, 2008 Before I declare it lame I will need to know his backstory in full. Naw, you don't need to know his whole childhood to tell that his name sounds bad.
Gurges-Ahter Posted June 12, 2008 Author Posted June 12, 2008 Naw, you don't need to know his whole childhood to tell that his name sounds bad. I think in this case you do need to know his background, since they are using a name that is related to the roots of Star Wars (Starkiller being Luke's original last name). However, if Starkiller is only a code name as I later posted, this point is moot.
Serpentine Cougar Posted June 14, 2008 Posted June 14, 2008 While Starkiller may indeed work as a name, I think it detracts from it if you have to be familiar with the connection to Luke for it to make sense or be cool. I mean, probably a lot of the people who're going to play the game won't be "hardcore Star Wars fan" enough to research the history of the name. So if the coolness of the name is merely based on that, perhaps they should have picked something else.
M@RS Posted June 14, 2008 Posted June 14, 2008 Hmm, I wonder if anyone (besides us) are nerdy enough to look up the whole back story, yeah, I agree with Serpentine for sure...
Rev7 Posted June 14, 2008 Posted June 14, 2008 **Update: I just read this on the Starkiller wiki** <snip> Good.
adamqd Posted June 14, 2008 Posted June 14, 2008 ^^^ "Ps3'sTheReasonWhyYouHadToWaitAnotherYear T. Starkiller"
Fredi Posted June 14, 2008 Posted June 14, 2008 You know ... I dont really like his name ... I think they should have name him different.
M@RS Posted June 15, 2008 Posted June 15, 2008 How about, "We-couldn't-of-anything-else-to-name-him-so-we-gave-him-this-name T. Starkiller...
PoiuyWired Posted June 17, 2008 Posted June 17, 2008 I'd name him Chuck. He seems like a Chuck. Do not invoke the name of Norris in Vein... Btw, epic characters don't always have a cool sounding name to begin with. That is exactly why Siths have their Sith names. I mean, think Darth Bane.
