Who am I?

I thought perhaps amongst all the current chaos we should perhaps share who we are as individuals and what our expectations in Kavar's are.

I personally see this as a format to express that while life is serious, not everything must be simply confined to a realm or dynamic of seriousness. I believe it is okay to look at life as a joke or whimsy, because we only have one and the one we get should be joyful and not spiteful or filled with malice. While I understand my personality may come off as brash, it in itself is a mockery of my own pre-conceptions of who I am and who I could be. While my political leanings are on the more liberal of sides and I support everyones pursuit of happiness so long as it does not impede on that of others, I also have the perspective that I myself am fallible as all are. I think what Kavar's does for me is it shows me the sides of myself that I was unaware of. A lot of us find our boundaries when we get sucked into these discussions about what we want for our countries, our people, and those we consider friends.

To me Kavar's is a playground to explore ourselves as characters, not only online, but in life itself. After all, as much as anyone may try to separate their personal self from an online alias, it does peak it's head in. I think it serves everyone to look at that from another side and think about the consequences of all our actions.

And to those who have taken offense to my expressions, I apologize for having given insult. I hope you all will believe that my intent is not ill toward you, but my attempt to provide self-exploration in the way of humor.

As my former disclaimer signature once stated: "98% of my actions are entirely fictitious and any similarities to any situation real or fictional is entirely coincidental and the following post was made with the most respectful of intent"

So here I invite you all to share your ideals and sense of yourself and possibly make a thread that will provide the ability to laugh instead of damage or hurt.

My expectations for Kavar's? An intellectual gathering is bound to create an argument. However, instead of just arguing for the sake of arguing, I believe that Kavar's is a place to learn- not only in a normal sense, but in a spiritual/philosophical sense.

I love Kavar's. It's a place to challenge other's opinions, attempt to prove our own, and all the while having a bit of fun. We disagree a lot of the time- hell, nearly everyone in here has taken a shot at each other some time or another. But that's the beauty of it. As long as we keep questioning each other, making sure that our views aren't based on opinions but facts (if that's the type of stuff that floats your boat).

As Sithy said, this place is a playground- a jungle of knowledge. This forum is a tangled web, a mess of learning and education. Without Kavar's, I believe that I'd know a lot less about myself. I try to keep civil here, but, as we all know, that's difficult at time.

Generally, I view the world through the eyes of a liberal: I believe that FDR said something along the lines of 'Above all, try new things- even if you fail, you've learned something from it,' like to live by that philosophy (though, sometimes that's hard). I like to look at the world through other people's point of view, but, at times, I find that quite difficult.

I've got no clue what comes after this, and to be honest, I really don't care. I look forward to continuing my learning experience, whether during school or beyond. Questioning beliefs is fun to me, and I like to apply the same standards to both sides (I recently had an argument with my mom after she criticized an anti-abortion sign on the road. She discontinued the conversation after I suggested that she would have acted differently if the sign had been pro-choice).

I'm overly pessimistic at times, and I tend to view the world negatively, but I've been trying to look on the bright side of things.

A few words of wisdom: It's all in the perception.

I enjoy Kavar's since I have learned a lot from it. Well, I've learned a lot on other forums, wikipedia, and youtube (mostly youtube) too. Anyone who's been here long enough would probably be able to notice how much I've changed since I first joined. (Hopefully for the better!) :)

I have always liked how everyone is so supportive here...

True sincerity with a touch of class and illumination. Why take life too serious when there is so much to experience. El Sitherino you are a true man of conviction. :) You will make someone happy someday. :)

Who am I?

I'm a Christian Freethinker - something which I think aptly describes the wonderful contradiction in terms that constitutes me.

As a Christian it is my job to bring the love of Jesus to the world, as a freethinker its my job to educate...

My signature records my belief that both Jesus and love would suffice to solve the worlds problems 'Love your neighbour as yourself', or I could articulate it in the negative sense as one of the great Greeks; "Do not do to others what angers you if done to you by others". --Socrates (After recent events in forum, I think a few of you would do well to recall that).

I'm not meaning to start a debate here, just offering insight into who I am, and love and my thoughts on it have a strong impact on my views of the world. The world, at least as it seems to me is in the state it is in because of a lack of love.

Why do I come to Kavars? To hear varying people's opinions on a wide range of topics and to offer my own opinions on things. As my favourite philosopher said, in a quote I've said more than a few times; "The surest way to corrupt a youth is to instruct him to hold in higher regard those who think alike than those who think differently." - Friedrich Nietzsche. It is my personal way of doing things to learn the opposites sides point of view before debating it. It is always interesting how people of different cultures and backgrounds view things.

I am who?

I'm a mishmash of (sometimes seemingly cotradictory) ideas from right to left.

Feminist, free trader, in favour of free markets in some areas, against it in others, pro big state in some countries, against it in others, give more aid, though not the way it's done now. In the end, I guess you could say I'm a pragmatist, do what works, and principles be damned.

I come here to see the million sides of the coin, and hopefully have my ideas and oppinions torn to pieces. That, and it offers a nice change from the druggery of Мурмаснк.

I see Kavar's as a place that gives me the possibility to exchange opinions on some serious matters. It gives me the chance to learn what other people think and through that to learn just how people around the world can perceive one thing in so many different ways. I do realize we can never change each others' minds, but it doesn't stop me from challenging somebody's views on a matter, because that allows me to learn something new about that person and about how people in that part of the world think.

Unfortunately, I haven't been participating too much, because lately most of the topics are about the US elections and some of their internal problems, which I don't care too much about, seeing how I'm from a different part of the world.

As a person who once frequented Kavar's and now prowls around on occassion, I see Kavar's Corner as it's description says, a friendly place of debate. Now that interpretation could be taken in many ways but the way I see it, it simply means a place where I can go and present my thoughts in a contributing manner while having fun.

As I have stated somewhere before, I am born and raised Catholic but a practicing Christian, a contradiction since both are from Christianity. My political aspects are moderate liberal. In debates I can argue for both sides and on occassion do a flip and use words against them using theory and such.

I am a source of confusion for some since I can look at things scientifically and with a belief system in place. A difficult thing but makes my like fullfilling. It also allows me to see other perspectives that would have been otherwise closed to me.

It would be a shame to see Kavar's Corner closed because community members cannot control their passion or disagreements make people grumpy. I believe we can still have fun in Kavar's Corner and keep the motto of it being a friendly place of debate.

I am neutral, inspired and compelled to act. I am lonely and terribly saddened. I am hopeful and tremendously invigorated by a thought, a friend, a moment's consideration. Most of all the slightest touch from a woman is like something I've never felt before. My memory is all yelling, hot things and soft pains. Witnessing someone who thinks is like a cool breeze.
