Sith'ari Darth Bane Posted April 7, 2009 Posted April 7, 2009 ***SPOILER <<< just in case Has any one noticed how Princess Leia was concerned for the Wookiees being enslaved? If she was so concerned about them, then why did she insult Chewy in ANH by saying "Would some one get this big walking carpet out of my way."?
SW01 Posted April 7, 2009 Posted April 7, 2009 There is a difference between caring about a species being enslaved and being annoyed by one of them. In that scene of ANH, Leia wasn't particularly pleased anyway. Maybe Chewbacca wasn't walking fast enough for her tastes? Consider also that the Republic abhorred slavery. Leia is a supporter of the Republic/Rebellion.
Shem Posted April 7, 2009 Posted April 7, 2009 It's spelled Wookiee (with two e's). And I agree with SW01.
Sith'ari Darth Bane Posted April 8, 2009 Author Posted April 8, 2009 It's spelled Wookiee (with two e's). And I agree with SW01. Fixed! @SW01 you got a point there! I just thought that maybe it was another contradicting matter again between the EU and the movies.
CommanderQ Posted April 8, 2009 Posted April 8, 2009 Oohh, true...as SW01 said, she cares for the species, but maybe not so much Chewie in ANH....maybe he just happened to be smellier or something then the other wookiees...
Sith'ari Darth Bane Posted April 8, 2009 Author Posted April 8, 2009 Well at the time she said it they just escaped the trash compactor so he was smellier.
Papa Smurf Posted April 9, 2009 Posted April 9, 2009 Or maybe it was because he traveled with Han :/. Then again Luke did and look what happened in episode 5 :/. *smooch* lol. Then again episode 5 was the episode where Leia told Han she loved him... I'm very confused now :/
LordOfTheFish Posted April 12, 2009 Posted April 12, 2009 That is unlikely. Leia didn't seem to care for Chewbacca or Han in that particular scene. I agree with SW01.
Sam! Posted April 14, 2009 Posted April 14, 2009 You care for the human species but get annoyed if someone's in your way. She was in a foul mood to start with, anyways.
messenger74 Posted February 22, 2010 Posted February 22, 2010 You're all going way too deep into analyzing this. Leia was a BASKA, a stuck up snob of a "princess," who turned her nose up at anyone that didn't agree with her. With that said... as already stated... she was in a bad mood. Just because she cared about a bunch of oversized teddy bears being enslaved doesn't mean she's going to go all googly eyed when one walks in the room.

ChAiNz.2da Posted February 22, 2010 Posted February 22, 2010 Sorry, I've never heard of the phrase before, but what's a BASKA? Jae Onasi Posted February 22, 2010 Posted February 22, 2010 Just so you know, messanger74, if you post in a thread where the last post is older than a few weeks, it's called 'reviving a dead thread', or 'thread necromancy'. Don't do it, your posts will get deleted and you'll end up getting infractions.
