ironheart
So, I am endeavoring to learn the art of skinning. Thus far... Bastila. My goal is darker, more defined and to get rid of those god awful flat looking eyes. And i couldn't get blue to look anything but cartoony so I went with brown. I think I messed up her hair though. I'm not even going to tell you how much time I wasted being all artsy and drawing strands that you can't really see. Maybe if I up the resolution? Show spoiler (hidden content - requires Javascript to show) Republic armor as Commander Shepard's Onyx armor (From that other amazing Bioware game, Mass Effect). It's not perfect but I rather like how it's turning out. As you can see i tried to give him the 'N7 logo'and it ended up all mirror like on his chest. Still having trouble discerning the different parts of the body on the texture and I have yet to figure out how to get something on one side without it wrapping around and showing up on the other. But anyway... Canderis
That armor looks amazing! Good work, can't wait to see the finished version.
Lord of Hunger
I kinda like what you did with Bastila. Here eyes look sort of more...intense? Adult? The makeup on the eyelids is pretty cool too. She looks more adult.
Trench
This looks great ner'vod! That Bastila re-skin is the best I've seen.

Marius Fett
Well these are certainly some nice looking reskins, ironheart. Definitely a thread to watch.

Looking good, keep up the good work Drewton's trick which I'm newly experimenting with is to up the resolution (I've just started working one editing K1 robes), so for example normal clothing is 512 and you can up it to 2048 - though remember with hair its not the most noticeable of features. But anyway... If I need to figure out what goes where, I tend to brightly colour all the different parts of the skin, then take screenshots in game, and piece togeather whats what, after a while though just by looking at things you know whats what. If you have released images of the ME armour, that aren't ingame screenshots (i.e. game promo pictures) - you could use some aspects of those photo's in making the clothing. I tend to use little bits of jedi robes and build a new one from high def promo pictures (e.g. in Force Fashion). Hope that helps!
ironheart
Yay feedback. Thanks guys. And that won't effect the performance at all? My computer can handle a lot but if I release it I don't want to bog down a slower system. Not really. High quality textures don't bother the game so much as high poly models.
Canderis
Not really. High quality textures don't bother the game so much as high poly models. It is really the other way around. High res textures bother the game more than models. Thats why when you turn down the resolution of the game's textures it makes it run better. ironheart
It's not too dark? I'd worried about that. Finished Bastila, I think. Thats 90SK's robe mod by the way, if you can't tell. I love it. It doesn't matter either way - I would say build mods they way you would want them - if that means lots of eye candy so be. You won't be able to satisfy everyone, so do things they way you would want them, and release them. Thats my 2 cents.
Emperor Devon
And that won't effect the performance at all? My computer can handle a lot but if I release it I don't want to bog down a slower system. Well, it's not as if you lose anything by testing a 2048 x 2048 texture in-game. If there's too much lag you can remove it. If not your texture is that much better. Even a comparatively old computer can run KotOR on maxed settings, though (I'm able to with a graphics card from 2005), so you'll probably be good to go. ironheart
Wow, that armor is really nice. Any chance of seeing both versions in a mod? I'm working on it. Though I'm not sure if I should make it it's own item or just have it replace the default soldier clothing. That's how I've got it for testing but.... I dunno. We'll see.
