Wildstar Posted November 22, 2011 Posted November 22, 2011 To explain first, my league runs an annual "Turkey Shoot" night on the week before Thanksgiving week in which a cash prize goes to the bowler in each average division who bowls the most pins over average on the night. There are three divisions for each gender, so 6 total prizes...after working the math out from the standings sheets online, I figured out that I won the men's A division prize, and my female teammate won the women's B division prize. We'll be collecting our prizes tomorrow night. We repeat this concept around Xmas, too, BTW.
K_Kinnison Posted November 22, 2011 Posted November 22, 2011 WHen curlers have a turkey shoot we place a frozen turkey on the center of the rink. Then people buy "rocks" raffle style. You then throw your curling rock towards the turkey. At the end the person who has a rock that is closest to the turkey gets the bird. When you have a 20-25 pound turkey on the ice and throw 45 pound rocks at it. it gets quite interesting
Keyan Farlander Posted November 23, 2011 Posted November 23, 2011 Eh, I'm ready for Thanksgiving already. Let's do this thing.
K_Kinnison Posted November 23, 2011 Posted November 23, 2011 Stayed up last night and baked an apple pie for our dinner today. Also got plenty of booze. Rum balls, beer, brandy, hot buttered rum, egg nog, tom & jerries, scotch, whiskey, brandy, burbon, vodka
edlib Posted November 24, 2011 Posted November 24, 2011 Hava a Very Happy "Great-American Feast-Until-You-Explode-Day", everybody!!!
Keyan Farlander Posted November 24, 2011 Posted November 24, 2011 Happy Thanksgiving, Lucasforums! I am thankful to have you to help me waste time at work!
Keyan Farlander Posted November 25, 2011 Posted November 25, 2011 Apparently I have been awarded the "Forum Veteran" badge. I'd like to thank all the little people...
Kuuki Posted November 26, 2011 Author Posted November 26, 2011 i got less then 6months left til i get 10yr yet
Wildstar Posted November 27, 2011 Posted November 27, 2011 Apparently I have been awarded the "Forum Veteran" badge. I'd like to thank all the little people... You were supposed to have had it when everyone's badges were first awarded, but someone finally got around to pulling some strings to get you the FV one.
Keyan Farlander Posted November 27, 2011 Posted November 27, 2011 You were supposed to have had it when everyone's badges were first awarded, but someone finally got around to pulling some strings to get you the FV one. My thanks to that anonymous white knight of justice!
K_Kinnison Posted November 28, 2011 Posted November 28, 2011 I'm surprised I am not a forum veteran. As of now I am completely addicted to Fallout 3. My only problem is that I am having problems finding ammo for my favorite weapons (.44)
Keyan Farlander Posted November 28, 2011 Posted November 28, 2011 I'm surprised I am not a forum veteran. Looks like you are now! First day back at work after a long weekend...blargh.
edlib Posted November 28, 2011 Posted November 28, 2011 I hear that! Spent the weekend on the Cape with the GF's family. Was her mom's 60th. Big surprise party. I'm totally exhausted today though. I really don't sleep well or relax in hotel rooms. Plus: being off my scheduled routine for 4 days means it's really hard to get started and back on track today. Still: It was a pretty good time!
edlib Posted December 1, 2011 Posted December 1, 2011 It's dead here... Spent the week prepping for this show tonight. And I'm wiped out. 3 late nights in a row... tonight will be #4. And after all that, I think the show will just be "meh."
Wildstar Posted December 1, 2011 Posted December 1, 2011 Projected year-end post count to thread: 1,380 While not a record low for the "One Year" threads (the 2006 edition had only 787 posts), that number looks disappointing.
Cmdr. Cracken Posted December 2, 2011 Posted December 2, 2011 Some of us are prepping for finals. ;_;
Keyan Farlander Posted December 2, 2011 Posted December 2, 2011 And the rest of us have no lives and therefore nothing to post about.
edlib Posted December 2, 2011 Posted December 2, 2011 Well... without 15 posting, and me not as much (I actually might have TOO much life these days... which leaves me with little "goof off and be silly on the internet" time...), and most of our occasional "guests" either quiet or missing... the numbers were never going to be as great as efforts past. But that might not be a bad thing. Next year might be the most epic ever! Maybe...
K_Kinnison Posted December 2, 2011 Posted December 2, 2011 I am losing free time. I just got volunteered to run the La Crosse Curling Club's Bonspiel. And i realized yesterday, there would be no opportunity to play the new KotOR MMO when it came out, until April. And i more then likely would be playing Diablo 3
Wildstar Posted December 2, 2011 Posted December 2, 2011 I'd been using OpenOffice.org for my productivity apps, but it had dismayed me that the apps were lacking some features (with some, like conditional formatting in Calc, not working the way you'd expect). With the project apparently on hold, I bit the bullet and got M$ Office Home & Student, which came in the mail yesterday; I'm waiting for a free weekend day to install it.
Wildstar Posted December 2, 2011 Posted December 2, 2011 Well, today, I officially joined the millions of people wearing one of Ben Franklin's best-known inventions: bifocals
Cmdr. Cracken Posted December 3, 2011 Posted December 3, 2011 HAHA, you're old! Finished christmas shopping. whoot.
Keyan Farlander Posted December 3, 2011 Posted December 3, 2011 I haven't bought any presents yet, but I've bought all the cards. So...I'm making progress.
