Sith Holocron Posted January 6, 2012 Posted January 6, 2012 I don't know how an item this weird has been mentioned yet on this site. A French burger chain named Quick apparently has a tie in for the upcoming release of The Phantom Menace in 3D. They'll be releasing themed burgers. OK, so far, so good - I suppose. I'm guessing those things underneath the bun on the "Jedi Burger" are onions. That's just a guess. Then I heard about (and then saw) the following . . . Yes, I know that "Dark Vador" is the French name for the original Dark Lord of Sith we've grown to love. May I again direct you to the picture of his name sake burger? A black bunned burger? WTF!?!
Miltiades Posted January 6, 2012 Posted January 6, 2012 Actually, this "promotion" is for all Quick restaurants in a country even weirder than ours: France. By the way, I am more worried by the fact the dark side is being discriminated once again: only available until the first of March while the stupid Jedi can enjoy their (non-cancer inducing) burgers a few days longer. Also, am I the only one who laughs at the fact the French need "Dark" to be explained to them in their own language?
Pho3nix Posted January 6, 2012 Posted January 6, 2012 Also, am I the only one who laughs at the fact the French need "Dark" to be explained to them in their own language? Haha, didn't notice that one. Typical.
Sith Holocron Posted January 6, 2012 Author Posted January 6, 2012 Actually, this "promotion" is for all Quick restaurants in a country even weirder than ours: France. I've now corrected the original post as I do not want the Belgian hit-squad to focus their wrath on me.
JesusIsGonnaOwnSatan Posted January 6, 2012 Posted January 6, 2012 They're jumping the gun a bit with a Darth Vader burger as part of a promotion for the 3D release for The Phantom Menace, aren't they? I'd still try all three if I could, though.
Scorge Posted January 6, 2012 Posted January 6, 2012 One thing I don't get, why do they have a "Darth Vader" burger when Vader isn't even in the Phantom Menace? And I agree, I wouldn't put my hands on those things.
ChAiNz.2da Posted January 6, 2012 Posted January 6, 2012 OK, so far, so good - I suppose. I'm guessing those things underneath the bun on the "Jedi Burger" are onions. That's just a guess. I'm guessing they're cheese curds. A black bunned burger? WTF!?! haha.. definitely odd looking I agree No different than Taco Hell's occasional colored shells (black, red, etc.) Though their's are done from corn.. Not sure how you'd do it with wheat unless it's good old-fashioned food dye Most black breads I know of are rye (more brown).. and that doesn't really sound appetizing on a hamburger. Of course I'm sure half of America's cuisine looks just as monstrous to other countries
Scorge Posted January 8, 2012 Posted January 8, 2012 Taco Hell's Taco Hell!?! I haven't laughed for 4 days, that just set me off.
90SK Posted January 8, 2012 Posted January 8, 2012 I had a dream last night that I ate one of these, the darth vader burger. Looks like moldy bread huh
Blix Posted January 9, 2012 Posted January 9, 2012 I'd probably try the Maul one if I had the chance, looks heart attack-inducingly yummy!
LordOfTheFish Posted January 10, 2012 Posted January 10, 2012 That Dark Side burger looks pretty good. Can't say the same for the others...
Sabretooth Posted January 10, 2012 Posted January 10, 2012 How did they make the bun black, did they burn it or something?
Pho3nix Posted January 10, 2012 Posted January 10, 2012 Just color additives, I presume unless that was sarcasm
Sabretooth Posted January 10, 2012 Posted January 10, 2012 Huh, I didn't know there was a black colour additive. I guess it just isn't very popular.
Negative Sun Posted February 6, 2012 Posted February 6, 2012 Taco Hell!?! I haven't laughed for 4 days, that just set me off. A bit of trivia: Taco Hell is Max Faraday's favourite fast food restaurant in Jim Lee's 90's comic series "Divine Right" Im going back home to Belgium this week will they be available there Miltiades?
Miltiades Posted February 7, 2012 Posted February 7, 2012 Im going back home to Belgium this week will they be available there Miltiades? Just yesterday I saw a poster ad with the Star Wars burgers, so yeah, probably.
Samuel Dravis Posted February 8, 2012 Posted February 8, 2012 Oh, I'd definitely try these, if only they were available in Texas. I'm probably the reason corporations that exploit people exist, but hey, somebody has to be that guy....
Sith Holocron Posted February 8, 2012 Author Posted February 8, 2012 If someone does have one of these "culinary terrors," I'd love to hear a review. It would amuse me to actually read a fast food review on LucasForums for some reason . . . An update to the Quick Restaurants Star Wars menu: Cheesy Étoiles! A rough translation: Mouthfuls of delicious crisp starlight: melted Swiss cheese-based and mozzarella So it is fried mozzarella in star shapes basically . . .
d3sd0 Posted February 12, 2012 Posted February 12, 2012 AHAH this gave me a good life. And if it's any consolation my sister and I call it "Toxic Hell"
