Monkey Island Frantic – EXCLUSIVE First Look

It’s the game Huz has patiently been requesting for literal years: Monkey Island Frantic, now in beta testing. For those not familiar with the concept:

 

• Pieces of a screenshot from a Monkey Island game will rapidly appear on the screen.
• Type in your best guess (or use the auto-complete function) of what location the scene is from in the text field.
• Click “Guess” to submit your answer.
• You have unlimited guesses because that’s how gosh darn generous we are!

 

You score on guesses, not time. Taking a few seconds to get a clearer overview will make the game a lot easier.

 

For the beta phase, I'm looking for bugs, and also checking on the difficulty level. Apparently Mojole is too hard for some of you chickens. Anyway, play!

it was fun, it took me a while but I did get it on the first try. At first, I thought it was Phatt Island Wharf because of Kate's poster in the inventory. Maybe it would be easier if the screenshots didn't have inventory on the bottom.

Took me several attempts, so it was way more than 31 seconds. 

Inventory definitely made it harder.

I'm on the fence about the inventory part -- frankly, I was thinking it'd be too easy without it, but I might be miscalculating using Sushi and Huz’s Mojole levels as the baseline.

It's a fun idea but this game is making me dizzy because the images appear so quickly.

I guess adding a setting to slow it down would make the game too easy?

It's really intense! I adapted a bit by not following one image, but to jump ahead with my eyes waiting for it to come by.

I mean, it is called frantic. 
 

That said, I might put in a casual mode as it wouldn’t take anything doing so.

slightly off because I had to switch to Chrome, since in mobile Firefox the autocompletion doesn't seem to work. I entered the correct Island name as my 2nd guess but it didn't match the official answer

Suggest a "I give up" button? (Or just limiting it to 5 tries)
