Good bye everyone

This forum is not what it used to be..... I don't expect to return anytime soon (but that could always change)

Thanks to Kvan, Tie Guy, Leon, Rommel, Fergie, Clefo, Rogue15, Jedi Masta, Rhett, Chris, Jay, who were co-founders of this forums, It has been a wonderful time this 6 months here.

If there's an expansion announcement I'll be back to reach the 1000 posts, goal I never reached even though I'm here literally since forever.

So farewell all (and I'm hoping Rhett hands me my good bye basket, hear that Rhett? ;))

Well, i can't say i disagree, the forum is definately ALOT different than it used to be. And not all of the change has been good, namely all the useless threads on the board.

Still, that doesn't mean you can leave!!! You must come back at least every once in a while. We need good people like you if the boards are ever gonna get back to the way they were.

Hey thanks guys! I'll come back every once in a while, don't worry, I'll reach 1000 posts and I will keep my same avatar :D

Besides, I said I'd come back when the expansion was announced, and since the last Lucas Arts newletter says there will be announcements the following weeks.... well you never know, you won't even feel I left.

Once again, thanks a lot to everyone, and we'll see each other again!!!

Just one last thing: Would someone please take over the pro-Mon Calamari campaign?

Due to time constraints, I didn't post this last night- my "good bye" speech. Dedicated to Compa of course! :D

"Compa was one of the first. Back then, we had this nifty little program called "The TIE and Rommel Show", it ran 24 hrs a day. Little did newbie-Compa know, that he would soon become an intergal part of the cast...

Compa was a black sheep, though. He was one of the few members who has interested in talking about GB, predict units stats, etc. The general populace was more interested in raising their post counts. You see, spammers are a dime-a-dozen. It's those people, the kind that post high quality, insightful info/thoughts who are really special. I wish I could count myself among this rare group... YD, Compa, and Leon are all fine examples. Compa's kind are the type that no one specifically strives to be (at first, but are the kind that everyone should be- model forummers.

One of the thing I admired about COmpa, was the care he took in making sure his posts were readable. Like the work of a skilled wood-carver, the skill behind the work is stunningly noticeable- I only saw Compa make a spelling mistake once. All of his posts were laid out in a sensible fashion (unlike mine!) and you could see that each thought was not a spontaneous idea, but a well thought out theory.

Thank you, Compa. You were a law-abiding citizen in the the old sheriff-less days. Your self-control is admirable.

You'll be missed.

Here is more. I have a couple pages of this type of crap... as you can see: this forum infects your mind...

As another bird leaves the roost, I find myself more-or-less alone. Relations with my old buddies have broken down. My time is also growing short.

TIE and I were the first care-givers for this forum. We bottle-fed the little guy, helped it through it's first weeks of life.

COmpa, Kvan, Tie Guy, Leon, Me, Fergie, Clefo, Rogue15, Jedi Masta, Rhett, Chris, Thrawn, and Jay taught it how to walk.

Now, the forums has out-grown us. It has become totally self-sufficient. We are no longer needed-- heck, I can leave for weeks and no one will even notice! It used to be that if I left for more than an hour, about a hundred "where is he" threads would have been created. Our forums is now a tempermental adolescen, who doesn't want us around. Ouch. it was so cute though...

I remember saying once: "What would these forums be without me". Now I wonder if I'm needed at all.

Bye Compa, and bye everyone else- you won't be seein' much of me anymore... it was fun...

*foreboding music* The TORCH has now been passed, for the next generation to hold...

The forums are different, and they seem pretty dull now, compared to life was like in the old days...

Hopefully we'll meet again, Compa... *crosses fingers* Bye.

*STATIC*--Rommel Out--*STATIC* ;)

ah, the old days...i remember rs.net's olden days...learned some things recently of a moderator who was demoted and banned, and why ike doesn't trust me too well....hehe don't worry, soon this place will be emtpy!!! i just KNOW it. next year, it'll be completely different, not as much of the old posters will post, most of the good ones will leave, and then there'll be maybe 5-10 regular posters...

It happened at rs.net, xwa.net, and recently at JK.net. it WILL happen here too. It's inevitable. It is your destiny to go away and never come back, you olden day poster!!! There is no escape. mwahahahahahahahahahahahah /end sith knight laughter.

Man...Rommel is right...

I havn't seen a "where is he" thread in forever. UNless it is over someone who is gone for months...

Yeah this forum has changed. Some for the good...Some for the bad.

But there is no reason to stop posting all together unless you are completely board or just don't like the forums anymore. I'm posting less and less these days because of PS2 and PC fun...but durring the summer, when everyone is tring to find something to do, they'll be turning to the forums like we did Months ago...
