SiThLoRd><1000
Have any of you people heard about the Greeks?!?! Holy Crap! They banned all video games, cell phone games, etc. because they could be "Illegal Gambling." I just heard about this issue. They have a link at jediknightii.net about info and a petition you can sign. That is so much bullsh*t!!!! What the f*ck is the world coming to. Your comments... Kyth'emos
UH, they didnt ban cell phones. But if you are caught playing games on it you are in trouble. Second I doubt it would last long but sgning an online petiotion isn't gonna do anything. Thirdly I dont live in or plan to visit greece so I could not care less. SiThLoRd><1000
I'm saying what I read off Msn and other various sites. Cell phones was on the list. But they may of been mis informed. Also, how can you say that??? That is robbing honest innocent people of such great things. And what if such ideals spread? Think about it... Kyth'emos
Like I said it wont last... besides I could use a good reason to spend less time on the computer. I really dont think it would be so horibble, it would just take a little (OK alot) of getting used to.

pik-ard
i doubt america, england, and pretty much every country would follow greeks ban if video games... because video games = money, and money = good economy, and good economy = more for the gov to steal; so really, theres nothing to worry about:D
Boba Rhett
Think that's weird? Microsoft is holding a contest for their new game AoE and guess were they're sending the winner. That's right, to the one place on earth were you can't play games!
SiThLoRd><1000
Originally posted by pik-ard i doubt america, england, and pretty much every country would follow greeks ban if video games.= I did not say that. I'd said what if these ideals caught on... (most likely the dominant world powers ould never socomb to such things, hopefully at no time even if for a small ammount of time...) ShockV1.89
They banned cellphones that can play games. http://www.gamespydaily.com/news/fullstory.asp?id=3939 That really blows, but its way too extreme. I doubt it'll last long, but even if it does, that would never fly in the USA or most European countries... ShockV1.
Ratmjedi
That is one *ucked up rule. I think we should ship video games over there so that they don't have to be robbed like that.
XERXES
that is ridicilious warm regards, XERXES
NerfYoda
Making it illegal will only create more criminials & fill up their jails &/or work them out their hard earned money by fines. Making it illegal will get more people to do it, what with the whole "thrill" in breaking the law.. especailly a silly one like this one.
Darth Groovy
Not only that, but they will create yet another black market for the kids in Greece. Can you say Prohibition anyone?

leXX
It is one of the most ridiculous laws I have ever heard of! Of course it can only lead to crime.
Kstar__2
it could be that that rule was made by people who don't understand a f*ck about computers, and thought: if we can't nowone can well, even if so, it is the most stupid law in history

ShockV1.89
lol I just realized, this gonna spawn a whole new breed of "hardcore renegade gamers." "Yeah, boy, I'm an l33t d00d! I'm from Gr33ce and I st1ll play! j00 can't handle dat!" For gods sake, toss that law out. ShockV1.
Nanodagiardino
Whata BS. Gamblers will find other things to gamble on(wouldn't want to put NEW ideas into them, but things like games, races, events, pets, neighbors)... gamers will have a sad illegal life downloading illegal software from the net... a few poor unlucky sod will get cought and end up paying fines or going to jail even... and there will be black markets... and organized crime will flourish... etc etc... hope it doesn't last. The Truthful Liar
Heh, this is one of the stupidest confessions I've ever heard... "Can't distinguish the difference between games and gambling" - then I highly suggest that they have a change of government, because that's just blatantly sad. Also yeh... there are things like kazaa etc... people will resort to internet warez and pr0n at worst. This kind of resolution will NOT help nor resolve anything. *tsk tsk tsk*
