Drenched

Performed by Vent

Lyrics By Darth Groovy(AKA Taro)

Skin feels so wet,

gave up trying to regret,

eyes are filling up again,

visions are thicker in pairs of ten,

or maybe eleven...

our faces are cut to even imperfection,

do you remember how you came this far?

do you remember who's driving this car?

at the stoplight.....

you never think of who you are!

They keep on laughing all the time,

the tape is always stuck in rewind

instead of trying to change the time

try putting your head back in your mind!

Walked down to the lakeshore today

tripping over boddies we once knew,

some faces for familiar but only few

theres always a party when there is nothing to do- I'll just wait and get invited too! Well it's still a few and maybe some, well I'll be a son of gun!

Guess you know you can't be right, you can never always be alright....

at the stoplight

at the stoplight

forgot what it was, but then it all hit at once...

at the stoplight, you never think of where you are.

It was a feeling that you never had, don't cry for me, you will surely be glad.

Father was a guy who probably was my dad, don't cry over that I never said I was sad,

Yes I know that I can never be right!

If we try real hard we can blow up the night!

at the stoplight

at the stoplight

at the stoplight

we never got very far,

at the stoplight

get out of the car,

you never know just what you are!

[edit this was originally performed by a band I was in during this time and was our most popular song, it had sort of a New Order style to it. I posted this to support my push for the creation of the stories forum at Jkii.net :) There is a sea of material where this came from]

[this is the title track from the same album that last one came off of, that's right, we had a CD out!:p]

The Terrace Edge Chronicles

Performed by: Vent

Lyrics by Taro

[verse 1]

Away from she ran from the slave,

ashes to ashes from dust she came,

throught all this tyranny, the violence remains.

Burned out memories healing wounds the madness set in full

a taunting vision of sensuality.

The stains of which, lie on the surface,

scratching to cleanse in a twitch between the days....

[chorus]

Once could see a world of pleasure,

once could live again,

back from abandoned legends...

and words could mock these sins.

[verse 2]

A deep and tragic voice,

so evil it seems

once tried to give it back

once tried to live again

standing on the edge of her balcony

teardrops on her chin

the music echoes out so softly

waiting for the dream to begin.

[chorus]

Once Could see a world of pleasure,

once could live again,

back from abandoned legends...

and words could mock these sins.

[verse 3]

In the light of the monday morning

I remember the day

the cuts on her tender face

on the sidewalk she laid

immeresed in pools of plasma

showcased grave on display

ashes in the urn stashed away

[Chorus]

Once could see a world of pleasure,

once could live again,

back from abandoned legends...

and words could mock these sins

and words could mock these sins

and words could mock these sins

Okay, Groovy, I'll play ball. :)

This is a FanFic for the game RUNE, that I wrote prior to that game's release. Surprisingly, it sort of follows the plot of the game itself. Anyway, this is it...

----------

The Saga Of Ragnar

by Rob 'StormHammer' Bowen

Across the land he marched all day,

To avenge his brethren lost;

He swore an oath to Odin he'd

Redeem them, "Any cost!"

As mist roiled from the mountaintop,

And thunder cracked the skies;

A darkness crept across the land,

But touched not Ragnar's eyes.

The frost giants snarled from their abode,

As they watched the Viking near;

But when they saw his fiery eyes,

They all had cause to fear.

They seemed alight with fiery rage,

A lava flow of pain;

They severed the darkness all around,

And Ragnar seemed insane.

A giant barred the Viking's path,

And was the first to fall;

And by the time the sun had set

Ragnar had killed them all.

He found the entrance of a cave,

And worked his way within;

And as a goblin he espied,

His face split in a grin.

"I'll have your hide to mend my boots,

You foul underground spawn!"

Cried Ragnar as he drew his axe,

And blew his battle horn.

The mighty blade sang through the air,

And struck the Goblin's head;

With a terrible scream, a crunch, a choke,

The Goblin fell - quite dead.

For days he seemed to wander,

Through the Goblins' foul domain;

He cleaved their skulls and smashed their bones,

'Til he saw the light again.

And as he clambered from the cave,

He saw the town below;

He steeled his heart and sharpened his axe;

"It's there I have to go!"

He reached the outskirts of the town,

And no-one barred his way;

His heavy brows knit in a frown,

But he would not turn away.

He rushed into the dark town's heart,

And snarled with all his might:

"Where are you, murderers of my kin,

Are you afraid to fight?"

For a moment silence filled the town,

Then Ragnar looked around,

And there he saw the dark vikings,

Who had not made a sound.

Now they screamed and raised their swords

And at the Viking sped,

Ragnar laughed and spun his axe,

And cleaved the first fool's head.

Ragnar flexed his mighty thews,

And fought with manic glee,

Dark vikings' heads littered the ground

And they began to flee.

"My brethren all have been avenged,

My own wounds, they will heal."

But with the mists the Wendol came,

To make of him their meal.

As the last light of the day,

Was strangled by the night,

The Viking raised his bloody hands,

And roared "You want a fight?"

----------

So there you have it. Here's another that is semi-related, regarding Ragnarok...

----------

Is This Ragnarok?

by Rob 'StormHammer' Bowen

The Rune God cries

As the Titans rise

And the thunder splits the sky.

Through Halls of stone,

Filled with shattered bone,

We wander, you and I.

The ravens scream,

Is this just a dream?

I'm near death as I walk through town.

And Hel I see,

Reaching up for me,

As a one-eyed man falls down.

Dwellers in the Dark

Is this Ragnarok?

The blood streams from my eyes...

Dwellers in the Dark

Is this Ragnarok?

Who is left to hear my cries...?

----------

I'm actually trying to get back into my (creative) writing and art work, after an absence from both. I hope to get some of my stories (not poems like the above) published one day. :) For this reason, I tend not to write fan fiction very often...but I'm currently holding a debate with myself in committee about writing something related to Jedi Outcast...

Here Lies A Man

Music by Vent

Lyrics by Taro

Post modern world,

cultures of past decay,

clock rings forth it's siren,

awakens to abstract form of day.

No pity for the self conscience,

the tyranny and endless strife.

Shredding at humanity,

this jagged rusty knife.

Time is of the essence.

No time bought and sold.

The future in an hour glass,

running out as youth grow old.

The clockwork wisdom.

The dark at the end of the day.

The children of tomorrow

all hope eroded away.

The leaders of yesterday

collapsing now with fear.

All dreams are shattered

with every tear.

Tension builds on higher levels

stress flows to the brain.

Surrenity diminishing

hostility remains

Time is of the esence.

No time bought and sold

withered away by reality.

So here comes this man

at the dawn of the birth of the moment.

Here comes this man,

as the crowds huddle silent.

The speeches are made,

the plans are forged in stone,

the strikes begin,

as a battle rages on.

At the top of it all,

the desctruction remains.

What has become of tomorrow?

our world engulfed in sorrow,

here lies a man,

who's soul has become hollow

his life begins to crash,

hopes and futures smashed

no way to cope with the burdened masses

the ripping of flesh,

the blood and the mess,

in death he falls...

bottomless

Here in his prison

it is written:

Here lies a man,

who died with his dreams.

There is no place,

for moral conviction.

There is no place

in this mal-fiction.

Groovy...if you need something to convert .WAV files to .MP3 files, you could try MusicMatch...the Basic (free) version allows you to do conversions.

Then just upload it to some webspace, and whack up a link so we can download it. :) If you can't find suitable web space, I'll host a file or two for you...as long as they're not too big (I'm not sure if I have a 2Mb file limit on my email).

Like I did ^in my previous post^. :)

This was written to be a song, I was listening to alot of Stone Temple Pilots when I wrote this. I recorded it on an 8-track with a band called Set-Up who sounded really good, but I never got to play with them because they decided to go the rap/311 sound and ditched the cool smoothe grunge sound/rock sound. Anyways, here is my song:D

Expensive

{verse 1}

Passed by the lots the lost impared,

broken by the bones were sold and shared,

lost in a vision was the mission,

could'nt explain why the planes were missing

not the fault of the flawed invention

not the worst of my best intentions

inside I hear a voice ringin'

was the fat lady singin'?

{chorus}

Feeling so indecisive,

one more push and I might give,

one last breath and I might live...

...and shine through tomorrow,

one last act for the last show,

take a bow for the sorrow,

one more push and I might go,

too expensive to swallow!

{verse 2}

One last twist to turn away,

one last word that saved the day,

magic numbers numeric pictures,

broken bottles and boring lectures,

puncture wounds and mobile homes,

sunlight shadows casting stones,

something left from the night before,

something left from the life before,

{chorus x 2}

Feeling so indecisive,

one more push and I might

one more breath and I might live...

...and shine through tomorrow!

One last act for the last show,

take a bow for the sorrow,

one more push and I might go,

too expensive to swallow!

Alright, here's a song I wrote. Tonight actually. In about an hour. Don't know why, not even sure what it's about, but here it is...

Forever Searching:

I walk alone, down this, empty street.

There's no one I know, no friends, out to meet.

I don't know where I'm going, but I don't really care.

I guess I'll just figure it out...if I get there.

Cause I'm searching for a moment.

Is it one that has already passed?

Still searching, for a moment.

Has it's time, come at last?

I walk alone through the, cold dark night.

Through this, empty town, through this, empty life.

I pass others out walking, steer clear of their glare.

Nothing to see so I just look ahead... and stare.

Cause I'm searching for a moment.

Is it one that has already passed?

Still searching, for a moment.

Has it's time, come at last?

And I constantly wonder, if this is all?

Just walk along the edge and pray that you don't fall.

Just wait out your life and hope that it will pass.

Trying to stay hidden in a house made of glass

Everyone sees you, they know you by name.

But knowing yourself, you know that's not the same.

Because the person they see, and the person you are.

Are not even close, not even by far.

And you just want to leave, just get up and go.

Pack up your life, and get on with the show.

Leave it all behind and start over again.

But the truth is it's not that simple...my friend.

I walk alone, past the, last street light.

Leave behind this old town, leave behind this old life.

Walk away in the night, head out into the black.

I'll make it this time, if I don't...look...back.

Cause I'm searching for a moment.

Is it one that has already passed?

Still searching, for a moment.

Has it's time, come at last?

And I'm searching for my moment.

Yes, I'm walking away from my past.

I've finally found my moment.

My time has come at last.

All the commas are meant to represent a slight pause, while the three periods represent a longer one. I thought this was the best way to try and show the rhythm of the song, which has a very off kilter rhythm anyway. Don't be too harsh on me, as it's the first song I've ever really wrote...

It's meant to be an acoustic song, in case anyone was wondering. I've even put some music to it.

here are some peoms I wrote... be nice, dammit:mad: :D

here's one on Icarus(duh:rolleyes: )

The Fate of Icarus

Pasting on those wings of white.

Preparing for that fateful flight.

Icarus is doomed to die

When he takes flight in the sky.

Falling slowly, falling fast

Into the ocean great and vast.

Beneath the waves his life is ended

Before his body can be mended.

Poor Icarus. Doomed to fall.

Poor Icarus. Destined to die

Fulfilling destiny’s call.

here's one I wrote about Jedi Knight

Jedi

Once he was young and rash.

Swinging wildly his saber would clash.

But when he learned to use it right

he could not lose any fight.

Defeating Yun, the first to fall,

he moved on to Pic, oh so small.

And when Gorc was ended

Maw could not be defended

and Sariss was the next to go.

Boc was crude and rude and so.

Jerec was last but he fell too,

and so saving the galaxy was through.

and one I wrote the other night

The Hord

Where they go they leave not but pain.

Making me cold and less than sane.

Everything is lost. Nothing restored.

Everything dies in the wake of the Hord.

The valiant, the noble, the good.

Now evil and death where they once stood.

Those that tried are those that failed.

Now the demons, the horrors, unveiled.

Frightened eyes watch them draw near.

But they are motionless, frozen by fear.

They cut at my insides with some psyonic sword.

Transforming me into another of the lifeless Hord.

as you can see I wright happy poems

. but happy poems arn't as much fun;)

Song I wrote. Nothing fancy, but it plays good on my guitar :p

The life of Trilliad

*music intro*

Passing through the desert life

Running with his steed

Young Trilliad came a'charging

With all of his speed

-chorus-

Time goes by

He has no time left

all by his loooooooonesome.

Off until he rises again

to fight for the riiiiiiiiiightous.

*music solo here*

Young Trilliad came to town

Seeking his glory

He came and left without a thing

Nothing, not even a story.

*chorus*

-music changes a little bit-

Now Trilliad is all but gone,

just a myth in history.

no one knows his rightful name

But to all it is a mystery.

*chorus*

-end-
