Marek
Evan Dickens calls Maniac Mansion the 14th best adventure game of all times. Oh, the CONTROVERSY!! Has Evan taken too much mushrooms, or do you agree? You can read the article here: http://www.adventuregamers.com/display.php?id=186&p=8 P.S. Benny
Maniac Mansion above MI2? He's mad, mad I tell you! <insert various 'mad smileys' here>
Remi
How he could put that game above MI2 is beyond me. Yes, it was revolutionary, but hell if it was a whole lot of fun. Not Top 20 fun, anyway.
Feral
Despite the name, wasn't SCUMM first implemented in Zak McKracken? And placing MI2 at #18? BASS is one hell of a game, and I agree with everything he said in his review of that game, but I'm pissed that MI2 isn't in the top 4.
telarium
Zak came out after Maniac Mansion. And yes, there is no way Maniac Mansion is a better game than Monkey Island 2... erm, in my opinion. Yes.
Alien426
This is Evan Dickens! And MM is probably the worst LA adventure. I haven't even played it to the end, so my opinion may not be deeply rooted.
Wizball
Seems I'm the only one liking MM I might be biased because this game was my first Lucasfilm game I ever owned and played. It was the only game for my c=64 that was not copied back then for a very long time... I could choose one game that my parents bought me along with this new c=64 computer and I choosed Maniac Mansion (pretty amazing for being only 12 years old...). I think the game is very good even today (Recently re-played it) and every LEC fan should have played it. I can't judge if it's better or worse than any other LEC game because for me they all kick ass
telarium
No, I like Maniac Mansion as well. It was the first LucasArts game I ever played... hell, the first adventure game I ever played. I admire it in many ways, but I really believe that Monkey Island 2 is a far better game.
BooJaka
SQ4 is number 13. Admittedly it should much higher but you can't have everything, eh?
The Adventurer
I personaly agree with the list so far, It takes a lot of guts to not put most of Lucasart's Adventurers on a Top anything list. I hope Zork Grand Inquistor places or maybe Blade Runner
elTee
This should be interesting. I will await the top ten before passing verdict, unless something truly shocking (Grim Fandango at no. 12??!?!?, for example) occurs.

elTee
Seriously??! Oh no, thats just wrong. I mean, the reason this is LucasForums and not SierraForums, or InfocomForums is that LucasArts make the best adventure games! I know that there are other companies, revolution etc, that make great adventure games that equal those made by LucasArts, but Grim Fandango is the joint best adventure game ever made! 12?? If they put it out of the top 3 its a travesty.
Remi
Who knows though, the chart is looking kinda different this year; last time they (or he rather) didn't include Monkey 2 at all. My personal opinion is that both MI2 and Grim should be in the top 3.
elTee
I agree. If they count LBA2 as an adventure, the top 5 should include (in my opinion): Grim Fandango, Monkey Island 2, Little Big Adventure 2, The Longest Journey in any order.
The Adventurer
Guys, you do realize Adventurer Gamers site is deticated to ALL adventure game companys right? This is a Lucasarts deticated Site so we're all biased to Lucas Adventurers. And with good reason Lucas Adventures are some of the greatest games ever made, But remember there are only 14 Lucas Art Adventure games and not all of them are top 20 material. I personal Like it when other Adventure game company's get the spot light in Lists like this, I've never even played Beneth a Steel Sky until they mentioned it and now I've picked up a copy and am happaly playing away at one of the best adventure games I've ever played(get your copy too for free(its legal!) from The Underdogs ) I for one think his list has been spot on,(except for maybe MI2 its atleast a 5 in my book)
QueZTone
currently how i see it my top10 (who cares about what i think, but still, oh and i even might be forgetting games heh, oh and i didnt want to put in more games of a series (mi1,mi3, gk2, brokensword1, pq2, tex3,5) 10. Police Quest 1 9. Broken Sword 2 8. Tex Murphy and the Pandora Directive 7. Indy & Fate of Atlantis 6. Gabriel Knight 3 5. Full Throttle 4. Day of the Tentacle 3. Operation Stealth 2. Grim Fandango 1. Monkey Island 2 *this list may change once people remind me of greater adventures
BooJaka
Judging by some of the things that have been said (ie: not being able to decide which SQ game to put in) it sounds like there isn't going to be more than one game from a series in the list. If MM is in there, does it mean that DOTT won't make it?

My feeling is DoTT is fundimentily Different then MM to the point they could be seperate choises, but I don't think we'll see another MI game on the list as most monkey island games build upon each other. My top 10 as long as we're on the subject 10)Myst 3: Exile 9)The Neverhood 8)Zork Nemesis 7)Full Throttle 6)Return to Zork 5)Blade Runner 4)Zork Grand Inquistior 3)MI2 2)Curse of Monkey Island 1)Grim Fandango

I have played almost every traditional point and click there is, I have all the sierra games, all the revolution adventures, simon the sorcerer 1, 2 and 3, Discworld 1, 2 and Noir, even the obscurities like shadow of the comet and I have no mouth and I must scream. I don't like Zork style first person games (not including Normality) and so I haven't played too many of those. The only LEC games I WOULDN'T put in my top 20 are Maniac Mansion and Zak McKracken. elTee
There's nothing wrong with Zak McKracken, its just there are better games that I can think of. I agree with the fact that LucasArts don't make ALL the best games, its just that they are all good. I mean, Little Big Adventure 2 is in my top 3 games ever, but I wouldn't put LBA1 in my top 20 at all. Sierra have made a few good games that I like, but they have also made some dire ones. The Adventurer
The main weakness of sieria games in the eyes of Lucasarts Adventurers is the fact that in many of the "Classic" Sieria adventurers you could die, ALL THE FREAKING TIME! SOmething that us "Never get stuck" gamers have never grown acustom too. Similar in reverse, Sieria die-hards got used to the twitch puzzles and when they came over to Lucasland they discoved that the games where to easy to work your way through and didn't have the length(due to not having to reload every 5 secs) Personaly? You can't have one without the other. To loss one would be chaos.
