Cantina 9-The Last Hope

*Flax looks at the frozen soldiers, some were protected by the shields, however 30 lay dead.*

Flax: *growl.* We won't be out numbered for long. *Flax gestures and the remaining warriors jump off the building, as soon as they clear the wall they open parashoots and float away.* Even now the Armies of Agumar are surrounding this structure, as to magic, well; how about this?

*Flax gestures and the chains around Drago burn away. Then Flax makes a fist. When he opens his hand it releaces a force energy ball, he flings this at the Vampires, it expands, drawing energy from the very fabric of their bodies. By the time it dissipates 40 vampires are less than dust.*

((Red, you can drop out when ever but if you overshoot the preprogrammed exit your stuck. Also this is going to get bloodier, so feel free people. As to my plot twist, well its not that good.))

*Lelan and the Vampires with her make their way to the tower, they arrive just in time to see the energy ball dissipate.*

Vertmor: "Aw, hell..." *Lowers reaver* "Get em."

*A very decent number for Vertmor's Horde, jumps from the balcony and encircles Deac, and those around him.*

-----------

*Sir'din goes to the bridge.*

Sir'Din: "You have been following the planned course correct?"

Computer voice: "Positive commander."

Sir'Din: "Good, jump out of hyper space, and rejump and head for the rendezvous point before any Imperial ships arrive..."

*The ship jumps out of Hyperspace, then changes direction, and then rejumps for the Inner Rim.*

*The ship breaks from hyper space. Entering the Duriel System, a 7 planet system, with 2 habitable planets, Planet Duriel beign the capital planet.*

((o.O? BD: Where was the stuck in hyperspace clause mentioned in any SW literature? Cuz I totally can't remember anything like it.

Waitasec...burning up 40 vampires by drawing from the fabric from their bodies...what's the Force power for that? Sounds awfully like when Scar's own uber 'Jedi' combusted your Knights and you called it godmode...^.^

Also note I intended that your knights could get out of the way of the iceball...hence me not listing casualties...

Lastly: I don't remember Flax' military ranking, so I'm ad-libbing :D))

Starr: Admiral Flax? *hears the sounds of battle* ...Is this a bad time?

----------

*More chains of duracrete spring up as fast as the others were burnt away. Rwos cuts them with his lightsword before they can spring up fully, grabbing Drago*

Rwos: Behind these buildings. The vampire mage can't cast his spells at us if we're out of his sight, at least not from that distance.

*Vampires spill into the sidestreets after them, heedless of the danger of running blindly into an enemies' postion. The vampires are outmatched one-on-one, but keep coming like ants.

Gilian, having gotten further back from the others, stabs her opponent viciously in the stomach, rather than going for a killing blow. She then clubs the vampire's head, then drags him, doubled over in pain, through the door or an emptied restaurant. She shoves him against a wall, dagger to his eye*

Gilian: Your leaders are planning something big. You're going to tell me what that is, or I'll put this blade through your skull.

*Another vampire bursts in the door behind them. Gilian whacks his head off before even turning around. The wounded vampire struggles to get away*

Vampire: Filthy, human filth...we'll wipe you all out...there's nothing you can do to stop it...

*Gilian stabs the dagger into the vampire's eye. The vampire screams in pain*

Gilian: Want to keep your other eye? Better start saying what I want to hear, fast.

*The vampire gasps in pain. Gilian brings the tip of the dagger within centimeters of his other eye, touching the eyelid*

Vampire: W-w-wait! He's---they're---will---going to turn---going to...

Gilian: Going to turn? Turn what? How?

Vampire: K-k-vana...going to turn out the...

*Gilian presses closer*

Vampire: ...Going to turn out the suns...forever.

*The vampire grins through his pain. Gilian stabs him in the heart with a stake. His body transforms to dust, the unleashed energy obliterating his organic clothing with him*

*Three Vampires sneek up on Rwos just after he killed he vampire, they grab his arms and legs, and begin to bind them with police style hand cuffs, considering a logal regement was 'turned'...*

*Nearly a dozen vampires begin to creep up on Flax, keeping hidden from him....*

((Scar, that maps wrong. Some of those Imperial worlds are owned by the Republic. Cracken, have you been conquering on the sly?

Redwing, in Planet of Twighlight 3PO and R2 get captured by a smuggler and then R2 rigs the navcom while they're in transit. He has to let them go or they're all stuck for good.))

Flax: *Pulls rip cord.* It could be better, and its General, not Admiral. We currently have something of a situation here so please be brief.

*>1,500 warriors mass around the Vampires. Ready to attack. However they hold, content to trap the enemy.*

*Deac' Comlink beeps.*

Hal: Sir, you'd better get clear. We're proton bombing in 2 minutes.*

*Deac leaps in the air, and lands behind his makeshift wall. Unfortunately Lokpihet's remains are waiting for him*

Remains: Thought...you could get away.

*Lokpihet sets the rest of the road on fire*

This ends here.

*The remains charge at Deac, who blocks, only to find the remains are resistant to lightsabers*

((OOS:No, not that i know of.... meh. it's just a reference map anyway. so it's a little eh. ^_^))

Tactical: Sirs, should we launch support fighter to assist?

Tojo:Go ahead, but i doubt it will work. Have them try to clear the area around the General. do NOT KILL the General or any of his allies.

Tactical: yessir. *The tac. officer keys the ship comm* All hands, prepare for combat, this is not a drill, i repeat, this is NOT a drill. All pilots to your fighters.

*From the belly of the masive ship, Tie Defenders pour out, and streak toward Coruscant. The CAG boardcasts a signla to teh New Republic*

CAG:New Republic, please open sections of the planitary shield for the incoming fighters to assist General Flax.

((BD: When did sixty warriors multiply to around 1500? Did i miss something? o.O

Also, just a warning: don't immediately post the effects the attacks have, desire for a bloodbath effect notwithstanding... expect the unexpected ^_~

And: What Admiral said))

Starr: My apologies General. I need to find your associate, the extradimensional being Termand Rwos; I require his assistance in an extremely important matter. Also, I am somewhat advised of your situation...be aware we will offer any help you wish us to.

----------

*Kvana looks at the sky. Soon, he sensed, the mortals would bring in their death-raining machines. This presented a danger, even though he had magic protection fields shielding the tower and the vampires in the courtyard; for energy was energy, and their "turbolasers" or "proton bombs" would eventually eat their way through.

This wouldn't be a problem at first, only when the spell he was preparing required his full attention. He hoped they would strike now, rather than wait. If they did...they would have quite an interesting surprise.

Kvana, overlooking the vital courtyard below, begins to cast the sanctuary spells needed for its protection*

----------

Damn. Keep forgetting that vampires can move in dead silence.

*Rwos, growling, strains and snaps the binders. Luckily the vampires had never dealt with gargoyle strength. He bats the first vampire away, and begins fighting the other two*

((Yes Redwing, about 4 pages back I introduced my army.

As to hyperspace, you can drop out early, but NOT late. Early is fine. Late is fatal. Although when a ship is yanked out it does damage the drive. It happens more than 5 times and you're looking at a definite field repair.))

Flax: Starr, we can handle it, the offer is appriciated.

((*Gets too confused with everything here and goes to look up info*

From TFN's technical commentaries on hyperspace:

Ships destroyed in hyperspace are never known to return their debris to realspace, and ships which experience accidents while jumping in or out tend to leave very little wreckage. According to Major Sil Sorannan, who once worked for a military research team in experimental hyperphysics, objects released in hyperspace always remain in hyperspace. To return from hyperspace requires the use of a hyperdrive. This makes perfect sense in terms of the tachyonic view of hyperspace and superluminal travel elucidated above.

(...)

Once in hyperspace, and object remains free in hyperspace. Collisions or anything else which causes it to lose energy will simply cause it to move faster. The action of a hyperdrive is required to make the jump back to realspace.

It kinda seems like missing your exit point is insignificant, it's whether or not you have a working hyperdrive...that would explain both references quoted here nicely.

Also from the description of Hyperspace Orbiting Scanners I gather hyperspace tracking isn't impossible, just practically impossible.

Another interesting thing:

Experienced hyperspace scouts may have a limited skill in interpreting the swirls of hyperspace in terms of realspace star clusters and nebulae. Thus with good reflexes and good luck new jump routes can be safely explored. It was in this way that young sibling scouts Gav and Jori Daragon accidentally discovered a fast route between the known worlds of the Old Republic and the isolated Sith Empire. Manual hyperspace scouting is extremely dangerous and is usually performed by inexpensive probe droids rather than crewed vessels.

So not all jumps are preprogrammed; manual piloting is possible. But apparently you need special skills to do that.

Really interesting stuff :)

About army; ah, forgot I guess - however the number of vampires still outnumber them. The "courtyard" of the tower is big enough to comfortably hold half a million...why this is necessary will rapidly become clear if it hasn't already ;)))

Starr: Fighters have already been sent. Of course, if you really do not wish our help, you are free to refuse. If it is worry about security surrounding your 'vampire' problem which motivates it, however, you needn't be concerned...

*The group of Vampires pounce on Flax, whom was slight busy talking to Starr over the comm, they mug him, bind him, and strike a good decent blow on Flax's neck in attempt to Knock em out.*

Vampire: *snatching Comm* "I Don't think you need this..." *breaks the comm with one hand.*

-------------

*The vampies attempt to hold of Rwos, when Vertmor walks up behind.*

Vertmor: *With a glow red Reaver in hand* "I'll take over" *To Rwos* "I fought agenst more powerful beings like yourself, and I never had this weapon bestowed in my hands." *Grins while the Reaver starts to hum in with inticipation....*

*As Deac and The Remains fight, who should appear but*

Remains: ...Orthos my waste of a brother. I wouldn't be here if it weren't for you.

Orthos: You can't beat 2 on 1. Not when I have this...

*Orthos reveals Lokpihet's dagger, his prized weapon given to him at his birth*

I'm gonna give you a chance to go back because you were once my brother

*In a rapid manuever, Deac is knocked back into the wall by powerful dark energy. The remains leap on Orthos and begin to throttle him*

Remains: You are no brother of mine....

*It grabs the dagger from Orthos hand, and stabs it into his chest*

Deac: NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

*The Remains turn to face Deac*

You should not have done that...

*Charges at Remains...
