Surfnshannon
Hey guys! My fiancee wanted this game Medal of Honor Frontline...pretty sure the name. He is a big history buff and loves this kind of stuff. Do you guys have the game..is it worth fifty bucks? I was thinking of getting it for christmas...(ya I know 2 days away) and didn't know whether to get the PC version or the PS2 version. He likes either one. The one thing I see going for the pc version is the expansion pack that came out for it. But I like it when he plays the games on the PS2 because I can see whats going on...rather than try and stare over his shoulder at the monitor. Zygomaticus
With the PC (that would be MOH: Allied Assault) you can play online as well, which is a big plus, cuz it's so much fun to play online. Team work mixed with gamevoice, mixed with the game itself makes it so much fun. But then again, i don't own the PS2, so i cannot speak for or against it. I always felt Medal of Honor was the kind of game that gets boring with the single player and it's the multiplayer aspect of the game that keeps me loving it...but then, that's me. So if he likes Single player it might be better with the PS2, but if he's into multiplayer i'd suggest the PC
Lord Fergie
I've never played the PC and it could be the same way nor have I played the full version of the PS2 but my beat down on the PS2 demo was that the controls were standard ( up is up and down is down) while that might not seem bad and its not something I can't deal with but after years of playing reverse controls ( ariplane style to go up push down) it was confusing but I got over it after five minutes and only have the occasional breakdown. That and the people won't die the only cure for that is a rilfle shot to the head. But thats the demo so I don't guess I have any real advise. Because if hes played the game then he knows what he wants! :Notice played the demo less then 20 times:
Crazy_dog no.3
PC!!!!! I only say that becuase PC's are better than any PS2 or whatnot, and also becuase it came 10th in the PC Gamer UK's top 100 PC games of all time. And there's an Xpack. Rogue Nine
I've played both and I think it all depends on your fiance's preference. If you've got a good computer with a good graphics card and he enjoys online play, then go with the PC version and get him the Expansion to boot. They're both great. But if he prefers single-player missions and the feel of a console game, then get him the PS2 version. Personally I like the PS2 version better. The missions are hella challenging and if he's a MoH veteran, the control scheme should come naturally on a DualShock. Whatever floats his boat. Artoo
You shoulda posted a poll to summarize our reactions. Anyway, I've never really played it on PS2, but I think it would probably be better for me cause I'm solely on the single player seeing as I have a 56k modem, and also I like using a controller. Also PS2 games are much more dependable. (well in the case of my computer)

Treacherous Mercenary
I couldn't say what to get as I'm not into console gaming at all unlike computer games . As others have suggested, if he likes to play online, then MOH:AA it is I guess. I don't have the game, but have tried the demo and it's pretty good... darthfergie
If you don't like to play online with a ton of people then go for the PS2...but if you like mods and decent MP then PC. The difficulty can be astounding no matter what tho. I've seen my friends playign the PS2 version and it took almost 10 shots at close range to down a soldier...the thing is...the soldier got back up and continued to fight...but mostly it is pretty good. I, myself, would go with PS2. Mainly because I like my frame rates...
Ratmjedi
Here is my personal opinion. I say that you should go with the Medal of Honor: Allied Assualt and Spearhead expansion pack on PC rather than Medal of Honor: Frontline for PS2. In my opinion Frontline really sucked after Allied Assualt was made. Allied Assault made the new precedent for Medal of Honor games after Medal of Honor: Resistance floundered and went belly up. Allied Assualt is so good and fun in which ever way you play. I like to go back and do the funnest Single player missions and even atempt them on hard which is very hard. The Multiplayer is also fun and is actually the MP game that I play the most even though all my friends tell me to play Battlefield: 1942 Medal of Honor Allied Assualt is such a good game in my opinion and I never get tired of playing it. The MP expierence is also so good and get's addicting after playing it. I have a 56k and I play it and I still kick ass with a 300-400 ping. I took the game to a PC cafe that I go to and installed and played it with a T1 connection and was so thrilled. I am also a war buff and I can say that Allied Assualt also looks better and has a wider variety of missions than Frontline. You get to go from Africa to Normandy and then to the Germany. The control is also better than with a PS2 controller. My friends have Frontline for PS2 and don't like it that much and prefer Allied Assualt more. Think which one is more his style since you only have about one day to shop for him. Good luck and I know that he'll love whatever you get him since it came from you.
