Professor Problems

Gah. This is the only word I can motivate myself to vocalize. Gah!

Our new semester at college started this Tuesday, so we met all of our new professors, blah blah. All of my professors seem funny and/or productive except for one: my History professor. He's been there since the school opened in '63. Yes, he's damn old. The first fifteen minutes of class consist of him, taking off his jacket, and getting his papers out of his little backpack thing. No joke. Why does this suck? The class is only one hour.

He's also very quiet. In a lecture hall of about 40 students, most of which are twitching and such, if anything actually makes it to my ears, he talks at a speed which surpasses my speed of writing. Mucho unfortunature (I'm not sure that's how you say it in Spanish).

That's just my little rant, and small explaination of why I've been reading what I should have learned in class, and have not been able to take part in forum fun:(

Notice all history profs are usually old guys in starched-up plaid shirts and brown slacks? That take forever to get ready and speak in a dour, monotone voice specifically designed to induce sleep? Yup, that's the way the world works. You can't have a young, vivacious woman for a history teacher. That would go against all the rules of logic. Trust me, I've been studying this for a while.

But I plan to become a History teacher... doesn't mean I have to *voice becomes monotone, all fcacial expression is gone* conform to the standards of the typical history teacher.:(

Hmm... Homeschooling-by-video, eh? Hmm....

*Wheels turning*

So, maybe I acn start up one of those institutions, and in every video, insert some generic good-natured teacher insults? Or maybe some "your mom" jokes?

Hmm....

the reason you have male history teachers and few female ones is the females only like the stupid parts of history like the history of pants in victorian england or other gay stuff like that. men, on the other hand, like the parts where 150k troops caused 50k troops to get dead or 500 bombers burned a city to the ground in a single night. BLAM-O.

it's true.

maybe your college history department is like an old folks home for these teachers...he's probably doing this to support his golfing or bingo...that's why he doens't give a crap.

The teachers I had a hard time with was my Computer Science Teachers...lord knows...these guys have such a heavy accent I can't even tell if they are speaking english! No offence..but they talk fast and w/ a heavy accent. Now how are you supposed to take notes?? Or the teachers that make their "own" books...they think they are some sort of "author" and its even more confusing than their dumbfounded lecturers. It amazes me how these people get jobs...

...Well now I feel slightly... less than cool. Yesterday was the third week of class, and he mentioned that he has Parkinson's Disease.... which would accont for the twitching and such. He also said that he's been teaching there since the school was built (1963). So now I feel bad about complaining about his slow-ness... but I still wish he'd talk with more volume.
