ckcsaber
Yes. I like Star Wars. Yes. You like Star Wars (at least the OT). Now, other than Star Wars, what is your favorite Science Fiction movie? Mine has to be "Close Encounters of the Third Kind". Very cool movie. It had me sculpting my mashed potatoes for weeks.

StormHammer
Blade Runner. Without question, one of the best SF movies I've ever watched - and I've watched a lot over the last 30 years. "I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I watched sea-beams glitter in the dark nearly 10 hours a day. All those moments...will be lost...in time...like...tears in the rain." If you're talking about golden oldies, they don't come much better than Forbidden Planet. C'jais
Battlefield Earth? I don't think it'd be possible for that movie to suck harder even if it tried. Damn.

Hey I was gonna say that:pBlade Runner and Fight Club are my two favourite films ever (not including Star Wars). Though if I have to pick another of my own favourite Sci-fi films, I'd have to say Donnie Darko. That's science fiction, right? It's a great film based on the philosophy of time travel. Really gripping stuff.

That's a pretty slick flick with a twist. And it reminds me to mention the all-time classic...Alien. Here are some more golden oldies...which every good SF buff should see... The Day The Earth Stood Still - 'Gort - barenga!' The Day The Earth Caught Fire When Worlds Collide This Island Earth Invasion Of The Body Snatchers (original) The Thing (from Another World) - 'Watch the Skies. Keep watching the skies!' Them! - the best of the old monster movies. The Beast From 20,000 Fathoms 20 Million Miles to Earth and there are more...oh, so many more...
