Easter howdy

Naw, that isn't an avatar. It's a vanity license plate...

:D No posts?!? Bad, bad Lucasforums computer! Everyone knows that I really have more posts than the post office. This machine simply doesn't know who its daddy is yet.

So, anyway. Now that I'm here, I had a question I wanted to ask youse guys. I'm thinking of getting a gamecube, so I can try Rogue Leader. Is the game worth the investment, or would I be disappointed? :dozey:

What a... Imladil, how are you, old Rogue? Hey, The Master are you really here! Glad to see you alive :D I just saw The Rogue Squadron III preview images. They look interesting, but seems I'll be able to try the II and III after half of a century ;)

Yeah I haven't played II yet. Still waiting to get a bit of excess money so I can buy it. I have the gamecube and all, but no matter, not like I'll die if I don't have it.

. . .

. . .

Okay, maybe this is the wrong place to say that. Well, I was one of the first to get the original so there's the makeup. And now I am in the midst of my merry babble and once it gets going it's hypnotizing affects will take over all of your simple primitive minds and you shall be under my control for all the rest of eternity. . . sorry. Another ego babble burst.

Well, I'm just glad to see some people from the past are able to get together in this one last ditch effort. . . I mean thread. Missed ya all!:D

Get it!

I have one. I likes it.

Now that Gamecube is cheaper than when I bought it ( ), and many of the first generation of GC games are being marked down, I think it's a good investment. Rogue Leader rocks,.. and so do a few of the other GC titles. Metroid Prime is amazing, although I don't own it yet. Jedi Knight 2 is coming out for GC, so if you haven't played that yet get that too.

Yes get it. Don't listen to the other people who say XBox or PS2 is better with their technical Mumbojumbo. The Gamecube is a good quality system. It may have a few games, but they have more coming. Plus, they're good games compared to the hundreds of crappy games for the other systems.

Also, they're coming out with RS3 now. It WILL be worth it.

**** off. ;)

cube and ps2 don't get xbox live, so down the ****hole w/them..NOR does they have a hard drive or ability to have music burnt to them. sure, they got good games, but do they got downloadable content? no lan ability? not that i know of, though cube might eventually. the only good thing the cube has going for it is exclusive games, the ps2 has ability to play older games.

Xbox has more features than both consoles combined. So you have no reason to say it sucks, hell, you probably haven't even played one and are just listening to ****ing fanboys ****ing through their mouth....go to http://xbox.ign.com sometime and tell me how many crappy games the xbox has compared to [enter console here] .

now that that is done and said....

DO RESEARCH ON GAMES FOR EACH CONSOLE BEFORE BUYING

especially games that are coming out in the future.

I'm not trying to say not to get a gamecube, because everybody's opinion differs, obviously.

Don't listen to the other people

now that's just ignorant! :D

They're all nice.

[old man voice]Listen... back in my day, you had your choice between the Atari 2600 or the Intellivision or the Colecovision.[/old man voice] A lot of fights over which one was best... But lets face it, in comparison to today's machines they all sucked! ;) They were cool for the time, but you kids don't know how lucky you are to have the choices you have now.

If somebody had an Xbox, PS2, or a Cube back then he would have been king of the world.

If I really wanted to I could get one of each system,.. I just couldn't afford to get all the games then,.. and I certainly don't have time to play them all to make it even worth it.

If you have to have the online ability,.. get the Xbox.

If you want the best selection of games,.. get the PS2.

If you want the smallest, cheapest system with a couple of really great games,.. get the Cube.

Or save your pennies and get more than one.

Personally I think that the Xbox is a little too much. I grew up with the SNES and the Genesis as my video game entertainment. For me, consoles are one thing and computers are another. The Xbox is trying to combine both. What comes out is an amalgam of the two that is kind of awkward, and a little weird. Sure, all of those features are nice and everything, but some people don't care about that. Most people I know don't. They're perfectly content with their PS2 or GameCube. Heck, I know a bunch of people that are still dedicated to their PSXs.

I'm not dissing the Xbox or touting the GameCube and PS2. I'm just saying that people look for different things in consoles. I think someone would rather have a GameCube to play console games on and a PC to download and play LAN games and whatnot, rather than have a console that tries to integrate the two. There are just some things that consoles have that PCs don't and vice versa.

Thus, a pure console would be good enough for me. Poo on online capabilities, music burning and all that unecessary jazz. If I want those, I'll hop on my computer.

i believe i originally intended to get a PS2 for MSG2 and FFX, both of which i have yet to finish. I have not been dissapointed with the current games. SHinobi, Zone of the Enders:The Second Runner, and Robotech: Battlecry have made the purchase all worth while.

and Soul Calibur 2 will be in my hands, where i can perfect my Nightmare Game from the comfort of my chair. ^_^

Holy, crumbnuts! There's an RS III coming out? I haven't even done number two yet...!

I went to the Toys R Us on my break today, and they happened to have Rogue Leader on for trial. I tried it, and I can't wait to get one of my own. Yes, I have been watching the prices come down--I'm the guy who refused to pay more than $100 for an N64, and I'm setting the line at $125 this time. Right now, they're $150 where I tried one today, so I don't have long to wait.

Thanks for the advice. :D

:assult:

Wally the space dolphin says that the SARS virus is actually a Rigellian Rhino-virus that he picked up while interviewing contestants for the miss space cetacean pageant on Rigel IV, and that the cure for this annoying disease is to rub oneself from head to fluke in subgalactic whale oil then tan in the light of a blue giant star while drinking ten gallons of Romulan ale.

Old man's note: Do you snivelling punks know what they had when I was a kid? Do ya, huh? PONG. ;) 'Nuff said.
