Wanderer Posted June 6, 2003 Author Posted June 6, 2003 I watched some episodes of Dragon Ball Z but then a long time not and then again. I couldn't follow anymore...there happened too much. I mean lots of things seem to change quickly at Dragon Ball Z. How did you find Final Fantasy? I mean, ok, it's not really anime because it was 100% generated on computer....but I really love this one. Animes can be really soultouching...sigh;)
leXX Posted June 6, 2003 Posted June 6, 2003 Cowboy Bebop (you already know about) Films: Akira Ninja Scroll Ghost in the Shell Fist of the North Star
Wanderer Posted June 6, 2003 Author Posted June 6, 2003 Very good. I wonder why I didn't ask earlier....I'll check this out:D
Jubatus Posted June 6, 2003 Posted June 6, 2003 What LeXX said, but I'll add Urotsukidouji: Legend of the Overfiend - my favourite. Note: It's the first in a series of 3 movies, but you'll only wanna watch the first; the second is watchable but you wanna avoid the 3rd outright, no messing.
Darklighter Posted June 6, 2003 Posted June 6, 2003 Don't forget to check out The Animatrix: 9 original animated episodes based on the plots and ideas surrounding The Matrix. Really excellent stuff ^^
Lynk Former Posted June 6, 2003 Posted June 6, 2003 Bubblegum Crisis Bubblegum Crisis Tokyo 2040 Neon Genesis Evangelion You will watch these three anime series or die an incomplete being!
Lunatic Jedi Posted June 6, 2003 Posted June 6, 2003 These are my favorites animes (in order of preference) Trigun Dual! Parallel Trouble Adventure Cowboy Bebop Inuyasha Silent Mobius Serial Experiments: Lain Betterman

Rogue Nine Posted June 6, 2003 Posted June 6, 2003 I'd recommend pretty much any anime that was on my little list thingie there. I've also seen a few other good ones recently, like Full Metal Panic, which I very highly recommend. Azumanga Daioh has one of the best fansubs I've ever seen and is one of the best comedy animes I've seen. Excel Saga and Saber Marionette J are also quite good. As for movies, the only ones I can really recommend are Lupin III: Castle of Cagliostro, Vampire Hunter D and Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust. Oh yes. And stay away from DBZ. Stay away from it like the plague. The only good thing Akira Toriyama ever did was work on the Chrono Trigger art, and even then it could've used some improvement. Just don't do DBZ, kids.
Mandalorian54 Posted June 6, 2003 Posted June 6, 2003 What's good anmine? I don't know about movies but there are a few anmine comics I don't pass out when I see. Spiderman, legend of the spider ninja clan(or somthing like that) and Edens Trail. But other than that Anmine mostly just makes me sick.

DBZ IS EVIL! EEEEEEEVVVVVVVIIIIIIILLLLLLLLLL!!!

Crest of the Stars was great,in my opinion. I've never gotten around to watching Cowboy Bebop. What channel is it on? Oh,and Betterman looks stupid. Dual was just..wierd. I had that stupid theme song stuck in my head all day. >_<
Quotation Posted June 6, 2003 Posted June 6, 2003 Try the Animatrix. There are only about a dozen episodes, but they convey some very profound concepts.
Loki GM Posted June 6, 2003 Posted June 6, 2003 evan if it is computer generated it is still anime arent most of the anime today done with computers???
El Sitherino Posted June 6, 2003 Posted June 6, 2003 everyone must find darkside blues and watch it. other than that. all the ones listed above and see some i listed in the link given by loki.
Wanderer Posted June 6, 2003 Author Posted June 6, 2003 Today I bought The Animatrix. As a fan of the Matrix movies and the game I'm gonna watch this now with my wife. But the other informations about good anime series and movies are highly appreciated by me...I think that's what forums for too. To share knowledge (and enrich my collection of animés;)).
leXX Posted June 6, 2003 Posted June 6, 2003 Does anyone here remember Battle of the Planets also know as Gatchaman? It was a cartoon on in the 70's and 80's, and is in fact one of the very first mainstream anime's. I absolutely loved this show with a passion, and I recently came across some artwork by Kaare Andrews that reminded me of it (see avatar ). I now have the opening theme .mp3 and numerous pictures of it. When I heard the theme I swear a tear nearly came to my eye. http://www.bbc.co.uk/cult/ilove/tv/battle/
