-=DarkZero=-
Well this is a new thread to discuss new songs/old songs/ artists/ and what not, I'll start with one of my favourite artists, Marylin Manson ^_^. And a question for people who don't like him, or think hes gay because he got tits and stuff? HE DIDN'T THERE JUST RUMOURS :@God, whoever made those rumours are pervertts >.< EDIT: Did anyone go to ozzfest? I heard it was kick ass, but I need a little more detail, and it's still going on right? :/
|GG|Carl
Ziggy Stardust(David Bowie) rules! Actually, he's a bit gay too... (check this up if you don't believe me) But his music is really good! especially "changes" and "life on mars".
Elegy
Ozzfest kicked ass. Cradle of Filth was out there on the second stage, and even if you go just to see them, the price of those tickets are worth it. We paid for pit tickets so we could chill in the pit of the main stage. They had Chevelle, Disturbed, Manson, and Korn playing up there on the main stage. Ozzy was supposed to close but the bastard had laryngitis (sp?) or some ****. It rocked though. And Manson is hilarious. Nobody should bag on Manson. He puts on a damn good show. This one chick in the pit took off her top and the security guys were yelling at her to put it back on and Manson spots it and stops playing. He goes "Look at that f*cker over there! He's making that girl put her top back on. What kind of a**hole are you, making a girl like her put her top back on! Take your top back off! A girl like you shouldn't be forced to cover those up!" So she tears her top back off and Manson says "You know what? I don't like your breasts! Put your damn top back on!" He's crazy, though. Say what you want about him, and scoff at all the wierd BS that ignorant people say about him like "Oh, I heard he took out a rib to suck his own member!" or "Manson has boobies!" That's ignorance. You owe it to yourself to go check out one of his shows even just once. Yeah, it's wierd and twisted and messed up. But it's just so damned creative, and unique. And despite however much it might seem "attention seeking", it's totally dripped in sarcastic, cynical irony and I think that's what's appealing the most. As for my kind of music, I also agree that Manson rocks (obviously). As far as mainstream metal goes, he rules, Godsmack rules, Disturbed, System of a Down, hell most of them do as long as they're hard and heavy as hell. These past 3 years I've also been getting into odder stuff. Cradle of Filth, Tristania, Nightwish, Lacrimosa. Picture dark, gothic death metal blended in with orchestra and choirs and there you go. Good stuff.
The Cheat
my favorite music would have to be The Clash, the english band from the late 70s early 80s, may be before my time and from a different country but i really like them
obi
Manson isn't my kind of music....it sort of makes me nautious to hear it, truth be told... Anyway, I have had a recent obsession with the song "Calling all angels" by Train. Yes, Train. It surprised me too. Another song I am crazy over right now is "So Far Away" by Staind. It's actually positive, and Staind was awesome to begin with. And finally, another song I am crazy about right now is "Counting the rain" by Revice. My mother has told me that when I was a baby, I liked to listen to them. Especially "Should I stay or should I go?". I still think it's a good song. I was so pissed off last year when I saw CoF lined up for UK's tour and not ours in the US. Pissed off enough not to even bother going. It's too bad, because System of a Down didn't come this year. I'd have liked to see them live.

Datheus
Some of my favorite songs were written by Tool and Dredg... Aenema, Eulogy, Third Eye, Prison Sex, and Lateralus are all some great staple Tool songs. Tool also happens to be one of the few bands now that doesn't stick to 4/4 time. Dredg has some great songs as well. Crosswind Minuet, Movement III: Lydon, Yatahaze, Triangle, Scissor Lock, An Elephant in the Delta Waves, Of My Room... I normally detest rap and everything related. I also dislike most death metal (or whatever you call it) like Cradle of Filth, Mudvayne, and the similar. I don't like Nu Metal much either. (Popular, radio-ready-and-crafted, punk-metal crap... such as Linkin Park or Staind) When all 15 songs on an album sound exactly the same... Shame on you as an artist. (Don't argue with point with me. I've heard both Linkin Park and Staind albums. You can't change my mind about the fact that I think it all sounds generic. Ratmjedi
Well currently I am listining to both of Evergreen Terrace's albums. I doubt that anyone listens to them here but I never know. But I have just been listining to both of their albums back to back lately. Just some real good kick ass music. Rammstein is always good for me too. I just hate how some people are still just thinking of Du Hast when they have so many other great songs. I also have just been listining to some of Evanescence's older stuff from before "Fallen". Kylilin
I've gone through every post in this tread, and found out that I recognized about 4 names of bands. As for Marilyn Manson, I don't like his music, but I like that fact that he says whatever he wants, we need more of that in music.

coupes.
The Clash, The Ramones, The Specials, Michael Jackson... These were the best in their own musical area and I think no one as came close to surpassing them yet. I just wish MJ were still ... sane.
